Description
You were found amongst the firery ruins of a small village, barely clinging to life, by a mysterious stranger. You have lost all memory of who or what you were and decide to travel with your rescuer in search of answers. In search of your destiny. So, together you start out on this Grand Adventure.
Does the module eventually get a story? I felt like I was wandering all over the city without any sense of 'why'. Sort of Morrowind/Oblivion aimlessness, if that makes sense.
I just came by the neverwinter vault here, looking for a village tileset, and found this! It seems the creator has named his/her module - "A Grand Adventure"
But I'm in the middle of building a module myself too, and have given it almost exactly the same title too, except that I have named mine - "The Grand Adventure" (not much of a difference is there really?)
Just to note that I am using the CEP 2 in mine, and so obviously, it won't be the same story as shown here.
Lots and lots of people will have made various modules of different stories and things and placed them all at the vault here for download by now, and so for me, because of this, I just have an extremely difficult choice of trying to give a title to my module, and cannot think to call it anything else other than - "The Grand Adventure"
Please forgive me for this. I just think it would be a rather appropriate title for mine, and is the very first time for me too because I've never made anything else on the neverwinter nights vault before.
I would still prefer this title for my module, and cannot really think to call it anything else, so that is what I shall call it.
To the creator of this module ~Brownbird~
What is your opinion on my reply here please?
I don't see a "Roleplay" rating in the module description data - I'm guessing "light".

Has some serious balance issues. Traps that deal upwards of 100 physical damage at level 3? Waves of goblin elites? Good effort though, I liked the options.

The rope you buy from shop by Tam's ARmory..It's a little small c-shaped thing called a "rope chain". Only takes up 1 box.

It was fun, especially getting choice to join the garrison. The swarms of undead in crypt was unreal, come on now....Would've been nice to not have been so linear...maybe have something in there that would reveal light on character's background or bring more in-depth the memory loss. When is sequel coming out?
The three locks you mentioned have no specific key or lever so unfortunatley, you'll need a the pick lock skill. Back in town you can have a halfling rogue join you and he should be able to handle the locks for you easily. If not, let me know and I'll look into it. Thanks for playing the mod and I hope this helps! :-)

Hi Brownbird, I am enjoying your MOD but am stuck in the Dwarven Mines.--Spoilers-- I have freed the slaves but can not open three locked doors. One is to an alter, one is to a chest and the last to a new area. I have looked all over but can not find and more levers other than the three to unlock the slaves. Any help would be appreciated, as I am eager to finish the MOD
Just a quick note to tell you the 1.4 update has been posted. It contains the last of the grammar corrections, support for crafting items, and you now have the ability to hire two henchman. Hope you enjoy it. :-)

Hi All!,
Just a quick update as to how things are going. I am still holding onto the final release of "A Grand Adventure" due to the release of the latest expansion from Bioware "Hordes of the Underdark". As some of you might know after the release of the last expansion pack some parts of my module became broken. I am wanting to make sure those types of issues don't exist again. I also am looking at including some of the newer features like crafting potions, wands, scrolls, armor, and weapons ect...However, there will be no major updates and if you have already finished the module you'll still be completley compatible.
Regarding the second chapter in the series, "A Grand Adventure Continues", things are progressing well. I don't have much information to share at this time but will post again once I am closer to completion. But, work has begun and I am making good progress.
Finally, I would like to ask for some constructive feedback from you. Let me hear what you have to say regarding this module and what you liked and disliked. A special thanks to those of you who have already written or posted. Also, if you have completed the module and would like to, take a second and vote. Your support is highly appreciated! Thanks for taking the time to download my module and hope you enjoy it!
Merry Christmas!,

Hi Caroline,
I actually just finished a final version of A Grand Adventure that just addresses some spelling mistakes ect... I am currently working on the second chapter in this series. So, yes, there will be an update that will allow you to adventure beyond the crypts. As far as a time line, I am not sure at this point but will be posting updates as I get closer.
No, I don't do scripting for a living, as a matter of fact I have been learning as I go. Why do yo ask? Anyway, thanks so much for your feedback and I am glad you enjoyed the module! :-) If you have any further comments or question feel free to write or post.
Thanks again,
Brownbird

Hey Brownbird,
Is there an updates coming along by any chance for after the crypt? I would like to be first to get the second version of this game and excellent title, if you get to be mods hall of fame I might applaud because you deserve it. By any chance do you do scripting for a living please email me.

Hey Drysus,
I am glad you enjoyed the module. Thanks! Yeh, you reached the end of the module. Make sure you export your character and get any armor, weapons, ect.. from your NPC, if you had one. The NPC's will be back in the second installment and you can reequip them then. :-) Also, thanks for your feedback, it is appreciated! :-)

Finished the 1st 3 quests
*SPOILERS*
Had alot of fun...only died twice :) after the 3rd quest is there anything else to do?..the Capt. says he'll find me when he needs me. is that the setup for the 2nd mod?
Also, in the 3rd quest..the Zombie Lords got a bit tedious. maybe you could change it up a bit, just for flavor...each room was an epic 30 minute battle solo. Not that i mind that, just got tired of fighting the same thing
but other than that, i had a great time.
Thank you for putting together such a fun Module. I know the time invested is tremendous.

