Caramon, sword in hand, can only stand beside me and watch in awe as foe after foe falls to my spells. Lightning crackles from my fingertips, flame flares from my hands, phantasms appear-so real that they can kill by fear alone.
Goblins die screaming. Baby dragons flee in terror back to the dark and secret places of their hatching. Draconians wither in flame. Dark clerics of Takhisis, are impaled upon a flight of shimmering spears, their last prayers turned to wailing curses of agony.
Finally comes the Black Robes, the eldest of the Order, to destroy me-the young upstart. But they find to their dismay that-old as they are-I am in some mysterious way older still. My power is phenomenal. They know within an instant that I cannot be defeated. The air is filled with the sounds of chanting, and one by one, they disappear as swiftly as they came, many bowing to me in profound respect as they depart upon the wings of wish spells........
They bow to me.
Master of Past and Present.

*Module has a built in character level so you can design character up to the 14th level if desired*
---------------------------------------
The same haks will be used in....
Dragons of Evening Frost
Dragons of Spring Past
...as in this one.

This module requires the custom content of Project Q. A link to their page is provided below.

This is a link to the 7z free software used to open files. For those who do not have it. It's great for opening big files. Many members are using this tool to format their files. Hope this helps. Any questions please ask. External Website Beyond Our Control
This link will take you to Worm's 9 Tileset page. All you need to do is download all 4 parts for the Mirkwood tileset. When you extract them onto your computer it will take data from all four parts and give you the main hak. That is the hak you place in your hak folder. Thank you.

I would have given you a 10 for just the pics alone! Very Dragonlance feel to them. The guy in the black hood? With the red eyes? Still gives me nightmares! _________________________ "I am your muse." Jarlaxle said.

This mod is an original copy and has nothing to do with those other mods mentioned! Especially the stories are way off from topics. I think what Ken is doing is using base board areas in other mods for scripts and maybe prefabs. Oh, and forgetting to clean up what he borrowed. He's only guilt of being a little sloppy. When you look at the mod as a whole.....wow! Well worth the time to play and check out.
-------------------------------------------------
I think jml was so hurt Ken, because she had a crush on you. :) Like I always say, forgive and forget jml. Check Ken's photo on his e-mail. He is cute in an Artemis type of way. LOL!!!!! _________________________ "I am your muse." Jarlaxle said.

I am glad you had a good time with this. Thank you for voting too.
Korrgarr!!!!!! Glad to hear from you and congrats on the new computer! I'll e-mail you soon buddy.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
btbg and jml......where to begin? First and foremost allow me to apologize if my mod made you angry. What is with these conspiracy theories? Ever make a mod before? If so then you know the amount of work and time involved. In making my projects I employ the system of selecting areas with scripts I favor from the best authors on the Neverwinter Nights Vault. Yes cutscenes are used from other mods and I make no secret of that. Journal entries have always been my weakness and yes sometimes they are not cleaned up when I import certain areas into my mods. This is slopy work and of that I am guilty. Not playable? I have 364 people who say otherwise and have finished the mod without it crashing. You can't blame me for the preformance of your pc. If you guys and ladies would care to admit the cutscenes have been reworked to give a totaly different feel and look. I am only trying to disect and learn how scripting and cutscenes work. How can that be childish or pretending? I took my time with this one and the design and areas are the proof. These characters from the Dragonlance saga look and feel like the characters from the book and that's no easy task. When you say the original work is not mine, let's be clear on that. What you are really saying is that the scripts, cutscenes and journal entries (lagged from importing areas again.) are not. For I assure you that these stories are mine and mine alone. As far as I am concerned story is 80% of any mod or book for that matter. Sure it could have a nice cover but if the story sucks what's the point? It's the story that's suppose to draw in the player or the reader for that matter. As for the Court of Night 99% is way off the mark! As for wasting your time? Such is life. Disappointment is around every corner and cannot be avoided. For my absence. This was due to personal matters that I will not go into here. This is, nor should be taken in anyway as being disrespectful to players. This is real life am I correct? Well I said an eye full. E-mail me sometime. We'll have tea and cookies. :)
-----------------------------------------------------------------
This mod is totally playable. Enjoy. Especially for Dragonlance fans. For those who never walked upon Krynn you are in for a treat. Thank you everyone for your support.

