"Slide closer to me and hold me in your arms... We will keep the cold at bay."
The softly spoken words followed by the tenderest of kisses send you drifting off to sleep; deeply snuggled in Aribeth's warm embrace. Your contentment provides fertile ground for a long night of pleasant dreaming. Scenes from the past few months of your heroic accomplishments are relived; squaring off against Obould Many-Arrows, your battle against the ancient, mighty Red Wyrm Klauth, your world-saving venture into the Source Stone. Every sequence, though, ultimately returns to a focus on Aribeth. The day you received her letter, the first time your eyes met, the first battle within the Graduation Chamber... The first time she spoke your name, the first embrace and kiss.
Aribeth gradually becomes the sole object of your peaceful dreaming.
Aribeth, herself, has drifted off to sleep into a night filled with long and vivid dreaming. Heartwarming scenes from her youth occupy her dream world; reliving conversations with her parents or a dear friend, and remembering how they cultivated her hopes and dreams. Passing over the trauma in her life, ultimately, her dreams also shift to visions of you. Her strong attraction the moment your eyes met and how she felt a nervous quivering; making her feel like a silly child. The fear that Fenthick would discover her feelings for you. And then to your touch, your caress, your eyes and smile... and your kiss. Dashed hopes and broken dreams have found their way into Aribeth's life, but they have led her into your arms, and tonight, while dreaming peacefully by your side, she smiles.
"Then all is silent and the snow falls, settling soft and slow. The evening deepens, and the grey folds closer earth and sky. The world seems shrouded, far away; its noises sleep, and I, as secret as yon buried stream, plod dumbly on, and dream." Archibald Lampman
Assumptions/Presumptions on player perspective. This module series mainly focuses on Aribeth and the player character's developing relationship. It is a module that is geared to those player characters, such as my own, that were attentive to Aribeth in the official campaign.
It is a ROMANCE, there is no friendship storyline for male or female player characters, that would be an entirely different storyline and module.
Aribeth's Revival is a niche module that is devoted to following a specific storyline that was present in the Official Campaign.
It is for those of us that acquired the necessary evidence that suggested that she should be shown mercy and those who entered the Source Stone with a hopeful outlook after having a positive dialogue with prisoner Aribeth; regarding your mutual/shared feelings.
I make the assumption that a significant relationship had developed over the span of many months where the PC and Aribeth spent many hours, days, weeks, etc., in close contact.
I emphasize this because if you don't, or are unwilling to, view the modules from this perspective, then they probably won't be something you'd want to download.
Did I mention:
It is a ROMANCE, there is no friendship storyline for male or female player characters, that would be an entirely different storyline and module. It would be a great idea for a module, but that would be too much for me to handle.
Aribeths_Revival_II_CEP.rar
Older CEP VERSION (1.52 and patch 1.66) of Aribeth's Revival. Be aware! This module might be more buggy than the non-CEP. Updated August 5th, 2007 8:00PM US East. Contains the CEP HAK and other files.
Aribeth's Revival II PATCH 1.66. This is the older 1.66 version for anyone who has yet to update to 1.68. Posted Jan. 15th, 2008. This ZIP compressed file also has the older 1.66 HAK for part II.
Aribeth II Epilogue.zip (post-BETA Sep 21st, 2006 2:30PM US EST)
Now included in the main module files, both CEP and non-CEP! You won't need to download this one if you have the updated module files.
An epilogue module that adds more content to the end of Aribeth's Revival II. It is sort of an experimental endeavor. It requires the non-CEP hakpacks from part I and II and the ari_rev_music.hak. It will play a music file from part I if you have previously downloaded them.
New, posted June 27th, 2007- This music file should have been available in the main music hak back from the start. It is the song that is played in the opening cutscene. I'll add it to the main music hak, so you only need to download this if you have already downloaded the main hak and want to hear the intro.
Aribeth's Revival II - Main module file in zipped format, with the generic music .hak file and readme.doc. Latest UPDATE on Jan 15th, 2008. This is now the patch 1.68 module file, which does have some newer content compared to the patch 1.66 version. --This is the most recent and up to date module version--
Aribeth's Revival II-HAK in ZIPPED format. UPDATED Jan 15th, 2008 for patch 1.68 and with Aribeth Armor changes -- You only need to download the RAR or the ZIP hak, you don't need both. RAR is a faster download, but some people depend on ZIP files, so I'll post both. You need to get this update if you haven't already.
This is Aribeth's Revival II built with CEP 2.0 and patch 1.68, posted February 29th, 2008. The most up to date CEP module. It has been tested a few times, but I don't think there should be any issues. The compressed zip package also contains the required HAK (ari_rev_2_cep.hak) file and the generic music hak file. If you want custom music, then you still need to download the music files and hak that are posted here in this list.
Aribeth's Revival II-HAK in RAR format. UPDATED to patch 1.68 with Aribeth Armor changes, Jan 15, 2008-- If you have RAR, then you don't need the ZIPs. Choose one or the other, not both. Updated elven heads; included 7 heads from commonwealth hak.
Oh my, nothing better to knock a twit-spam (like that term you used) post than a nice and meaty one, heh, thanks MackyMac! Yeah, the HotU effort was lackluster, I do think they had the best intentions in mind, but you know how the saying goes, and this case, it was literal, there she sat in a chunk of ice. The voice and manner of Aribeth was something that I debated with myself and others at the Bioware forums. It was the process of gathering other people's thoughts about a character that had a limited backstory. For example, she's an Elf, typically Chaotic in alignment, but she's also garnered interest from Tyr, a human deity, and she becomes a Paladin under his service, how does that all come about? So we've tossed around our thoughts and what not and I have to give BearThing credit for kinda supporting my own ideas that I held prior to engaging in any discussion, i.e. maybe there's some human lineage somewhere in her past and perhaps she's apt to exhibit a more chaotic nature given the circumstances where she finds herself no longer under service to Tyr. So, I decided upon that path and, especially since she's "Absorbing" the past that has long been buried within her being, she's undergoing a process that we perhaps should recognize as being overwhelming to her nature/personality... She starts out being prone to exhibiting a more youthful and chaotic demeanor where you could say she does act or talk in a juvenille way. It the process of coming to terms with her past/youth. It is expressing itself as we go along. In part II, the conversation by the gravestones, early on, determines whether or not she continues on as a Paladin or a Ranger. Sometimes I think I should remember to ask a PC if they played with her as a R or as a P, it would help me understand the comments a little better. So, at that point in time, she should continue on with her more chaotic attitude/demeanor or she should start to resemble the character we see in the OC, though somewhat affected by the rush of past memories. Oh, and lest I forget, thorns would work better there, you're probably right about that, I probably had Moo-ella on my mind and came up with barbed-wire. There are a few lines that are unique to a female-female path, and that *was* about whether or not people would frown upon seeing them dance at the Graduation Ceremony, and there are female-elven specific and female-human specific answers, too. I think Linu's opening dialogue, in part I's beginning, also has a variation based on gender and race. The dogma of Hanali Celanil is on page 128 in the Faiths and Pantheons manual, E.Boyd, E.Mona pg.128-9- "Life is worth living because of the beauty found in the world and the love that draws twin hearts together. Nurture what is beautiful in life , and let beauty's rapturous glow enliven and brigten the lives of those around you. The greatest joy is the rapture of newfound love and the tide of romance that sweeps over those wrapped in its embrace. Find love wherever it takes root, and bring it to the fullest bloom so that all may share in the joy and beauty it creates. Always give shelter and succor to young lovers, for their hearts are the truest guide to life's proper course." I came up with the ritual, and subsequent rituals, on my own, using the above dogma as a foundation or guide for those scenes, I was inspired by Hanali, you could say. I'm not sure I quoted the entire paragraph in the campaign conversation, but I got the most pertinent lines, I think. Yeah, I hear you about Lord Nasher, he is a tricky sort to figure out, it was a real fine mess of things he got himself into. He had been afflicted by the Wailing Death, and he was probably in and out of consciousness or even at death's door for some time, then he's saved and one of the first big things he does is to execute Fenthick and exile Aribeth to Port Llast. I'm not done with his character, but mainly I feel like I wanted to make it seem he was capitulating to the PC, mainly as a dog between his tail type of guilty conscience where the PC has proven so many things to others and how the PC has triumphed in the wake of adversity. I don't think Lord Nasher would be so much a crusty hard-ass about telling the PC to shove off now that everything is peachy keen. He was a heralded adventurer himself, back in his younger days, and I think he would sympathize with the PC. So, just what would he be mulling over in his mind if not the inevitable when the hero/heroine returns - "I know I'll have to address the Aribeth situation with PC, I have to show him/her some leniency, seeing all he/she has accomplished, maybe I was wrong and the PC was right, etc." 'ugh, look at all the words I've said. That's just ridiculous'. 8-), that was funny. Thanks for a nice and entertaining read! I hear the drum beats for a part III, I hear 'em. Maybe I'll listen to them.

