Description
Note: WinRAR and 7-Zip are required to extract all downloaded files.
REQUIREMENTS:
*** Requires Nwn 1.68, and all released expansions (SoU, HotU, and CEP 1.68) *** **You must have the hak cep1patch168_ck (CEP 1.68 Cloak Patch); it comes in the latest standard CEP 1.68 patch update.**
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
KotHG requires the KotHG Music Pack. Put the music hak in the nwn hak folder and place all .bmu music files into the nwn music folder.
Also requires the Hak Pak "Bloodthorne Placeables for CEP", which can be found here for download along with the game module. Put the module in your nwn mod folder and put the hak in your nwn hak folder. Then you'll be ready to play!
The erf file is only for importing the placeables into your own modules as I have outlined in the Contents readme I included with the placeables hak itself.
The last Hak Paks required to play this module are the two I have listed below:
1. A new version of TSR Rideable Horses System 1.0 by Rosietreats and others... that can be downloaded fully along with my placeables and music packs. This new version I have posted here fixes a bug in the original TSR system that made a lot of 1.67 content not show up. It now works flawlessly with 1.67, 1.68, and the CEP 1.68.
2. 69Doors v2 (One of my favorite Door Packs, which I have 7-Zipped down to a mere 3.90 MB for your convenience.)
That said, what follows are some very important details about this module:
RATING:
This mod is for mature players only... due to some occasionally adult subject matter and very heavily controversial religious issues, as well as blood and gore; sexual references and situations that may be offensive to some players; especially not suitable for children! Player's discretion, is advised.
DESCRIPTION:
From the setting out of three knights from Camelot upon their quest for the Holy Grail, to the originl founding of the Knights Templar so many long years later, this module chronicles the tale of a single brave knight who was, in a way, destined to have a hand in both events. You are that knight... and this destiny is yours! There are riddles to solve, sacred relics to uncover, fiends to do battle with, even some damsels in distress... and a sweeping saga that will take you all the way from Britain to the Middle East. For all of those players seeking after a darker path, there is even the ability to "sell your soul" and become one of the order of Death Knights. You can be chivalrous or you can be villainous, the choice is yours... and the Grail so awaits those wise or cunning enough to win their way to reach it. However, the question of just what the Grail truly is will lead you toward a final discovery that will change forever everything that you may have thought you ever knew about that legendary relic. Note: The item that makes you a Death Knight is only un-removeable in this module. You can take it with you to other modules, but in them it will be removeable. In this way, your new Death Knight state of being can be taken with you, while it's "curse" aspect is only in this game. Below are just a few of my many inspirations for the making of this mod:
INSPIRATIONS:
My inspirations for this module - The old PC game Conquests of Camelot (not to be confused with the game Dark Age of Camelot!), the classic novels "Le Morte D'Arthur" by Sir Thomas Malory and Tennyson's "Idylls of the King"; the histories of the Knights Templar and (of course!) the Holy Grail, and Celtic Myths & Legends most especially concerning the lost land of Ys... and last but not least the legends of the ancient Gnostics. If it were not for all these great sources, this module would never have been possible to make.
That said, enjoy the grand quest... and prepare for surprises at the end!
DISCLAIMER:
Disclaimer: I did not write any of the music in the music pack, all I did was compile the pack itself with music from various sources. Credit goes to all of the original artists, whomever they were. Cheers!

how is it that after downloading and placing stuff in corect folders I dont even see kothg in modules selection when I start nwn, I have dimond edition and cep v 2.0 whats up help

Ameronth, You need CEP 1.68. CEP 2 is NOT backwards compatible. CEP2 only works with a mod that uses CEP 2, not CEP 1.xx. _________________________ My shoes are too tight and I have forgotten how to dance.