OMG.The entire Kitiara thing was modified from "al3:Tyrants of the Moonsea".You didn't bother renaming "kalor onehand" dlg's script!(no wonder ur mod's journal screwed around)

The opening script of this mod (and the dwarf next door)is exactly the same to "al2:Crimson Tides of Tethyr".Have you ever ask his permission? If not,do it now, please.
This seems to be at least as good as "Court of Night" from the same, Ken. Only...
I'm playing acleric, level 7 myself as it's being adviced, and when I joign with my party, Stefan is level 1, Tasslho, level 16, Jasta level 16!
As no one has mentionned that here, maybe I try to level my own PC up to level 14 or even 20. If I'm not back, it means it worked...
I'm a huge fan of your style, Ken. Only sometimes... ;-)))))

"Kenneth Lamella", my old and outdated "HP Pavilion" Desktop computer has died, that's why I have not been e-mailing you lately, and my great and amazing smart and wise mother has bought me an all new, brand new "Dell Inspiron Core i5, 580 - 750 Quad Core Processor Desktop Computer" that has the specifications that are: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, 1Terabyte (1,000GB) Hard Disk Drive, 2.80 GHz processor, ATI Radeon HD 5450 graphics card with 3.7GB DDR3 graphics memory, 6GB of DDR3 Memory RAM, Wireless WLAN Card, Optical DVD+RW/CD RW Drive, One year wrnty, and etc., and, I will be re-installing "Neverwinter Nights" on it sometime this week or next week hopefully, please reply today my friend. _________________________ Mike Sharp.
Thank you for a great mod! I have an issue though, once i get to the point in the Ports Dungeon. After defeating Kitiara, the game seems to crash whenever my party attacks the dragon...is this a problem anyone else has? I finally found a mod that has me hooked, and now i can't play!
I have been working very hard to bring four new mods to nwn. I almost have them completed. As for this mod, I know it still needs work. Jonolethan thank you so much for the feedback. Ballance is something I am trying to work out in my mods. As for Sturm's facial hair...:)...The first time we see Sturm is in a flash back before the Campanions went out in the world. Later on, in the second flash back five years have passed and Sturm's facial hair has grown. I tried to pick the best head for Sturm. I wanted him to have an open faced helm with a thick mustache. Choices were limited.
---------------------------------------------------
As for the portraits and voices I could not agree more! If anyone out there can direct me on how to input custom portraits for npc's in mod please let me know. Even if it's a link. This would help me greatly. I beg of thee. I inject dozens of portraits into the P folder and they never show up in my mods. Only on character creation.
---------------------------------------------------
Future projects coming out soon will include Gauntlgrym, Wake of Neverwinter, Tale of Two Worlds and Dragons of the Evening Frost. These will all be customized with cut scenes, well executed scripts and CMP music. By the time they are released I should have the game ballance correct.
---------------------------------------------------
VESPERLORD thanks so much. I am glad you enjoyed the mod. Your the reason I keep making mods and others like you. Really means alot to me thank you. It's going to be NWN 1 for me...until I figure out how to use the NWN2 toolset.
----------------------------------------------------
Last but not least, I recomend you pick up a copy of Guantlgrym by RA. Salvatore. If you have any love for the Forgotten Realms you will be impressed to say the very least. That and the fact the events that take place in the book will lead to the history in my upcoming mods and the new Neverwinter Nights 3 that is coming out. So enjoy. _________________________ Farewell and a long farewell it shall be. Some of us are not destined to meet again.

Correction, Sturm has a mustache, it's the length of a beard. He doesn't have one when the PC meets him at the Inn.
Posted by Jonolethan at 2010-12-20 04:47:45 Voted 5.00 on 12/20/10
It would be more than average if the game was not unbalanced. True balance makes skills such as Appraise worth spending points on, not from giving player characters tons of godlike items to sell for an infinite amount of gold. Sturm Brightblade has a beard and is missing one, I'm sure he would not approve. Then, there are all the typos, such as improper use of their, there and they're. I give it a 5 because the map design and scripting are well done, but the rest of the module needs to be polished.
Posted by Jonolethan at 2010-12-20 04:33:12 Voted 5.00 on 12/20/10
Nevermind, I renamed the crystal dragons hak to dragon hak.hak and it worked.
Anyway, I played it and it needs work. It has several typos and it makes it look unprofessional, the portrait of the wench at the beginning has a burly man's portrait. Too many magic items at the beginning, especially when you break into the other rooms. That gives the character an almost endless supply of gold when they sell the items which unbalances the game. Why use a rogue at all if any class can open unlocked chests full of godlike treasure? Especially when all it takes is one invisibility spell to just walk into an area and take all the treasure? Scaling down the treasure would go a long way to make this mod challenging at least. This module should use Hordes of the Underdark as a guide to determine monster stats, treasure, and difficulty as it for the same level of characters. Then it would be balanced and a proper representation of Dragonlance in NWN. It would also be great if custom portraits would be added to it so that the Heroes of the Lance look like the Heroes of the Lance. Sturm Brightblade has a beard you know. Also, with some help from the NWN and Dragonlance fans here some voice actors would be great, especially for the long and prolonged cutscenes such as the Lord Soth intro. Reading a long story float over silent characters is boring.
Aside from the criticisms above, I do find the map design and scripting very well done(aside from the bad spelling). I appreciate all the work that was put into putting it together, it was no easy task.
Posted by Jonolethan at 2010-12-19 06:15:26 Voted 5.00 on 12/20/10
I can't find dragon hak.hak, the module won't start without it. If anyone can tell me where it's located I would greatly appreciate it. :)
Mad Jester315 thank you so much. I am really glad you had fun! Means a lot to me. Dragons of Evening Frost will be released this winter. Same haks as above. :) _________________________ Farewell and a long farewell it shall be. Some of us are not destined to meet again.