Blah Blah Blah, I've already given a ridiculously lengthy review on the series so far on the Part1 page. In short, many thanks, it was fantastic. A well needed follow to the OC. Truly a gift to those who are fans of and sympathized with Aribeth. I look forward to playing again, perhaps with a bard combo. Aribeth could use some serenading I think. If there were a Part3 (please say yes) would that wrap things up and be the final? Thanks again...again. _________________________ I'll tell you all my secrets but I lie about my past

I see... in this period there's a troll attack agains a lot of builders (included me) in advantage to a certain mod serie... Clearly, someone doesn't like the ranking of some mudules, and tries to down-rank them. Me, McV, Fester Pot, Tukaram and many others have just suffered and are still suffering this childish "treatment "....so, be careful, ok? ;)

Beerbaron72, So it's just another case of "drive-by" down voting? Somewhat surprising that it still happens after all this time, and disappointing, but his comment is gone, so it's all good 8-)

Poe, beware of "conduce al vecchio", he's a troll!

conduce al vecchio, I can only suggest that you download the readme help files that are at Aribeth's Revival part I. That should get you started. If you need specific help, come back with a question. Basically, there is a module with the CEP pack and without the CEP pack. If you are new to this, go with the module that does not have the CEP. It is the same story and module anyway, it is just that the CEP would let you use a custom player character (PC). Also, go with the newest updates, the newest patch. I kept some of the older patched modules up here, even going back to the first version, NWN1.29, without SoU and HotU.

One of the best modules I ever played.

Heh, that's cool, Beerbaron, just keep the bugs out of the shop! 8-) I like Nora's portrait.
