Description
Nominated for 2007 Module of the Year!
"Time Becomes a Loop" is a story-driven journey over, under, and through Time. Time . . . does it flow like a river to the sea, branching into streams and rivulets? Or is it a lake, filling with millions of raindrops whose splashes, however brief, affect it irrevocably and permanently?
You have come to the outskirts of Pleasanton to visit Moebius for the summer, as you often do. Moebius is a long-time friend of the family, and although you usually call him "Uncle", he isn't related to you by blood. You have been helping him out with the many inventions he is working on -- most recently, a device that will allow one to travel back in time, called the Diurnal Displacement Device (DDDevice, for short). Hopefully it will be finished soon, and you can try it out . . .

almost perfect. Time travel is not a thing you get to see often in modules nowadays:) _________________________ Thanks Rolo:)

A neat mod about time travel. It was short, but just the right length for what it was.

Very nice little mod. Nothing to add that hasn't already been mentioned. :) _________________________ The less you know, the more you believe.

Well since I reviewed this module some time back, it is only right that I do my bit by voting on it since it is so close to HoF. An enjoyable module, in both SP & MP (which I played after the review). I quite enjoyed the maze to be honest, mainly because you left clever clues as to which way to proceed ;)
Well done, and thank you for sharing your work with us. I do hope you will release more modules. _________________________ QSW -NWVault Reviewers Forum

I'm sorry I forgot to vote and comment before. It's been some time now since I've played this mod and I don't recall the details anymore, but I remember I liked it and it deserves to be in the hall of fame!

a nice game :] the ending was quite intresting and i didnt quite expect it. I never under stood the planar agent, but in a way i thought he (or it?) was cool :O you get a 10 in my books, way to go!

This module was lots of fun. Only drawback was that the time maze was sometimes difficult to figure out, causing backtracking. No big deal. Would definitely recommend this mod to anyone looking for some fun and a challenge. Nice work!
Yeah, I actually hadn't played Hex Coda until after we finished this mod (though I'm a big fan of Gagne's stuff), but when I played Hex Coda I was surprised at some of the similarities, though of course his has way bigger scope! _________________________ Time Becomes a Loop - short, story-driven time travel mod!

Cool module. The setting, style and music were a bit like Hex coda, which is a good thing.
The beginning, running around in town was a bit of a chore. But served to introduce the villagers.
The combat was a bit easy, I like it that way, I didn't even bring magic weapons along...
Maybe one more timewarp complicating things even further, or revealing something, would have
elevated this to amongst the masterpieces. As it is, the module is great and very enjoyable.
PS. I liked not being able to understand everything the "agent" said, or all the doors in there.

A very enjoyable module, excellent fun! :)
Good dialogue & NPCs gave a simple town a feeling of home, and the variations on the ways to complete the 'fetch' quests were enjoyed and appreciated. I thought the 'maze' was handled superbly with a fairly linear style keeping you on track and the storyline is a perfetly executed time travel story.
Played in an MP party of 3 and had no trouble or bugs that affected gameplay. We did get, right at the very end, a 'familiar voice' appear in halfling form in the room with us after all was done which shouldn't happen? (It was with 1.69 patch so maybe....?)
Anyway, great fun, reccomended to all. Congratualtions on the Golden Dragon and I hope to see IAT2 very soon! :) _________________________ Check out the latest reviews of new modules: The NWVault Reviewers Guild

Nice short mod, good visuals, no bugs found. Liked it a lot. Maze was a bit overdone, but still fun. Good job. _________________________ Click Link to view content submitted by me.

**SPOILERS**
Another thing, I think the time guard was quite an interesting character and his speech was quite fitting for his role, BUT ... perhaps it was a little TOO complicated? Sure, I understood the basics of it but I have to admit that I had a hard time understanding. :D But perhaps that was your intention? In that case, you most truly suceeded. :)

