Description
This version updates prior releases, hopefully eliminating the intermittent, if infamous, hall bug. It also addresses player concerns for improvements and fixes, especially the city gates bugs. Overall, this takes the original Prelude and expands the story line, adds areas and adventures, gives Aribeth a second suitor (you, please play as a male), and provides a reason a level 1 PC would get a personal invitation to the academy (PC is a U.S. Navy vet). Note: This module has explicit Christian content.
Nice Mod,, I over looked the Bible bits,, as the Mod is great,, Now waiting on the Place Holder to be filled with the next part :p _________________________ Dalethfc

I'm going to try to revert his Mac patch to 1.68 (and make sure he's not using one of my CEP "tweaked" versions of the mod) and see if that takes care of the problem. I'll let y'all know.

The reported conversaion bug (due to a master dialogue for all of Arianne's pre-Neverwiter appearances) has been fixed. Will hold off posting an updated mod for a while to give you all a chance to report more bugs/suggest improvements. _________________________ My dear friend C.S. Gwydion: Will look into the inn bug. Am still tending to test per normal, rather than trying to break things. Looks like time to put 3.6.2 into the toolset... On that area transition, it may well be a Mac thing. I have never had a problem, nor has anyone else. The only thing I know of that will prevent its firing is failure to complete all the dialogues first, and this is a deliberate 'safety' thing. I know nothing about console commands, so can not help. _________________________ My dear friend C.S. Having been an avid fan of Pilgrim's Progress when I was a Christian, I was delighted to see poltava's application of the formula in this module. Even as a non-Christian, I approve of the way he handles his allegorical tale. This module has inspired me to begin working on something similar for those of a more Pagan bent, like myself.

By the way, I'm still fairly early in the game. I'd like to let poltava know that there is a slight bug outside the Wayside Inn. If you try to talk to your companion _before_ going inside and _after_ the normal dialog, the module believes you already have gone into the inn and whisks you away on the "date," making you miss part of the story and leaving the player confused about the passage of time which never occured.

This module caught my eye, so I came back from NWN2 to check it out. I was raised a Christian but am not one currently. Still, I've been finding the module entertaining even though I would have personally preferred the religious references a bit more tongue in cheek (Think the Blues Brothers on their mission). I recommended it to a friend and, unfortunately, he is the one ending up with a technical problem. We are both using NWN v1.69 and CEP v2.1. Mine is working with no problem. Unlike me, he is using a Mac. On the first transition (the one which seems to be triggered by proximity -- there is no blue transition area), his game crashes. Since mine works, I figure it to be either a Mac issue or a Mac 1.69 issue. If anyone has any ideas, I'd greatly appreciate it. He loves the concept and would like to continue the game. The only thing I can think of involves using the console commands to "jump" to the next area and bypass that strange first transition. I know enough to understand the concept, but I have no idea what the mechanics of such are. If it's not a Mac bug, or can't be fixed, could someone help with the console work-around?

Character: Player is free to pick any sort of character class they choose; paladin being 'prefered' only in that such a PC would have a more natural affinity with Aribeth. To provide a pre-made character seems overly restrictive. As for the portrayal in game, only a certain type of person would be selected for the mission, not the 'typical' type. Over the years, I have known several hundred folks (from several countries) who would fit the bill readily, and the church I attend has over 4000 of them. The OC explicitly states that the PC is an outsider invited to come. The world change is no stranger that that found in Narnia, which millions of readers over 5 decades have had little or no problem with. Suggest that you relax and enjoy the game, there is more to it than what you have seen so far. As for the content, the description expressly states its nature; which, by the way, compared to the overwhelming mass of NWN modules (never mind computer games in general), is a tiny percentage. _________________________ My dear friend C.S. Just what we need, Christians demanding the alteration of mere game... ugh. Well, at least its not as bad as all those websites where their saying DD is the work of the devil. Okay, I'll sum up my opinion while attempting to be as open-minded as possible. The storyline is unusual, and its logic involving the character is odder. I'd like to say that being the fellow is human from earth, and that the US military doesn't give its soldiers big suits of metal to wear, its an oddity for the favored class to be paladin. Considering the current path of the game, I'm thinking that usage of an entirely new class would be helpful, and allowing people to download this special character. We must also look at the moral code of 99.999999% earthlings. We are a chaotic neutral race, with anything outside of that rare. I suppose if your in the military long enough, you might be brainwashed into being lawful neutral. Now, I'd expect if our god was sending you as an avatar, he'd act as much as our god normally does as possible. The god, our god, thee very god that made humans, prefers humans to work on their own only helping them in times of extreme need, rarely intervening on our before. He cares little of us worshipping him, because not only is he a powerful god, he is a god that does not need followers mindlessly following mortal idiots preaching to be loved or cared about (after all we are already grateful we exist). In short the character should be lawful neutral or neutral good, as it matches the alignments commonly seen on earth. The character is probably along the lines of being a ranger with no divine spells and no animal companion. Next, Ariebth already had you as a suitor after Fenthick died, and considering how much she loved him, the theme of this 'love story' is bizarre. Finally, I'd like to say the original storyline of the OC was more logical. You were training at one of Neverwinter's numerous academies when your apparently superior skills attracted the attention of important figures (Aribeth and Nasher). I mean, being teleported from earth to another dimension, another planet, with completely different laws of physics and reality, combined with being able to instantly be taken seriously by everyone and also gain immediate fame and prestige, sounds kinda... retarded. Hopefully this gets entertaining. Right now it looks more like some crazy christian extremist is trying to get his whiny voice heard. _________________________ @===============================================@ Vinchenzo made a post here. Plz check out my entries. I'm currently making a few simple modules, designing 3 special characters, and hope to someday be good this stuff. This is Vinchenzo, finishing his post with the following advice: Don't use Latin improperly (Lupis means grey, Rufus is red, Canid is dog, so on.) Furries annoy me with their improper usage of such. And I'm a furry!!! Ugh... Don't vote for Beta things unless told they are finished, unless posted specifically by the author. Don't abuse the vote and post function, don't vote for your own/friends stuff just to get a high vote. Don't flame vote either just to be an ass. There is a voting system for how the points are used, even I forget, but we should follow it (and tattoo it to our forehead, lol) @===============================================@

The revised, and hopefully totally fixed, version has been submitted today. This addresses the known bugs, issues raised, and provides for backtracking to the forest for those who either forgot to see the girls again or declined to help but have a change of heart. _________________________ My dear friend C.S.
