"Slide closer to me and hold me in your arms... We will keep the cold at bay."
The softly spoken words followed by the tenderest of kisses send you drifting off to sleep; deeply snuggled in Aribeth's warm embrace. Your contentment provides fertile ground for a long night of pleasant dreaming. Scenes from the past few months of your heroic accomplishments are relived; squaring off against Obould Many-Arrows, your battle against the ancient, mighty Red Wyrm Klauth, your world-saving venture into the Source Stone. Every sequence, though, ultimately returns to a focus on Aribeth. The day you received her letter, the first time your eyes met, the first battle within the Graduation Chamber... The first time she spoke your name, the first embrace and kiss.
Aribeth gradually becomes the sole object of your peaceful dreaming.
Aribeth, herself, has drifted off to sleep into a night filled with long and vivid dreaming. Heartwarming scenes from her youth occupy her dream world; reliving conversations with her parents or a dear friend, and remembering how they cultivated her hopes and dreams. Passing over the trauma in her life, ultimately, her dreams also shift to visions of you. Her strong attraction the moment your eyes met and how she felt a nervous quivering; making her feel like a silly child. The fear that Fenthick would discover her feelings for you. And then to your touch, your caress, your eyes and smile... and your kiss. Dashed hopes and broken dreams have found their way into Aribeth's life, but they have led her into your arms, and tonight, while dreaming peacefully by your side, she smiles.
"Then all is silent and the snow falls, settling soft and slow. The evening deepens, and the grey folds closer earth and sky. The world seems shrouded, far away; its noises sleep, and I, as secret as yon buried stream, plod dumbly on, and dream." Archibald Lampman
Assumptions/Presumptions on player perspective. This module series mainly focuses on Aribeth and the player character's developing relationship. It is a module that is geared to those player characters, such as my own, that were attentive to Aribeth in the official campaign.
It is a ROMANCE, there is no friendship storyline for male or female player characters, that would be an entirely different storyline and module.
Aribeth's Revival is a niche module that is devoted to following a specific storyline that was present in the Official Campaign.
It is for those of us that acquired the necessary evidence that suggested that she should be shown mercy and those who entered the Source Stone with a hopeful outlook after having a positive dialogue with prisoner Aribeth; regarding your mutual/shared feelings.
I make the assumption that a significant relationship had developed over the span of many months where the PC and Aribeth spent many hours, days, weeks, etc., in close contact.
I emphasize this because if you don't, or are unwilling to, view the modules from this perspective, then they probably won't be something you'd want to download.
Did I mention:
It is a ROMANCE, there is no friendship storyline for male or female player characters, that would be an entirely different storyline and module. It would be a great idea for a module, but that would be too much for me to handle.
Aribeths_Revival_II_CEP.rar
Older CEP VERSION (1.52 and patch 1.66) of Aribeth's Revival. Be aware! This module might be more buggy than the non-CEP. Updated August 5th, 2007 8:00PM US East. Contains the CEP HAK and other files.
Aribeth's Revival II PATCH 1.66. This is the older 1.66 version for anyone who has yet to update to 1.68. Posted Jan. 15th, 2008. This ZIP compressed file also has the older 1.66 HAK for part II.
Aribeth II Epilogue.zip (post-BETA Sep 21st, 2006 2:30PM US EST)
Now included in the main module files, both CEP and non-CEP! You won't need to download this one if you have the updated module files.
An epilogue module that adds more content to the end of Aribeth's Revival II. It is sort of an experimental endeavor. It requires the non-CEP hakpacks from part I and II and the ari_rev_music.hak. It will play a music file from part I if you have previously downloaded them.
New, posted June 27th, 2007- This music file should have been available in the main music hak back from the start. It is the song that is played in the opening cutscene. I'll add it to the main music hak, so you only need to download this if you have already downloaded the main hak and want to hear the intro.
Aribeth's Revival II - Main module file in zipped format, with the generic music .hak file and readme.doc. Latest UPDATE on Jan 15th, 2008. This is now the patch 1.68 module file, which does have some newer content compared to the patch 1.66 version. --This is the most recent and up to date module version--
Aribeth's Revival II-HAK in ZIPPED format. UPDATED Jan 15th, 2008 for patch 1.68 and with Aribeth Armor changes -- You only need to download the RAR or the ZIP hak, you don't need both. RAR is a faster download, but some people depend on ZIP files, so I'll post both. You need to get this update if you haven't already.
This is Aribeth's Revival II built with CEP 2.0 and patch 1.68, posted February 29th, 2008. The most up to date CEP module. It has been tested a few times, but I don't think there should be any issues. The compressed zip package also contains the required HAK (ari_rev_2_cep.hak) file and the generic music hak file. If you want custom music, then you still need to download the music files and hak that are posted here in this list.
Aribeth's Revival II-HAK in RAR format. UPDATED to patch 1.68 with Aribeth Armor changes, Jan 15, 2008-- If you have RAR, then you don't need the ZIPs. Choose one or the other, not both. Updated elven heads; included 7 heads from commonwealth hak.
If that was the case, the transition from one module to another wouldn't have worked, right? Thanks for your help.

Hina, it is possible that you may have used a different version for part I, the Interlude and part II? Maybe a different patch version or CEP/non-CEP versions?

