Medieval Europe (but with lots of fantasy inside) This is the XIIIth century, but a XIIIth century where you can still find old Elven cities in the depths of ancient forests, or Dwarven kingdoms hidden in the northeastern part of Germany... The Holy Inquisition of the Catholic Church is hunting down magic users and a New World is about to born... But the forces of the Old World, with its magic and its legendary creatures, are still there...trying to survive.

Description
FINAL RELEASE (2.05) of the 1st episode of the 'Bastard of Kosigan' series translated by GINNI SWANTON.
After the death of his father, Gregor of Kosigan, the Bastard of Kosigan (your character) has been exiled from his homeland by the Count of Kosigan, his uncle Borogar, who has always hated him. Hes become a mercenary adventurer, wandering from place to place. His travels eventually lead him to the principality of Germany and the city of Cologne, where he gets caught up in a web of intrigue and deceit involving the Holy Inquisition of the Catholic Church and a coven of local witches. He soon learns that the stakes are higher than he thought, that things arent always what they seem to be, and that choices arent necessarily black and white. The richness of the dialog provides for realistic role-playing for all alignments, and the choices your PC makes affect not only the outcome of this module, but also everything that happens throughout it.
Dont be afraidyoull enjoy it even if youre a fan of pure Dungeons & Dragons, or if you killed your History teacher out of hate when you were a child :)
This translation has taken a huge amount of work for Ginni (about 5 or 6 monthes, many hours a day)...
She and I ran into many bugs due to the inconsiderate actions of previous would-be-translators...
We hope you will understand the real difficulty of what has been done :)
THE MOVIES (the wonderful beginning and End credits made by the Baudrands Brother are here: Link )
Definately the best of the Kosigan modules (the ones that have been translated to English anyways). The later modules are a little more lead them by the nose, but this one is perfect.

Oh, I had the issue with Stannis the Blacksmith as well. New Players I suggest you buy anything you want from the first time you talk to him. I don't think you can later. Though for me he was stuck in the woods near where the Wagon you fixed was.

Bravo! Bravo Author! Bravo Translator! This is an absolute MUST PLAY module. Church Scandals/Inquisition/Witches, I had played an early version of Bastard years ago (when ep2 was the starting point) and I didn't feel blown away. But this one did blow me away. It is Excellent. Easily in my top 5 and I have played a great many modules. Anyone who dabbled with Bastard years ago when this first module didn't exist, simply MUST return for this new beginning.

Fabien, le module est fantastique, mais ne parle allemand, s´il te plait, parce que c´est terrible!

Sorry, I really like to play this module by now, but is this a comedy? I really don´t understand the German dialogues and that is really funny, because I am German! The German dialogues really make no sense! Could you please explain why a merchant you have never met before "What happens?" asks? Or why everyone continously tells me "Ich bitte um unschuldigung!" - what translated in English - means: "I request for innocencing!" WHY? WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? I have found exactly one dialogue without any mistakes. The cause is that there were only three German words in this dialogue. ferry inderestink tranzlazion! (German are not stupid! - No, they are not more stupid than all the others.) I speak English and Frensh not very good, but I know how to explain what I mean. And I know how to speak in other languages! HEY STOOOPITTTT!!!

I really enjoyed playing this mod. Thanks for your work. Only small weak point is no quest for henchmen, but it dosnt matter because it have all other things (hero, story, interesting enemies, different looking locations...). Again thanks very much.

Loved the mod, very intriguing and it really gets you in character, but I just can`t give it a score higher than 8 because of the lack of documentation and the loose ends it just leaves. The henchmen having no conversation is also rather annoying (I`m not trying to judge here, but I would think that if the creator had time to write this HUGE story and dialogs, he would`ve had time to write a few more for the henchmen/companions too). The mod was GREAT and the fact that I gave it an 8 does not mean "yea it`s cute maybe you should play it". I gave it an 8 because that`s the overall score it should get, but on a "Is it worth my time?" scale from 1 to 10 I would give it a 9.9. Bravo! _________________________ Needles in the eyes!

I, too, have the problem with the ritual. I just cannot find the witches. Why not just write a comment here and warn us that it's a spoiler? _________________________ Needles in the eyes!

Funny thing: one guy refers to someone as using machiavellian tactics, but the story happens in XIIIth century and Machiavelli was born in late XVth. :) Not really an issue, just thought I`d mention it. _________________________ Needles in the eyes!

This was quite a fun mod. Really enjoyed the political intrigue and occasions when I really wasn't sure what choices to make. Lovely shades of nail-biting grey! Also great to see a mod that is willing to tackle adult content. Unfortunately, I also encountered the bug with the blacksmith Stannis, where he ends up at the Inn and the shop window won't open.
