Description
Hall of Fame Guild Prelude module
Sucked into a world you know nothing about, you soon find the same phenomenon that brought you here heralds a dark future for both this world and your own. Armed with nothing but your wits, will you be able to avert that doom?

Valeron is a land like any other land. It has seen great strife, many wars, and many kingdoms. It has seen many births, and many deaths. It is home to many, who have loved, hated, or been indifferent to the changes across the ages.

Valeron is different in only one way, from the many other worlds in our universe. The universe is like a tree, and Valeron is at its base (or root). This does not make Valeron special, or better, or much different at all, from the other parallel worlds on the tree of life. Rather, it is a position that does not mean much at all, save for when the tree is shaken. For when the tree is shaken, a leaf is torn, or a branch is clipped, the falling fruits and nuts sometimes descend near the base. Only at such a time might one notice the difference between Valeron and other worlds. This is such a time.

Note: Tales of the Sundering, except for the Prelude, follows a hub and spoke system, where each module is reached from the hub. You need to have downloaded the following module before you can travel out of the hub. The Prelude allows you to get started without any concerns about what follows.

Good introduction to what will I hope be a good series. Plus marks for XP awards for non-combat, good balance, skill checks, different enemies, avoiding usual L1 banal XP quests. _________________________ Take me out to the black, tell them I ain't coming back; Burn the land, boil the sea, you can't take the sky from me

Replaying this mod to get to the rest of the series, and remembering how much fun it is!

Excellent series!

Thanks for the kind words. Just as a clarification for those wondering, the series is eligible for the MotY competition, but excluding this mod as it was issued in the previous year. Bit of a weird situation to be in for me, to be honest, since I get no credit as a co-writer of the series, but I guess it really doesn't matter particularly (especially as it looks likely the series will place 5th anyway). I certainly wish Marc and codepoetz the best of luck though. _________________________ Works of B G P Hughes: Link AME Chairman

Just to be sure: you've seen that this module is eligible for Module of the Year? Contest is going on until April 5th. You might want to place your vote - on this or on any of the other modules, if you haven't done so already. _________________________ One feels inclined to say that the idea that man should be "happy" is not included in the plan of "creation". - Sigmund Freud

Ah - let's hope codepoetz's up for it then. ;) You're welcome. :) So this series was meant to be premium mods as well? Again, thanks for making it! :P _________________________ /Berra - NWN1 modules: Berra's Module Collection (All of Berra's NWN1 works) Interviews: NWN-PODCAST INTERVIEW GOLDEN DRAGON AWARD INTERVIEW. Personally, I'm completely done with NWN (except AME), but I can't swear that codepoetz won't finish the series off. I'm glad you enjoyed it so much. Makes resurrecting it from the Premium Module discard pile worth the effort. _________________________ Works of B G P Hughes: Link AME Chairman

This was such a completely original and polished module that I can't give you any less than a 10.00. I actually enjoyed every bit of it (that's something I don't do with all modules) . I loved the setting, the characters, the plot, dialog, atmoshpere (simply great!) game-play. I love scenarios where you are "ship-wrecked" and have to survive by finding new equipment, piece by piece. Spectacular! One thing that is even better is knowing that I have 7 additional modules to play in this series! :D Are you planning to release any more episodes or have you finished this project completely? Again, thanks to everyone involved! I had a great time. :) _________________________ /Berra - NWN1 modules: Berra's Module Collection (All of Berra's NWN1 works) Interviews: NWN-PODCAST INTERVIEW GOLDEN DRAGON AWARD INTERVIEW. I'm voting a 10 here for the entire " Tales of the Sundering " story, not only the Prelude part of it. One of the most interesting module in my opinion regarding... puzzles, but not only. I'm probably the one who hates NWN puzzles the most around. Normally, just to see a puzzle coming up in some game would be enough to make me throw my comp out of the nearest window. But not here. The first and main reason is they are... human. 'meaning doable. Fun also. And real smart, most of the time. Since I was able to figure out all of them?, I think, almost anyway, without any other help but my brain's. So believe me, if you knew my brain as much I do, you really shouldn't have any problem yourself with yours in here. Some combats, but you're fast overpowered. It's not the point here anyway. But puzzles, this interesting Hub architecture, loads of really bright ideas and inventions. What else? Give it a try. This serial should be more known around. _________________________ @ + jml, level 52 "Overgod?
