Description
Loosely based on 'Day of Al'Akbar' TSR 1986. You are the hired escort of a small merchant caravan as it makes it's way through the desert to the ancient city of Al'Emir. The wagons and goods belong to the Desert Nomads, a broad term for a diverse people. The Nomads are said to posses powerful secrets, both martial and magical... a characteristic they share with the desert itself. This is my first attempt at building, and I hope to get feedback on how I can improve.
No, I take that back, I think I did find that problem with Stormwing. I'm not going publish again for just this fix, but it will be included with the next version, and thanks again for the report. In case anyone wants to fix it the hard way: open the mod in the toolset, edit the "forceconv" script. change line 11 from: object oPC = GetEnteringObject(); to object oPC = GetFirstPC();

jbaudrand: Thanks for your feedback and vote. Frankly, I don't know why Stormwing is attacking the second player; if I can't fix it, I'll at least add it to the known issues - don't get the chace to test multi much so I really appreach the bug report. Your comments about the final fight have convinced me to make all those bandtis more difficult. I am going to finish this story using NWN1, as I have no immediate plan to run out and buy NWN2 any time soon. I'm glad you liked the oasis, that seems to be the most popular thing in this mod (except for Steve, heh); I hope I can come up with something as interesing in Act II.

and the final fight is not hard, especially if we have all items get on the map. It should have been more difficult, I think.... _________________________ You want an intro for your mod? Link Contact us: Link

a good module, no major bug (except 1.5 dool quest) maybe some quest are too linear (the imperial key then secret key)... But it was very interesting to cure the oasis. Hope we see chapter 2 on never1 bug in multi: if two players enter the area with blue dragon, it turn hostile, one player must talk to him to enable the quest, then the second one can enter the area. _________________________ You want an intro for your mod? Razide0506: Let me expand my earlier comments to address some other points you made. There is indeed treasure in the Desert Rocks for no reason, after some thought, I've decided to take the majority of that out and put some more interesting/appropiate stuff in there instead, that was one of the first areas built and I wasn't very creative with it yet. Your character was one level higher than the recomendations if they are followed to the letter (you were not a support class), and also a strong combat build, maybe I'll beef up those bandits a bit. I'm kinda hesitant to instal the CEP 'cause the last time I tried it (much earlier version) it messed up my install so bad that I was lucky if 1 out of 10 models loaded, I'll think about giving it another chance.

Razide0506: Thank you for your comments and vote. a few SPOILERS Yes, many of the conversations are a bit flat, I might expand them at some point, but right now I just want to finish the story - I promise my next mod will have really good conversations. I think I know what the problem with the armor quest if you don't start the quest before you find the armor (by asking Fahad if he has anything special) the quest gets confounded. I don't know what the problem with the doll quest is, but I will test it out and see if I can find the problem.

Just finished playing. A couple of comments: * There seem to be a few conversation problems. Often, if I talked to someone after I had already spoken to them, they'd repeat the last conversation. This is easily fixed and would add a lot to the realism. Also, at one point I said something to the merchant like "I hear you know a lot about this area" before I had talked to the caravan leader and recieved that information. * I got the armor, but couldn't complete the quest. The dialogue option from the merchant to do so never came up (as it did with the sword). * I completed the doll quest even though I never recieved it, and even though I didn't have the doll (I think). In general, I found the module to be a little to generous with treasure and XP. Finding random treasure out in the rocks in the desert kind of bugged me, because there was no reason for it to be there. Some of the XP awards for completing quests seemed really generous too. Also, starting out as a 4/4 Fighter/Cleric, I think I was a bit too strong, though some fights were challenging. This module would really benefit from the content in the CEP. Have you played The Sultan's Guard? It uses the CEP to really good effect, particularly when it comes to weapons (it also restricts what weapons and armor are available, which nicely adds to the realism). That module also uses custom, arabian-flavored music, which I'd also recommend for this module. Anyway, overall I did enjoy the module. I liked the Arabian setting, the first potion challenge was really interesting and well done, you did interesting things with the transitions, and the story kept me fairly engaged. Hope you get this finished eventually.