This was superb indeed, nice job on this module
kudos my friend. (:
Thank you so much for the detailed feedback. It's people like you, Qlippoth and Korrgarr that keeps giving me the drive to make mods for NWN. I have always been accused of being a Montyhall DM and the shoe does fit. I am truly working on this. I think it is sinking in that true players really want to take their time in building characters up. I have made notes on all you comments and am turning it into a check list. When I get the chance I will revise this mod.
----------------------------------------------------------------
As for the black screen. Hit the options "O" on your keypad. Save the game. Then load the save and you will be in the area you are suppose to be in. Sorry about this. The script I used to transport the player had a fade to black script. When I tried to remove the string it did not compile correctly. I am working on this too. Hope this helps. It will allow you to continue throuh the game.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks again for helping me out Thenannymoh. You have brought a smile to this old kender's face. May dragons fly forever in your dreams. :)
-----------------------------------------------------------------
What makes me really happy is that this is coming from a person who is not a Dragonlance fan. If you like to read, I do hope you pick up some novels. Chronicles and Legends would be a good start. You won't be disappointed. _________________________ Farewell and a long farewell it shall be. Some of us are not destined to meet again.
OK I'll review what I can...the game broke for me after defeating the dragon in the dungeon. I entered one of the exits, and the wizard tried to leave the party in the "green portal" area. Then, the Kiri valley area loads, and I can hear everything, can move my character with the WASD keys, but nothing is visible...the screen is completely black. So, I'm stuck at this point. (have tried using both doors out of the dungeon...tried breaking convo with wizard, but there are no area transitions in the green portal area...tried over and over but can't get past this).
THE GOOD
- dialogue is realistic and mature
- character development...each has their own personality without delving into cliche
- the setup...grabbed me right from the beginning
- music is very good
- immersive tilesets/environ
- great textures, faces
- the lore of the story easy to slip into, even for someone like me who has no dragonlance exposure
- the bar convos at the beginning, during the memory sequences, were engrossing
- 4 hours between rest...this has always been my favourite rest set-up
THE NOT AS GOOD
- for level 14 character, the equipment seems pretty powerful...equipment in first hour (lots of +6/+7 stuff), and there is a lot of it, starts to oversaturate (that said, the baddies would be pretty tough without it)...just seems more designed for epic characters rather than 14th/15th level
- so far, plot seems to develop too quickly. Once I leave home, I was hoping for a journey that lined up with the setup...a long trip. It seems once we hit the road, we were immediately meeting dragons in epic ancient tombs (with huge treasure hawl to boot). Fun battles, but the pacing didn't meet the standards of the setup at the very beginning.
- During big battles, and in towns (not indoors), this module managed to be a pig on my machine...no small feat (I've got a pretty zippy gaming rig), and the fps dips were pretty severe.
- hangups and crashes...there were a few to this point, but all fixed themselves on re-load until the game broke (described above)
- broken convos..."any advice?" questions to my companions would stop the convo
- Journal...every journal entry reads "error" (incl companions), except of the "main" entry
- area scales...I walk into a woodshed, and inside it looks like a football arena...not a major issue, but a little jarring
SUMMARY
- with some technical tweaking, this could be one of the best in the vault...so much potential with an excellent story base and mature, well-considered dialogue
- fills a niche - one of few adventures for the 14-20 level range
- visually gorgeous
- my rating is pending until I can get past the game breaker...not fair to rate until I can finish the mod
I'm about 2 hours into this adventure, so rating is pending...but so far - WOW.
Just wow.
Story has me completely hooked. The life you bring to these characters is a gift. And everything looks so damned pretty. The odd minor glitches are easily overlooked. A classic in the making...I can't wait to get back to it.