Hello, maybe i'm just blind but I really worry where some of Aribeth's gear could have vanished. Just rescued her from the Zhentarim, but it wasn't anywhere in the bandit's house. Her armor and sword (and maybe something other I've forgotten)were in the chest at the starting room, but some things (especially the ring the PC gave her in Chapter 1 and some equipment I canÄt precisely remember) aren't there. Any Ideas or Hints?

Nicely played I hope it will be the completion of this module.

greenriceman, I commented to your comment a while back, on the CEP part I page. I am not actively working on the continuing story, at this time, but I might pull the ol' Toolset off the shelf. I have put some time into the sequel, so there is some new content, but it isn't nearly ready for a release. MackyMac ' "(I just love it when happy accidents work out) " You know they say the road to hell is paved with good intentions (like with Aribeth in HotU)... Well, could that mean that the road to heaven is paved with happy accidents? 8-)

**The class change should have been permanent, however, I built the Epilogue module, which contains the ritual, after part II had been out for several months, alas, I forgot to tweak the portrait, however, I chose that one, since she'd be relaxing at that time and not in her armor. Later, when I combined the Epilogue with the main module, I just didn't bother to tweak the portrait. Cool. Even though I asked, I still felt like the portrait change had the feeling of intentionality. I like it. I sign out and then I remember. If, say, you had a level 6 Aribeth and I had a level 4 Aribeth from part I, it would be much more difficult for me to set up her dual-class. You'd be 5/1 or 6/1 and I'd be 4/1 or 3/1. Too complicated for me to bother with that when I could just set them all to the same starting point. I'll just leave it to Tyr and Hanali to sort out the details. 8-)

Glad to be of service, MackyMac 8) I thought some of her behavior or dialogue might be too indicative of a change, especially when contrasted to the Official Campaign Aribeth. I did try to be somewhat subtle about it, though... You could say that her 'flashback' episodes kinda 'bleed-through' and are expressed in her demeanor, in a way. That's another way to look at it. The bird in a cage was one instance, but that wasn't a necessary dialogue, it was in one of the baker's mill rooms. A few people have noted this difference over the years, mostly in a quizzical way, not understanding that it was intentional in the way I explained. The class change should have been permanent, however, I built the Epilogue module, which contains the ritual, after part II had been out for several months, alas, I forgot to tweak the portrait, however, I chose that one, since she'd be relaxing at that time and not in her armor. Later, when I combined the Epilogue with the main module, I just didn't bother to tweak the portrait. "Words cannot express? well, further words cannot express?" Naturally! 8-) Thanks. And yeah, there is a leveling reset for Aribeth's character, it had to do with my creating dual-classed henchmen (LvL 1 Paladin, Level 3 Ranger), at the time. She's either L4 ranger or L3/L1, Ranger/Paladin, or maybe it was Paladin/Ranger? I can't remember why, exactly, but I felt it best to start her out that way and to continue from this level point going forward and it had to do with the henchmen level up scripts for dual-henchmen. I'm a bit rusty when it comes to those scripts, as far as remembering the specifics.

Thanks for the response Poecile! **The voice and manner of Aribeth was something that I debated with myself and others at the Bioware forums. It was the process of gathering other people's thoughts about a character that had a limited backstory. I actually wondered about that at some point much later as I played if there was a deliberate reasoning behind that. Thanks for breaking it down. I can see iy, at least to a point. Now I'm wondering if a) that rationale isn't working quite so well otherwise it might have been more clear or b) maybe it was something I should have more readily picked up on. I'll have to play again and see if I think differently about it. In any case, I liked reading your reasoning on that. **In part II, the conversation by the gravestones, early on, determines whether or not she continues on as a Paladin or a Ranger. When I played I did that part twice, but shortly after I had to reload for some goofy reason that I cannot recall. The first time she went ranger? the second I thought "Bah what the heck" and went paladin. The one question I have on that situation is, does it determine her path once and for all or can she change again based on future dialogue responses? I only ask because at the very end when we began the ritual her portrait switched from Paladin Aribeth to Ranger Aribeth. At first I thought that one of my last dialogue options switched her over. However I also thought maybe you had the portrait intentionally switch since the ritual is rooted in the whole naturalistic thing. ("naturalistic thing"?gahh! Sounds like something Ranger Aribeth would say! :P ) Just curious on that. **I came up with the ritual, and subsequent rituals, on my own, using the above dogma as a foundation or guide for those scenes, I was inspired by Hanali, you could say. I'm not sure I quoted the entire paragraph in the campaign conversation, but I got the most pertinent lines, I think. Well that's just awesome. You sir are a bona-fide bad-ass. I thought it was cool enough when I considered that you may have simply adapted it to your story. That is hands-down one of the best written romance moments I've played in a mod. Very intense. Words cannot express? well, further words cannot express? ***'I hear the drum beats for a part III, I hear 'em. Maybe I'll listen to them. Thank you for the follow up, and addressing the possibility of a Part3 (BEAT THOSE DRUMS LOUDER YOU WORMS! The man isn't made of ears!) Oh one other thing? I saw it mentioned elsewhere in the comments that somebody noticed a disparity in Aribeth's levels from Part1 to Part2. I thought I noticed the same thing. I'm not 100%, but I'm fairly sure I ended Part1 at L5 (and Aribeth at the same level). In Part 2 I leveled up to L6 just after I rescue her. That's when I saw she was just L4. I'd have to replay to be sure about Aribeth's level (naturally I'm sure about my char's level). Don't know if it is something you've noticed at all since whenever that other comment was made. It didn't give me game play problems though. _________________________ I'll tell you all my secrets but I lie about my past