I had trouble loading the module too. Turns out I was missing a patch. This post made by the author helped me resolve it: RDS, the only heads used in the module come from the CEP and standard Nwn. Are you, by any chance, using the CEP 1.68 hak that doesn't use the cloaks? This module uses the CEP 1.68 cloak hak, the one labelled cep1patch168_ck. If you aren't using that cloak hak, this could be your problem. Also, which Hak Pak is it saying you are missing? Here is the list of all the Hak Paks used by this module. I've just loaded it up in the toolset to take a look at it. The list: From highest to lowest priority, is... Topmost priority - 1. tsr horses Secondmost priority - 2. 69_doors Thirdmost priority - 3. kothg_music Fourthmost priority - 4. bloodplace Fifthmost priority - 5. cep1patch168_ck Sixthmost priority - 6. cep1patch152 Seventhmost priority - 7. cep1patch150 Eighthmost priority - 8. cep1patch Ninthmost priority - 9. cep2da Tenthmost priority - 10. cepanatomny Eleventhmost priority - 11. cepbaseitem Twelfthmost priority - 12. cepcreature Thirteenth priority - 13. cepplace Fourteenth priority - 14. cepportrait Lowest priority - 15. ceptexture (Not one other Hak Pak was used for KotHG.) You will need the newest 1.68 CEP Tlk file, however. The old one won't work with CEP 1.68, so that could also be a problem. Since both tlk files are named the same thing, you might have confused them. Look for the one with this date on it: 1/28/5 That is the correct tlk. Now also: are you using my Horse hak, or the original one? If you are using the original one, it won't work with my module because of 2da differences. Use my Horse hak to avoid 2da conflicts. In closing: no other Hak Paks than those I have up on this page were used in the making of this module. My advice: check your hak list with the one I just put up. If you are missing any or if any have different names than those on my list, that is your problem. The only solution would be to re-download the haks listed, including the CEP 1.68 if you have an altered or corrupted CEP for any reason. Also, make sure your Nwn 1.68 patch isn't wierding out: to do so, make sure your override folder is always empty. ANY files in there will cause a problem with the cloaks and give you grief. This should get you all set and ready to play correctly

Having some trouble loading the module. I get a "Couldn't unpack module. Missing required custom talk table." error. I have 1.68 and all expansions including CEP2. Any ideas?

I really enjoyed playing this module although I'm not a fan of the Arthurian legend but you should get more credit for making this. It's really a journey to remember. I missed a little bit of role playing though, the dialog options were limited. Vast areas to explore but I wasn't tired. I felt like I really had a purpose and I was really on a mission. Having the option to ride a horse helped a lot too. The side quests, although not nearly as many as I would had expected, considering the length of the module, took a lot of my time. The walkthrough came really handy. Kudos for making it so detailed. The only problem with an adventure such as this, is the difficulty of the foes. Most of the time, though,I encountered enemies that I could defeat. My only objection is the starting level. I think that it would had been better if it was higher than 1-3. First and foremost, you are considered to be a knight and secondly, I don't think that this task would had been entrusted upon you if you were but a novice. I liked the items that I managed to retrieve. They had a background befitting to the tale and they were powerful but not insanely so. The quest that Shai?tan gave to me, I took it just to see what it would happen and I didn't kill the maiden but I wasn't given the choice to tell her that I couldn't kill her, so it stayed unfinished. Also,I wasn't given the option to export my character when the module ended. I might play this again, there are surely things left for me to see.I think that you deserve a 10 for all the hard work and for creating an excellent module.

Good module, some bugs and spelling errors. I was unable to get certain areas to load the castle at the first port when traveling to Mecca , and the tower in lodilin (sic)over all The module promises more than it delivers. Why is Level range 1-40? I started at 1 and finished at 11 and it was quite easy.

Only spotted this today and can not believe how big it is. Anyway can not load up game as it keeps telling me there is a hak missing. This is prob my 200th mod I have downloaded! Being a bit computer illiterate, the prob may come from you using a new zip (7-zip). Why? When nearly every other mod uses win rar or win zip. OK so what to do next

Thanks my friend, a nice story, well laid out with a minimum of bugs well done! Recommended to any who like a smooth flowing module ;) _________________________ Mea Culpa's Demesne Old Elven Saying: "Never say Never if you're gonna live forever!!!" "I didn't do it, it wasn't my fault"

Quick question: *Minor spoiler* Are there any whips or dwarven axes in this mod? Still fairly early into the game, but thus far I've found every weapon type except those 2.
