Description
The Bastard of Kosigan modules are set in an alternative medieval Europebut one with lots of fantasy inside Theyre set in the XIIIth century, but a XIIIth Century where you can still find old elven cities in the depths of ancient forests and dwarven kingdoms hidden in the northeastern part of Germany... The Inquisition of the Holy Roman Church is hunting down magic users and a New World is about to born... But the forces of the Old World, with its magic and its legendary creatures, are still there...trying to survive.
Revelations and Blood and Tears are episodes 3 and 4 in the Bastard of Kosigan series. Its possible to play them even if you havent played the previous episodes (Exile of the West and The Bastard of Kosigan), but youll miss out on a lot of choices, options, information and fun! The previous modules have placeholders that carry over to these modules, based on the choices you made.
In this mod your character will learn much about his own family past and will have to defend Kosigan against the french invaders.
BY THE WAY: here is a series of 4 portraits you can use for your Bastard character! :)

2 Prestige classes for the Bastard of Kosigan series. Note that you MUST get this hak to play even if you don't want to play with the classes.
The "classe.2da" file must be put in the "override" folder of NWN
The "kosigan_english.tlk" file must be put in the "tlk" folder of NWN
PLEASE see the readme that goes along this hak.
Well this is annoying, the game keeps telling me Mordred and Alexandra are dead when I didn't kill them, I even went back and did the introduction to get the not dead placeholder and it's still doing it.

Played through three times now. Firstly a cleric/cot, rg/ftr/BG (intelligent evil) and a sorceror! That is how much I enjoyed the game and surprisingly the sorceror character ended up with the most xp and finished a sa 2oth lvl charcter.
When are the remainder available in English, please. I wish I could speak French.
Previous episodes placed all the required HAKs together in a single one for the module. This episode leaves them as a bunch of individual HAKs that makes installation more difficult, but more especially makes it more difficult to uninstall after playing. After installing a few modules that each require half a dozen or more HAKs, it's impossible to tell which HAKs belong to which modules.
I would be happy to do the work of collating them all into a single HAK for the module, if you'd be willing to post it after.

Awesome adventure! Can not wait to see what's next. Of course the translation of the fifth episode I do not see yet been achieved, however I hope. I know that translation is indeed very tedious and time consuming issue _________________________ Everything you do has a meaning...
Ok, I found the problem with Emeric. The dialog choice at the end where you can "ask a few more things" fails. You have to choose the line "Well, thanks for the information..." instead.
I have encountered a couple of problems with this module. After I talk with the "little prince" I always get the same initial converstation. It looks like the flag isn't set properly in the conversation. I noticed this especially when I tried to go to the barracks and it kept telling me I had to talk with the little prince.
I manually set the flag so I could enter the barracks (and get a different dialogue with the prince). Everthing looks like it works properly, but the soldiers don't follow me out of the barracks and I cannot start the battle with the ogres either with the pennant or the horn. What did I miss here?

Wow! I liked that series sooo much that I even played it in english...Can't stop playing since 8 days!...
It's charming to see a series incorporate real life history and not come off as weird. It's just annoying to have to reload back to before the big ogres fight just because I didn't pick up the shovel from the village..and I don't know what exact command to use to spawn it. Sorry, I hate nitpicking like this when I've liked so much about it so far, it's just..ugh :(

Thanks for this great Mod. Your story with Angels and Demons was quite interessting. I´ve played "Tears to Tiara" before with a quite similar concept with evil angels. xD
I really like the idea with the tokkens. Also the save/load Bug I had in part two did not occur again. So overall 10 points :)

is there any news on the english translation of the next part.... 'wants to play it!' but my french is not good enough to play that version.. :(
The holy grail myth or whatever it's called about some royal bloodlines in France being descended from Jesus has been turned on its head here, thus making the PC being descended from satan and has to fight a so called angel. I'm sorry but I found this reference so disturbing, that I stopped playing and not having finished the game, I haven't voted either (that would be unfair to the author). (And no I'm not Christian but Muslim.)
The pros of this series are:
Excellent music (loved "evening falls) and excellently designed areas. The areas are a delight to look at. The fight in the village was very well designed where strategy came into play.
The story was interesting, especially the various intrigues and politics of being a bastard and having to make headway in society against terrible odds.

