Each battle should last about half an hour to an hour.
Number Players
Good vs Evil supports single player, co-operative and player vs player, and will scale according to the number and level of players taking part in the battle.
Take command of an army in an epic battle between good and evil, with up to a hundred soldiers on the battlefield at any one time!
Choose a side. Choose an army. Choose a battlefield.
Give orders to your troops, summon reinforcements and deploy artillery to support them as your army strives to capture the enemy's shrines, smash down the gates of their fortress and destroy their altar.
Wage war alone against the computer, or take the battle online and fight alongside (or against!) your friends.
It's your war now - fight it the way you want to.
Good vs Evil was first released in the summer of 2003. This major new update includes a host of new features, gameplay tweaks and bug fixes, including -
Hero Mode - Play as a Hero instead of a General, leaving the AI to command your army for you while you knock some heads together.
Campaign Mode - Why settle for a single battle when you can fight an entire war? Each victory takes you deeper into enemy territory, each defeat brings your side closer to annihilation.
Prepare For Battle - Design your own unique weapons and armour to suit your needs, or brighten up old equipment with a new look, a different colour scheme or fresh magical enhancements.
New Battlefields - Fight in the snow and ice of a harsh frontier winter, in the blazing heat of the desert, or in lava-filled tunnels.
Improved AI - The enemy is now more intelligent, more aggressive and more challenging on higher difficulty settings, and more forgiving on lower ones.
Modify The Mod - Good vs Evil II comes with a step-by-step guide explaining how you can add your own new soldiers, armies and battlefields to the mod.
And Much, Much More - Good vs Evil has been balanced, tweaked and expanded based on three years of feedback, suggestions and bug reports from the mod's fans...
v2.04 now available with support for designing your own cloaks, as well as fixes for a few bugs. This version requires NWN v1.68 and both expansion packs.

About time I posted a personal score on this module. What else but 10? *smile* (and I just got a sneak peek at GvEIII and wow!) _________________________ Check out the latest reviews of new modules: The NWVault Reviewers Guild

Probably the best mod around, amazingly done and really fun to play. I can't give you 10 b/c a part of me screams when I see an army entirely comprised of lvl 20+ "soldiers". But it's fun anyways.

I love this module, and have for a long time haha. I was wondering if there was any chance of a conversion to NWN 2 though?

OMG, give this mod to an old wargamer who likes NwN (like me), and you will have him entertained a lot of hours :D
A pity that the campaign is so short (only 3 battles to win, -unless you change sides, like a good mercenary ^^-), and that the system is not so completely developed as to place tactical objectives different to the mana points, to design wide operations as branches of the war, to allocate resources for specific scenarios in a campaign...) but I think that would be to ask too much.
Perfect as it is to have long hours of fun (superb for multiplayer), and a very grateful surprise to find such a thing around here :)

This module is a brilliant realization of an RTS in NWN. I've been having a lot of fun playing it multiplayer - really reminds me of first-person team-based shooters like Tribes or Battlefront.
Which brings me to what I'm tempted to do - it would be fairly straightforward to convert this to D20 Modern - either just classes, feats, and equipment, or even things like new maps with modern tilesets. I hope you don't mind if I end up trying it out? Thanks for a great system to play with!

Using the NWN2 Scale, this one really is a must have, approaching the 'groundbreaking' category for its innovation. Wonderfully bugfree, decent AI, and a bunch of nice options to customise it, but most of all it really comes into its own for multiplayer. _________________________ Works of B G P Hughes: Link
sounds good but it also sounds like you need good specs to run this module. I will download anyway and see how it goes. Also it would be cool if u added cep2 to this. _________________________ Let there be rock

After playing this MP I think that this is easily the best module I've played
First, an apology for taking so long with responding again. Very troubled holiday season.
Anyway, I figured out my problem with why my armies weren't showing up. I forgetting to rebuild the module. All better now.
I am just rocking out with my new armies. I made several on both sides now. My evil armies have all been more or less find a different monster theme and build on it. But my two new good armies are what I'm most enjoying. I made one called the Shining Alliance that I simply compiled with various units from your three base armies, and them modified for a more cohesive theme in their equipment. I found slaughtering humans, elves and dwarves more fun when they are all together. But then I realized I never got to fight the evil armies. Thus I my primary army of late, still in progress, is a compilation of many of the evil units and placed within the menu for the good team. They evil fighting evil thing has been delicious.
The one other thing I feel compelled to mention is that I was forced to learn a little more about scripting by the fact that the Frozen Wastes terrain has no wall gates. I am using a Trigger event to signal the start of the battle and fighting through extreme blizzard conditions. I'm starting to play around with some area heartbeat weather scripts, as well as localized trigger events to create unstable terrain.
This week I plan to work on triggered spawns with third party hostiles to liven the battle field, and expanding on the array of spells available via miracles and shrine spells.
I was wondering if you has any thoughts or advice before I go forward there. I am reasonably certain I'm understanding way more code now than I ever intended to, but it still takes me a while to figure most of it out.
Thanx again for this incredible module. _________________________ Friends do not have to be like us.

Server is under TEAM on Gamespy. Server name is Good vs Evil CEP2. Module is same name. John, I will send you the mod after the holidays.
Posted by Gary Gygax at 2006-12-19 22:24:58 Voted 10.00 on 12/11/06
I need the e-mail address you'd like it sent to. I can be contacted at [email protected] . Also I've found someone to run it on a server. That will be up in a few days to a week. I'll announce it here.

Unfortunately John,
I only had one regular player, so, I took the server down. No sense tying up one of my machines to entertain one person. I\'m not going to release the module, but if you like, I can e-mail you a copy of it, if you\'d like to see what I\'ve done.
Thanks! Glad you're enjoying playing *and* modding Good vs Evil.
BTW, what's the name / IP address of your server?

Oh, and BTW, a vote.

Over the years I have enjoyed playing John Bye\'s Good vs Evil.
He made it with user modification in mind, but I have seen too many modified versions.
So, I decided to mess around with it and may have gotten a little carried away, but...
It\'s a new experience, now, and I have found it to be a much richer, more interesting Good vs Evil.
Not to belittle the original ( because I thouroughly enjoyed it ), but I find this version to take something great and make it better.
Try it for yourself.
Here\'s what is different so far:
2 new maps
1 new army for each side
3-4 new soldiers for each army
CEP2 with cloaks
rideable horses
personal divine favor system
the forge of wonders
head changer
armor/helmet/cloak recoloring
alignment specific sides
alignment changer
new bard songs
28 playable races as follows:
All have powers and abilities as dictated by D&D Monster Manual
Aasimar
Azer
Bralani
Bugbear
Drow
Deurgar
Gnoll
Goblin-can ride worgs and spiders
Half Celestial-can fly
Half Gold Dragon-can fly, has breath weapon
Half Red Dragon-see above
Half Fiend-can fly
Hobgoblin
Hound Archon
Kobold
Lizardfolk
Minotaur
Ogre
Orc
Rakshasa
Satyr-has magic pipes
Svirfneblin
Tiefling
Troglodyte
Troll
Vampire
Skeleton-all undead PC\'s will be healed by negative energy and harmed by heal spells
they can be turned as well
Gold and XP awards for personal kills
Divine favor for kills and captures
Phenotype changer
All unit costs increased to make strategies other than \"tank rush\" viable
All XP awards and gold are permanent, there is no level restucturing
Death penalties are exponentially more devastating as you level up
New divine spell system castable from shrine ( still being worked on )
If that\'s not enough, it\'s still a work in progress and it is updated daily
You still need the GoodvsEvil HAK that comes with the module, so you must still d/l the original to play on the server.
