Description
Terror by night! The village of Orlane is dying. Once a small and thriving community, Orlane has become a maze of locked doors and frightened faces.
Strangers are shunned, trade has withered. Rumours flourish, growing wilder with each retelling.
Terrified peasants flee their homes, abandoning their farms with no explanation.
Others simply disappear ....
Based on the original TSR AD&D module N1 : Against the Cult of the Reptile God by Douglas Niles.
Thank you kindly Moo Socks :-) That is high praise indeed, thank you for taking the time to play and vote. If it's any consolation, there were far less rest areas in the original version I released, it actually has 'lots' now by comparison :-) But I agree, a few more were probably needed, it was trying to strike that balance between feeling a sense of danger from not being able to always rest, and 'playability' (because not being able to rest when you really want to does kinda suck, I'd agree :-) )
Anyway, thank you :-)

This is easily the best custom mod I have played. Smooth questing, no scripting errors, encounters nicely balanced (with help available for the tougher ones). Loved it! I think it may have needed one or two more resting ares, though. Spells aside, the NPCs that latch onto you now and then also need their health back sometimes lol!
Hi Doug - it is still in progress but nearing completion - it's called The Shadow Sun, but I'll certainly post again here when release date is imminent :-)

BTW: Did you ever finish that CRPG project you mentioned?
Thanks Delf, glad you enjoyed it and thanks a lot for posting comments and rating :-) You're right, rangers (and druids) are probably the best choice for this mod given the 'little extras' they get :-)

Very well-done PnP conversion, with a lot of the kind of polish and attention to detail that makes a module stand out from the crowd. It is possible I enjoyed it more than I otherwise would because I played with a ranger, since there is a lot of extra content for PCs who can talk to animals.
Thank you kindly udasu, that's all really good to hear, thanks :-)

What a riveting mod! Such great attention to detail, and some fun puzzles (I almost forgot how Simon worked ;). Well done, U. _________________________ Well, y'know... Sometimes you eat the bar, and..
Hmm, not the most informative review ever, but thanks for the rating. I guess if you're going to needlessly spam my page, at least you had the decency to vote high .... :-)
Glad you're sorted before I noticed :-) Installing the CEP can take a bit of time first time :-) Do let me know what you think, it was one of my favourites back in the 80s too :-)
Uh...yeah... um, found the content installer in the hak and installed it...works fine now.... sorry about that. Im not very computer savvy as you can obviously tell. Can't wait to try this out. It was one of my favorite modules when i was a kid back in the early 80's.
Scratch that last comment...i downloaded and extracted the full 2.2 CEP, and put it in the hak files. I put the 1.5 extracted zip file in the module file. It shows up in the module list but when i try to load up the module it says "missing custom talk table"... where is that folder at and where does it belong? Please help...Thanks
Rich... after i download the zip file, i tried the extract the files, and all i get is the movie clips? Where is the module file? Please let me know what i need to do. Thanks
Are you still getting this problem, keyofrassilon? Still seems to be working fine for me. If you're struggling, let me know and I can always mail you what you need :-) but suspect it was a temporary problem with this site.
Thank you kindly, krydor, that is high praise indeed! Much appreciated and glad you enjoyed it as much as I hoped people would. Thanks :-)

I've played through a number of user-created modules and this one is hands down the best. A perfect conversion of a classic! Rich, congratulations on your impressive accomplishment.
Hi nikko18 - are you checking the correct braziers, it's the 4 in the central room with the large sun mosaic on the floor that need to be lit, rather than the ones in the corridor. I can't think of anything else that could be wrong and have never heard of this happening, so let me know if you're still struggling. As long as you're lighting the 4 braziers in the central room with the lit sunstick while wearing the red robe, all should be good :-) If it does turn out to be a strange bug, I'm sure I can find a command for you to try in DebugMode that will sort things out for you.
** Spoiler**
I completed the first two parts of the quest to speck to the head of the abbey: preyed in the yellow robe, lit the sunstick in the orange robe. When I went to light the braziers in the red robe, they were already lit. Any thoughts, plot is stuck.
Thanks Doug, I'm so glad you enjoyed it and got that 'PnP feel' :-) My first campaign was also based around Hochoch, with N1 as the starting adventure, happy days :-) I'm not working on another module, although the thought does still cross my mind to do one, L1(possibly L1-3) would be the likely choice. But I must warn you, it may never happen :-) However, I am currently involved in a project (not NWN, but CRPG-related) which I will post some details of a soon as I am permitted to :-)
Thanks for playing and voting, and for your great comments, I still like to know that people enjoyed playing :-)

Excellent module! It captured the PnP feel perfectly. I also enjoyed the fact that the module started in Hochoch as I played in a long campaign set around there. Are you working on another module? If so what is it?
Thanks for such wonderful comments murf09, I'm really glad you enjoyed it :-) And good that a wizard/rogue could triumph, that was my hope, 'challenging' is fine so long as it's not 'stupidly hard' :-) so I'm really glad the mana nodes made the difference.
Thanks for playing and voting and such great comments :-)