Was fun, congratz to all involved in the project! The story is well told and the twists are really interesting. Dialog seemed to be really cool for the most part.
Revelations had the most engaging twist of the plot when the story of the Lords of Chaos and the Angels was told, and the strategic options at the battle captured my attention pondering the pros and cons of each choice. That module alone would have gotten a higher rating!
Blood and Tears had a great start then got disappointing in several areas. I never found Erine - which I wanted to keep as a lover while married for political reasons to the daughter of the Duke. Marie died to what seemed to be a trap at the Tyrant's cocoons (meh). The decisions that would affect the battle, like how I dealt with Hudley never seemed to be taken into account as Emeric provided much more solid help than a bunch of soldiers could. Not to mention the battle themselves didn't have the strategic feel from Revelations and were more a HnS fest ... nothing against HnS, which I enjoy, but after teasing with Revelations I expected more of the same. The horn also never gave me the option for the fire storm and getting to actually start against the ogres was a chore of revisiting every area 3+ times before finally getting the grey guard in position which allowed the final convo at the barracks (there's something weird with Emeric's convo in the dungeons).
All in all, I have to say 1 thing: WRITE A BOOK!
I'll gladly buy :)

Wow. That word pretty much sums it up for me. Using placeholders to customize the plot of each module, commanding an entire army while doing more than mindlessly attacking, and a story good enough to be a novel. Brilliant. I can't wait for part five, but I'm glad this was translated for us, because this is a gem.
While on the subject of translation, a big thank you to the translator. I can't even imagine how much dialog you had to go through. Certainly three times more than the average module, and we the players appreciate that effort.

Well, here I am again, totally hooked on this story. It has been sometime since I have been completely enthralled with any plot. I don't think there is much more to say about this piece of work that I haven't already said about the first 2 chapters. Looking forward to playing them all again when you finally finish translating the next chapter into English. Keep up the great work.

"When I started "Blood and Tears", even though I allied myself with Mordred and had the "Baron" token, I was told that not only where he and Alex dead, but apparently, I'm also the one who killed them? This sort annoyed me to much to focus on any other details, and I stopped playing. Did I do something wrong?"
Ok, i found a way to fix that.
1. After playing "Revelations", export your character.
2. Load the "Revelations Introduction" AGAIN
3. Talk to the girl and redefine your tokens (ex: disable and that enable again the story line you what)
4. Export your Char
5. Load the "Blood and Tears" with that char.
I hope this would be helpful.

OK, I'll post my commentary on all the English translated parts to date against this thread :)
In short, thoroughly enjoyed, although I began in order of publishing, so, timewise, part 2, then 1 (then 2 again thinking that they would link up) then 3/4.
My first comment - excelent, a real story that you can get your teeth into, with so many little sides and alternatives that I'm not sure even the mod's author's can play them all! ;-) I know I certainly didn't from some of the scripted responses to later conversations and also having played more than once some 'known' lines were not available.
Part 2 (chronologically) caused me some grief as loading saved games kept on crashing my NWN, this was not dependent upon any specific area, it happened in all areas - this issue did not happen in any of the other parts.
Fantastic - can;t wait for part5 to be translated - my french is not up to the detailed dialogues in this series.
HELP! I'm enjoying this series immensely - but... my understanding is that Blood and Tears is supposed to start automatically at the end of Revelations, HOWEVER... after I talk to Berik and the narrative says that he and I return to Kosigan, nothing happens. If I try to exit the village, I get the message that "many things have happened in Kosigan, but I'll have to load the next module". I DO have "Blood and Tears.mod" in the mod folder. Am I doing something wrong?
Now, I DID try exporting my PC and starting Blood and Tears as a new campaign, but almost half of my placeholders disappeared and the starting dialogue didn't match the choices I'd made, which I would guess is a result of the missing placeholders?
Just hoping someone can get me started on Blood and Tears with the proper placeholders & storyline intact - many thanks in advance - I'm eager to continue this awesome campaign!

Problem solved!
Finished the module - witing for sequel number 5!
Is Revelations supposed to link directly into Blood & Tears? I've got all the files loaded, but when trying to leave after the party, I'm told I need to load the next module. I tried exporting my character & manually starting Blood & Tears, but many of my placeholders disappear if I do this... Help!