I think this was a pretty interesting module. One thing that impressed me quite a bit was the intro movie. It was spectacular! :D The story and plot-twists were very interesting and you always wondered what would happend next and what the different characters' hidden purposes were. Quite interesting.
**SPOILERS**
It began as a simple "fetch-quest" but changed to something entirely different with time and time-travel as a focus (which was quite expected). :D I have to admit that the fetch quests kinda made me sigh, since after having played many modules on the vault, you've become quite satisfied with auch "fetch quests" since you've have already completed such quests about a thousand times before. Mostly because they don't feel that fun anymore. It's always like, go there, get this and bring it back. Boring. But the rest of the module made up for most of that though since the rest was very interesting. Kind of reminded me of Stefan Gagne's HexCoda (which can also be found on the vault).
The time-loop was very interesting and I couldn't have guessed that final plot-twist regarding the one actually responsible for it all. Also the plot-twist regarding the Bots was quite a surprise as well but made so much sense when it was finally revealed. Very interesting. Time-loops can do horrible things if they are misused.
There were some things minior bugs though. It seems like in the end when you return to the town when two months have passed, that if you enter one of the houses and exit it, you'll enter the town-area where the kids are still alive and the statue in the middle of the city is not longer broken. Perhaps you should take a look into this? Also I think the "time-dimension" area was pretty cool but I still think you should've used more placeables to make the area feel more original. And I wouldn't have used the castle tileset. I would've used a more interesting tileset, but perhaps that's just me.
**SPOILERS END**
Overall though, I enjoyed myself quite a bit and I think your mods deserves at least a 9.00 vote. Thanks for making it! _________________________ /// Berra (Hall of Fame, Reviewer's Award and Golden Dragon Winner):

Played this multiplayer over at Neverwinter Connections, with two other people, all level 6 PCs.
Very enjoyable in multiplayer, making one person the primary with Moebius worked out well. No multiplayer bugs, although the cutscene cameras didn't always work properly (hard to avoid, though). Interesting plot, intelligent and well-crafted NPC dialog, and some novel features (including good use of custom content) make this module well worth playing.
All three of us who played it vote for a sequel, hope there is one. :)

Sorry, I also wanted to add how impressed with your movie I was. It looked like there was a lot of work put into it. It was worth the download time.
thanks

Short, fun play. I thought the maze was annoying and took away from the gameplay. The time travel element was not fully realized and the game seems to miss out on its potential. The story is interesting but again could have more depth. It is worth a play for a fun evening.
Thanks for the contribution.

Interesting story by using time travel as the main theme. However, the main problem of the mod is that the dialogs of the "time guard" is too complicated (or technical?) to understand. I can't even understand most of the meanings of these dialogs...
=== May contain spoiler ===
Also, if the guard is so powerful, why not arrange the arrest of that time rouge before he create such a havoc?

It was great! I can't really think of anything that put me off. Maybe a bit more challenging encounters. I've played it with a level 7 wizard and I've found it mostly easy.
*Spoilers*
I liked the music, the dialogues and the intro movie was awesome. Great atmosphere inside the maze even though it was big. I loved the story and I do hope that there's going to be a sequel.
Ah, yes. The only problem was that when I fought with Moebius the basilisk attacked him.
*End Spoilers*
Again, great module. Well done :). It gets 10 from me.

I loved it. Even when it was predictable, I was excited to actually do it all.
I knew I could count on you two for witty banter.

Very fun. A few things could have been done a little better, but overall a good mod.
Thanks so much for the review, QSW! I took your advice and changed the Roleplaying to "Medium" instead of "Heavy" -- I was thinking of it more as how much story there was in the module, versus how much your character can be themselves, but I think you're right. _________________________ Time Becomes a Loop - short, story-driven time travel mod!

Thank you for an evenings entertainment, I enjoyed this module very much. I hope that you both make more, as I should enjoy playing more of your work. See review for comments/feedback.

What a great module! Perfect for playing through in an evening. The custom music in the niche areas really helped separate those scenes from the ones in the village. Good use of cutscenes, and combat was balanced. One idea for an improvement though - When you enter past versions of the village, you could reveal the map to the PC as they've already explored the area.

I really enjoyed this module! Thanks for putting in all the time and effort so we could play it. I'm sure all the ramblings of the timecop guy (can't remember his name) took a while to think up. It's hard to make nonsense that seems like it might actually mean something. Since I played multiplayer, I think I would have preferred that any member of the party could open the doors in the maze. I'm a little too impatient to wait for somebody else to do it. (I know, I should have been the party leader.) That's it for me. Thanks!
