I think this mod feels like older d and d to me.It has some nice touches to it and is unique in several ways. Its not your typical server.Things look different there the way things are placed out.Voted 9.
Just a note to everyone: There are items that are ingredients required for a custom smith inside the Legion of Thuul HQ located in Kalynan. You must spawn keys in DM mode to enter this HQ. There is also a portal there that warps you to the undercity of Acheron.

Very colorful adventure. I like the use of flavor text on items and placables. The story really needs a cool ending, though I've yet to complete the module, I'm very close. I'm hoping to at least get a cool speech from the King when I'm done.
Really cool use of items and properties, cool original items. And though I dislike grinding (which there isn't really, you gain levels and power too quickly, though it is still VERY fun), the treasure was a little monty haul with me being able to get the close to top notch stuff within the first quarter of the adventure.
While you (say you) are technically an amateur you show some awesome skills in item and area design. Really cool stuff! Make more!
Yes there is a lot more I would have liked to have made on here but I am only an amateur, and this has been a huge undertking as it was for me, as well as limited time to work on it. FYI the crafting system is the basic NWN crafting, I had experimented with getting another crafting sytem but could not get it to function.

poops.
I guess the only thing this module needs are:
1. more quests. There seems to be some items which are designed to be quest items.
2. henchmen
3. a little more flavor in the text, specifically with conversations. You did a great job with the text in the areas.
4. Also, I am completely lost with the crafting system.
There are only the 2 quests and the one henchmen. I found that due to the complexity of the dungeon, henchmen usually would become stranded or lost in some of the areas. Glad you had fun.

More questions:
I only found 1 henchman. Are there others around? I found the lizardman henchie.

More questions:
were there only 2 quests? I only found 2. (The king's father and the druid.) If there are others, where do we find them?

A very good solid dungeon crawl. I had lots of fun.
Spoilers
My only major question is I did not realize it had ended. I rememebr the PNP version. There were 3 temples. So I was expecting more. There is a door in the temple which goes no-where. Maybe a little fanfare proclaiming your incredible deed!.

Aside from some minor bugs this was an excellent dungeon crawl--well done! _________________________ World of Abred Forums: Link

Looks like some solid fun. Is this thing solo-able by a blackguard build? Or should I bring a Ring of Regeneration and Greater Swordsman/Brawler/Archer belts? =p
Glad to hear you got it. Thanks for the heads up on the error message I will check into it, as I mentioned before if I need to make some revisions I will post and re-submit the mod.

Hi Hardblade!
Arghhhhh! :)
I *did* have the journal all along! I've been going nuts for over a week now trying to find something I already had.
In case it's important, here is the exact message I see when checking the Journal - which I got upon finding the book:
Oh well, it was still fun playing a little longer, and I tried to adjust my vote since I actually finished the game now... not sure if it will let me though.
Nelium: The journal is dropped when you destroy the undead king Golan. Return this to the king of Kalynan. It is a plot item and can't be sold but if you never recovered it then this might be an issue depending on how the game would reload after a save, it might cause an issue possibly.

Hi Hardblade,
Thanks for the detailed reply, but I'm really stumped. I've searched every inch of that level, plus the upper, plus the wastelands, and there just aren't any bad guys left to kill! :)
One possible explanation I just noticed is an error/blank Journal entry. Do you think that may have happened when I encountered this mystery undead boss? I really didn't know there was a special journal involved with finding the King's father, so I may have sold it along with so many others! What exactly is it called, and if I can buy it back - do I need to show it to the King perhaps?
Sorry if this is too Spoilery for posting here, but I need closure! :)
Nelium...you STILL can't find him...LOL I'll give you one hint. He IS on the the temple of orcus level right after the wastelands...he is an undead boss and you must kill him to aqquire the journal. Good luck.
The combat levels being mixed up on some levels is entirely on purpose as you sometimes fight wave after wave of undead along with some bosses...I wanted to progress through the level to be fairly quick but yet still have you battle consistently through them.
I am not sure what the issue may be with the druid boss other than it might have something to to with their animal empathy ability as I have repaired the factions, I will have to play with this further to determine what is going on.
As for the issue of lack of directions, the point of the dungeon is exploration, it would not feel the same if you knew exactly where to go , in the quests you are given a task and a general overview, there are several hints in the dungeon in the form of journals/diaries of dead adventurers that offer some hints as to what those charcters were doing or looking for. Also the inn in Kalynan is a good source for rumors about what you may face in the dungeon.
As for the long walk back...I have provided gateway stones for fast travell. Simply use the stone on yourself to create a home portal at your favorite shop, when you want to go back to the shop simply use the stone on yourself again and open a return portal and you can warp to the vendor, then enter your home portal when your done and you will be transported right back to where you were.
As for some of the bosses respawning I had left it like this for those that wish to utilize this module for use as a PW which would utilize the legion facilities (a DM would need to spawn the keys to enter this complex).
Most of the creatures you face you should be well prepared for if played through properly...if one rushes through it they will stumble into areas they are ill equipped for and get slaughtered.
As for your affliction of this mystery disease, I have never come accross this in over 5 years so I think it must be an isolated incident.
Glad you enjoyed the module, anf thank you for your comments.

Just a short follow-up post to let you know that I tried to reset the faction issue again and it worked this time! I had to un-equip everything and then was able let an ox gore me into respawn! :)
Now all I have to do is find the King's Father... yes, I'm still searching and going over the same locations again & again...
If anyone has found him, can you give me a tiny hint *without* posting any spoilers? Thanks!

