An "adventure in shopping". . .
The ultimate Monty Haul, conveniently located in a store, for quick turnaround and outfitting.
The Boutique rests in a unique bubble of creation at the bottom of the Pit of Lost Hours, the ones you spent gaming. All levels, classes, races, and alignments are welcome to come and spend their money; single players only. Requires SOU and HOTU. Versions 167, 168, and 169 are tailored to those versions of NWN. Version 169 comes in two flavors, with and without a hakpak. The hak is eyecandy that restores the ruins and also affects the crypt and castle interior for certain tiles and textures only; you can put it in override to affect other modules if you like the effect, but it may be spotty.
Game play length is open: it takes about 2 hours to take a level 1 character to level 3 and a net worth of about 2.5 million gp, (bypassing the level-up mushroom), or you can go directly to the item specialty of your choice.
The Boutique is more gamelike and less arenalike than most "store" modules. No one is handing out money on demand; instead, they have their own hands out at every turn. You are expected to bring plenty of cash, tip well, and pay the highest markup for the best stuff, as in life. There are plenty of opportunities to spend a fortune: Amost everything Bioware (through HOTU and patch 1.69), custom loot, souvenir loot from other modules, and the opportunity to add enhancements to armor, weapons, and accessories. There are several money-making schemes, a Magic Mushroom that will make you grow or shrink, and a salon to help with your personal needs. Look in the Vintage Collection for a survey of modules to visit, directions to customize your own Boutique, and constantly spawning trolls to shoot. See how modmakers deal with trolls they catch.
There are no arenas and no puzzles. There are traps and locks to amuse rogues in one area. There can be two fights which are either instantly fatal or easily winnable. Play a game of "bargain roulette" and find out what sets off the Clothes Haunts. Play "Bean Counter" and see how much money you can make. Play NWN builder and make two portals go to the modules of your choice--Very easy. Play detective and find out more about new worlds, related to the Boutique.
Further instructions are scattered everywhere. "Read" the descriptions and talk to the store staff. And have fun, but don't shoot the help.
This is the BdT updated to NWN ver. 1.69. It has new items supported by that patch and some additional content; one new enhancement, about 50 new items, better organization, new looks to customize. NO HAK REQUIRED and also no major change in look.
This is the original Boutique for NWN 1.67. If you update to 1.68 the chairs will be backwards and the cloaks flesh colored. It has not been updated with all the features in the 1.68 version and I'm not supporting it.
This is exactly the same as Boutique du Temps 169, requires NWN 1.69 AND a HAK. There is NO extra content, item-wise, in the hak. It is all eyecandy, but worth it if I have to say so myself.
I'd say you have so missed the point of the mod, and the fact that money is practically lying around, that either you didn't play it or you're just trying to draw people to your own mod.

I downloaded this years ago, but recently played it again after the update. It seems pretty useful for equipping new characters. But make sure you bring your own gold!
Thanks--the trolls respawn every time you go into the Vintage area. If you want a lot, go in and out a few times.

Only problem I encountered was the lack of internet rolls to shot. I wasn't able to figure how to spawn them(except the tedious method of talking with Zoltan.)
One more vote for you, one less for the trolls!:P _________________________ Thanks Rolo:)
Unfortunately, bad habits never die ...
DrHoo, I agree with everything you said.
I had to lock up all the boards of my modules because of this scum, but I still get the estimate of happy people playing and having fun with my modules.
The important thing is that players have fun with your work, and this is worth much more than an idiot who likes to waste his time creating thousands of nicknames only for posting troll votes.
I even have the usual trolls (Kickbong) now uploading on other sites "modules" with explicit sexual content that offend me, using my nickname ... so you can imagine my anger!
DrHoo, you have my deepest sympathy and my respect.
Generally I like to thank people who bother to vote. After all these years I have few votes, and I'm usually ok with that. And I'm ok with the idea that I'll never be in the Hall of Fame because you have to have 2500 downloads of one posted mod: but I chose to make versions for the different versions of NWN as a convenience to users, which means that very few now want v. 1.68 when they could have v. 1.69.
However having so few votes makes my rank very vulnerable to petty people who would like to advertise other mods while simultaneously lowering my rank over said mods. And when I look through all the comments of all the top 50 mods, which I actually do rather often, it becomes very apparent who is skimming way too close to the "troll vote" line. Especially when I see them making inchoate rants about a mod which sound almost like the ranter actually played the mod, except for a few minor details like knowing who actually wrote it--- So all I have to say, yazik, as we say in the south here, is "Bless your heart."

No, it never has had a CEP update, because then any gear from the store would only work with CEP modules.

Will this be updated with the latest CEP version 2.4? _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.
Steve--
No, sorry, I accidentally was dropped for a while and all the top mods have been deranged. And no more forum will be given to the cause of all this trouble.

Was there an update of some type? _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.
asd, ladyandrea72....... for me, this is our "old friend" Kickbong, he raged against me and Tukaram and try to damage my name.
Mi real name, in fact, is Andrea and I was born in 1972... all data available on my profile.
See all my comments to names that aren't there any more? I'm not really talking to myself more than usual. It's responses to a troll whose own comments were deleted. While it generally tries to give me a 10, I'm afraid I have to refuse any votes from people that are known to try to manipulate ratings with frivolous votes. Thanks but no thanks.
This is starting to make me wonder--as I write this, 204 people have downloaded the Hak version. Yet only 166 have downloaded the Hak. You can't play the hak version without the hak: if you don't want the lush vision of the Boutique, you can save yourselves a double download and just go straight to the 1.69 version. You will not miss outfits, enhancements, lame jokes, they're all in the 1.69 version. The hak could be used by builders if they want to take the textures, fine with me.
Thank you, hope to get on with an update one of these days. :) I was shopping for belts and just couldn't find what I wanted... Everyone can offer suggestions for the special item they always wanted, I appreciate the ideas.
