A full release of the Persistant World NeverQuest which is a remake of the MMORPG EverQuest.
Due to all the Requests to release this we have decided to make it available to everyone. We want someone to finish the module, there is a ton of content already added to it but not in game, and if you are interested in our balance formulas to continue our work (Monster and item stat conversion info) please email us.

"people who love EverQuest get it ;) no one else matter :P Have fun EQ players!"
So, if I don't like Everquest and I like this unfinished PW even less, which by the way is in the wrong section of the Vault, I don't matter... hmm... good to know!

UPDATE July 2008 - I'm making another stab at working on MWMDragon's NeverQuest mod.
I've updated the mod to NWN v1.69 and the CEP v2.1
There is a lot of work ahead so don't expect anything soon...
The server is Neverquest Open Beta on PW Action if interested on checking it out...

cant argue with the above as there's nothing to do in this module... maybe move it to the gameworld section as not to confuse folks looking for a story module.

I like what you're trying to do but these area designs are just plain awful. There's no placeables really to detail them well.
I just wanted to check to see if anyone is planning on completing the module that mwmDragon started? I was on the official NQ website and most of the areas seem complete. I am hoping that someone might have picked up this module and have decided to finish up the areas that weren't 100% complete.
I see that others are mentioning expanding the module to include other areas like the two other starting continents. I think that is a great idea, but would think that before any expansion is attempted, there should be a common goal to complete the project mwmDragon left to the community. Is anyone in the process of doing this?
Thanks
John

I just finished and uploaded the update I was working on to my module. So will probably start working on NQ next, module wise. _________________________ "Knowledge knows no bounds! But hindsight might wish that there had been some!"

datamaster, i will be more than glad to send you any additional content that I create, right now i'm working on reactivating the Nexus Scion, It's a dirty hack so it's not working like it should but you do get transported to the Nexus at the moment.
My main focus is to stick with most of Dragon's scripting style to keep the current resouces used at a minimum.
But I do use the Script Generator as a reference.

Madrabit, if you also create any additional content, pls send me the erf(s) too. I sent you an email, so you should have mine. _________________________ "Knowledge knows no bounds! But hindsight might wish that there had been some!"

I have another thing or two I want to finish on the module I am working on, then I will start on NQ some(adding areas like Kaladim, Butcherblock, etc.) I will probably make the areas in a separate module, then export to erf when ready, and integrate. _________________________ "Knowledge knows no bounds! Hey madrabit and buddy warrior. Good to see you 2 are still working on NQ. I'll start poking at Dragon to get him interested again. Hey madrabit where are you hosting the mod I'de like to join in once in a while.

Will do Madrabit7. I have another module I am adding something to, my "Training Area" module. And I have a few other things going on IRL, but I will start working on some more continent(s)/area(s) for NQ from EQ. Will try to keep you updated as I work on it. _________________________ "Knowledge knows no bounds! But hindsight might wish that there had been some!"

I don't know if I will add more areas to NQ, since I never played EQ, but I am adding NQ to my PW "World Of Gnarda",
this will give us effectively 4 continents.
We'll be using MWMDragon's scripting throughout the world so it will have that distinctive NQ feel everwhere you go.
We have a custom built heavy duty server more than able to handle this new project.
NQ is "Public" you can add areas if you want, and send me a copy of the new area in a ERF file and any notes on mobs would help too, I would love to finish some areas, especially the tunnels....

I won't be posting MWMDRAGON's development info, you'll have to ask him for it, as for the crafting, he removed the crafting system after UOAbigail's computer crashed. The crafting was put on-hold at that point.
I'm working on putting a basic crafting system into NQ, but it'll be a while since i'm working on both "NQ" and "World of Gnarda" (A revamp of Land of Gnarda).
For now my server Gnarda is hosting "NQ".

I finally got around to trying the module, and from what I have seen so far. Great work. But I do think it needs more areas, esp the other 2 of the initial 3 continents. I spent lots of time with many characters on EQ playing in the areas of Kaladim, Butcherblock, Greater Faydark, Crushbone, and the areas nearby to those.
I think I might see about adding some of those areas. I once tried working on a Crushbone only module. Never finished it tho. Was having problems with the spawning.
Was someone else planning on adding to this? _________________________ "Knowledge knows no bounds! But hindsight might wish that there had been some!"

Ok. Thanks for the info Madrabit, I hope they do fix things like that. I haven't been keeping up with any of the NWN2 most recent fixes. _________________________ "Knowledge knows no bounds! But hindsight might wish that there had been some!"

I know there used to be a conversion formula for EQ mobs to NWN somewhere. Would you be able to post that ? Also, any info of the Smithing and Fletching ?
Posted by madrabit7 at 2007-04-10 21:54:31 Voted 10.00
MWMDragon realized it would be impossible for now to try to port NQ to NWN2, until there is a considerable fix for NWN2 it will be impossible to create it right now due to the size.
He got some 10+ areas made in NWN2 and the file size was over 700 megs !?!?!?, whereas NWN1 NQ is way much smaller but contained over 130 areas..
Not to mention all the problems with the multiplayer client for NWN2.

I was just wondering if anyone has thought about maybe making a NWN2 copy of Neverquest? _________________________ "Knowledge knows no bounds! But hindsight might wish that there had been some!"

Weird indeed ???
What MWMDragon means is open the fish_fishing script,
scroll down to where the entry says,
string sCFISHING3 = GetLocalString(oArea, "CFISHING");
Change it to,
string sCFISHING3 = GetLocalString(oArea, "CFISHING3");
It's a typo to us, but to players it's a bug :P

wierd it cut my post again. anyways change CFISHING to "CFISHING3"

Here is a script error found by Madrabit7. It's not really a bug as it is a typo :)
In the fishing script you can see the error
--Snip--
// PC and Fishing info
object oPC = GetItemActivator();
object oFishingRod = GetItemActivated();
int nBaited = GetLocalInt(oFishingRod, "baited");
int nCanFish = GetLocalInt(oPC, "canfish");

I'm temporarily hosting NQ on my server Gnarda, under PW Action for those who like to play. It is the exact one that Dragon was running before he took his offline. We're planning on making some additions to it soon. And, if there is enough of response maybe Dragon will continue his work on NQ.

I haven't played it when it was online, but I have thought about it(just never really got into multiplayer). I have been hoping for months(if not over a year) that this would be released in this fashion. _________________________ "Knowledge knows no bounds! I have to agree with MWMDragon, anyone can throw together something quick, but for a really good mod it takes planning and time.
I enjoyed playing on his server during the past few re-builds and enjoyed everyone that was there, and i'll miss those that have moved on.
Thank-you Dragon for the help you provided me with the building of PW Gnarda and hope to bump heads with you again sometime.
You deffinatly created a monster, hehehehe.