Hardblade,
I really liked this module for its extent, custom content, variety and challenge. I really liked the boss monsters although I found Orcus way too easy (he just stood there as I hacked him to death) - this was probably a situational thing (I fought him in a doorway). I did, however, find the combat level a bit mixed up - there would be a difficult boss creature in the middle of a whole bunch of easy combat creatures - so I never knew whether to brace myself or sail on through. I also experienced the same things as the other posters did - the faction issue (which really confused me until I left it alone, went off and got killed, which reset the faction), the lack of direction (which due to the scope of the module, I forgot what I was questing for and towards the end, got nervous that I had missed something). Another mild annoyance, was the long walk back...although it was more realistic, some of the areas like the mazes and wastelands were very tedious to walk back through...all the while, I wasn't sure I'd gotten to the end. I also I thought that some of the respawning encounters - especially the unique ones (I fought Neesh the Ogre 3 times), should have been more one time events, but for the most part, the mass spawning creatures were fairly easy to dispatch (except those Alhoon - whew!). I do have a spoiler question that I never did resolve...
Spoiler below...
I seemed to contract a disease early in the module that afflicted me for the entire module, which caused me to have to constantly drink potions of restoration to recover from. I tried to cure disease, remove curse, get cured by priests and healers along the way, but nothing seemed to work...was this intentional or was it a bug. If it was intentional, where did I get that from? Was it from a cursed item or an encounter or what? Is there a cure? I hope it doesn't travel with the character to a new module...
Anyway, great module and I look forward to your other works.
Cheers.

I noticed it's the guards, town-people, and town-animals, but *not* merchants if that's a clue. I even considered your idea about getting killed on purpose, but in all modesty they can't! Looks like I'm just going to have to keep this one on the back burner for a while in hopes that you can come up with a fix.
I was hoping to give you the whole $10.00 vote but I have to take a quarter off for not being able to finish the game, and another quarter off for the general state of confusion I found myself in due to lack of direction. :)
So please accept my $9.50 knowing that I had a great time in general playing your mod. I especially enjoyed the unique item drops, and amassing over 80,000,000 GP which is something I've never done before in any other NWN mod!
Thanks again Hardblade, and I'm looking forward to playing again someday!
Usually if the gaurds, merchants or whatever kill you it might reset the faction, if not then you might need to try an earlier build of your charc.

I was thrilled to see that you found and corrected the faction problem so quickly, unfortunately it didn't work for my situation with latest saved game! :(
Is there *any* chance that I'll be able to continue playing with my current character? I can't fathom the thought of starting all over again...
I have found and repaired the faction issue. I have submitted the updated mod and also added a chest to the beginning where you may get a book that informs you of the playable subraces, and a free gatewaystone.

Ahhh, ok. Thanks for the mini-hint!
I haven't forgotten to vote, I just wanted to finish the Druid Quest as well as finding the King's Dad first.
Maybe I'll continue my search while you try to fix the hostile faction issue. (It wasn't just the druids, it was *everyone* throughout the countryside as well as in town.)
[afterthought] I never checked any of the vendors though if that might be a clue.
There are no clues to as the whereabouts of the king's father. I can tell you that you can find him within 1 of the last 3 levels where you meet Orcus but I won't give away the exact location.
The Druids do not have any information on the king and are focused on their own issues.
The game was always intended to be an open ended adventure, the quests are to provide you with some general direction and background, as you find more journals and talk to people around they may drop subtle hints of other areas to go check out.
I check back often so any other questions or concerns feel free to ask. Don't forget to vote.

Hi Hardblade, thanks for the quick reply.
Thanks also for the explanation about the Dungeon of Graves, it's the whole adventure itself kinda sorta. [g]
I've been everywhere you mentioned and it was cool to see all those screenshots and know I was there.
I guess when/if you can figure out the faction issue, I can resume playing and see what the druids have to say. Will I then get any clues from them where to continue my search for the King's father?
Hi Neilium, no you aren't missing any quests there are only the 2 main quests, the rest is pretty open ended with subtle hints being offered for some rare items/places in the odd adventurer journals you might find scattered in the dungeon.
Your question about the dungeon of graves, In Thuul they refer to the entire dungeon as that due to the fact no one has returned from it.
I am a little perplexed as to the faction issue with the druid, I will look into it and if this is bugged I will update the mod and resubmit it and post here that I have done so and what I found. Thnaks for the heads up.
As for basic direction, some of the key areas you will want to go looking for are off the beaten path, many dragon dens loaded with loot, the vault of the drow, valenzoft, the gates of hell level splits off a few different ways...you will find it will require replay a few times to likely find most of the key areas...but they are to be stumbled upon as information in this dungeon is scarce. Most importantly just have fun and adventure, thats what D&D is all about.

Hi Hardblade, I'm playing your mod for a few weeks now and I have some questions.

I'm a little short on gold, can you advise me?
(LOL! just kidding, I can't believe I've got over 80 Mil and still counting.)
All seriousness aside, I've never played a mod quite like yours. I'm used to many Journal Entries along the way, pointing me towards my next immediate goal. In LoTv2, I only have 2 - find the King's Father and find the Druid. Am I missing something/did I do something wrong?
Speaking of finding things, my Paladin is at level 25 by this point and I *still* haven't found the Dungeon of Graves! Can you give me a clue where I went astray?
I *have* found and slain Orcus, but I'm not sure what to do next. I also found the Druid's ring, but when I go back to the Town and/or Countryside, *everyone* is hostile, even the chickens and oxen! What did I say? [g]
Please give me a push in the right direction?
Thanks in advance, having a blast!
Hi everyone, the swamplands had been cut from this edition due to time constraints and the decision NOT to proceed making this into a persistant world. I wanted soley to focus on the dungeon. But in a future mod anything is possible right?