Hey Drysus and Barry,
Thanks to both of you for playing the module and I am glad you are enjoyiing it so far. From the sounds of it you are both playing the module solo and that can be very tough. I put in NPC's and if you haven't hired one I highly recommend you do so. Though it will still be tough. :-)
SPOILERS********
Barry--- About the getting dazed. I had the same problem when playing coop with my wife and the one thing we did was to use a protection from evil spell on ourselves which seemed to negate it. I believe the NPC cleric will cast this on you if you ask her and she is in your party ect... I could be wrong. Also, make sure you let her rest before asking her to cast spells. If you don't she may not show you the complete list of available spells she can cast because of her lack of rest. I couldn't find anyway to control what spells were chosen by NPC's after the initial creation process and getting to pick the beginning spells. Also, the good news is that you won't be seeing many more zombies the rest of the way and it sounds that you are close to the ending of the module. Good luck and if you have any further comments or questions let me know! :-)
Drysus--------
Actually yes, the Dwarven loot is plotted due to balancing issues. The items are actually really valuable and would have given the player way to many resources. You can however sell a few of the arrows and bolts. Also, the dwarven metal you received from the pillar should be taken to Tam's Armory. If your character has it in his inventory and you haven't spoken to Tam about it, do so. You won't regret it. Tam is the only one who will even recongnize you have possesion of it. If you have any more questions or comments feel free to let me know. :-)
Thanks to both of you for posting and I hope you enjoy the rest of the module! :-)

Hey great mod. Since i don't have anyone to play with, i am playing solo, just finished 2nd quest. Very challenging but not over the top. Keep up the good work, i've been getting bored playing mods that are way to easy, or way too difficult. This is just hard enough to keep me interested.
***Spoilers***
Is there something I can do with all the great loot from the Dwarven Forge? Its unsellable, so are they plot items?
just curious, just in case i missed anything

Well done , a magnificent game.
Loads of neat new ideas, great progression for characters.
I did get a bit tired of slogging my way through all the zombie lords and now i'm struggling with the third level of the crypt .. i keep getting stunned brfore i can fight my way through.
anyway, great work and thanks for hours of fun

Hey Yosarian,
Well, I have put off responding to your post as long as I could. I didn't want to because I loved seeing it up on the top where it would be the first post everyone read. LOL! But, I didn't you or anyone else to think I wasn't appreciative of your taking the time to review the module and give me such a shining recommendation! I really appreciate it. I also appreciate all the help in beta testing that you and Sally gave me. I hope everyone can enjoy the module as much as you and Sally have! :-) Thanks to both of you.

Brownbird,
I know that Sally and I were play testers on this module but I thought it would be good to throw out a shameless plug for it. Not for any other reason than to publicly say how good it was, though. I must say that this module has been one of our favorite "multiplayer" games out there. It strikes an excellent balance between story line and battles, keeps the team with exactly the same EPs(and we mean that litrally), and has a good number of wonderful custom items and actions. For those of you out there that do a lot of team type modules, this one is a "must" play. We also must say, nice job on taking the feed back of the NW fans out there and doing something about it. We have seen some people out there just have the "this is the way my module is so live with it" attitude that it's a breath of fresh air to see someone do something about it and very well at that!
This module makes imaginative and powerful use of so many of the tools in the toolset. It is an engaging and captivating story that scales well to PC EP level. It's fun and we got the feeling that the author liked the people playing his mod.
Thanks a BUNCH, Brownbird! Now about that second chapter..... ;) *Begins to hold breath*

Hi,
Great news! The update is here! I plan on doing another small update in the near future to tweak difficulty ect... if needed. Besides that I'm planning on moving on to the sequel module to bring the story to a conclusion. I'd welcome your input so please let me know your thought on this module. Thanks. I hope you enjoy it!

Ooops! Wow, did I say this weekend? ;-) Well, I wasn't that far off. Everything is done including 99% of the testing. I just happend to add another additional quest to the game and I am just finishing up with that. So, I'd like to say by Monday evening. But give me a day grace period, k? Thanks. ;-)

Hi again,
Just a quick note to say all the changes are done. I am in the process of testing for balance and bugs and if all goes well, the 1.03 update should be posted by or before this weekend. I'll post again when the update is available.

Hello All!,
Just a quick update to let you know I am still working on the next update which will include NPC support! I am changing quite a bit and so some more serious scripting changes and additions are needed. This is not a major overhaul but it is a major effort on my part since I am still learning to work with the scripts and write my own ect.. I will be doing away with the pixie since there is now a npc rogue available but I will be adding something in the pixie's place that you can still get from Tondor's. I am also trying to add more loot so some of you can do more shopping for the items you want. I am also trying to balance out some of the harder encounters but a few will still be very difficult as they are basically "boss" encounters. Ok, that is everything, feel free to ask any questions of post any comments in regards to the module. Thanks.
