You have washed ashore on Rethgaard, a small island west of Waterdeep, deeply wounded from the pirate attack on your vessel. There is but one task before you, recover your strength and find a way to Evermeet. The message you carry must be delivered to Queen Amlaruil, before it is too late. There is an optional introduction movie you can downloadhere: http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=movies.Detail&id=85 Note: This has been updated for SoU compatability. You must get the latest hak in order to play.
ok,, I am getting frustrated with this damn chest with my gear.
I got alot out but now if I click on it it just crashes the game. there are a few bits that I couldn't get, one is the shattered sword cant remember if there was anything else important for the rest of the 3/4/5 _________________________ Dalethfc
Agggh, I'm up to the part where i've passed the trial and I need to collect my equipment from the tower. Everytime I try to open the chest the game shuts down, i've lost all my plot items, armour, gold and weapons =( Any sugestions on how to fix this?
Adam Miller's mods are really great. I simply love the henchmen stories! But the stories themselve are also very interesting!
However, I've got a problem in Dreamcater - Pit of Stars. I'm stuck in the trial level 2, with the bone guard. My PC is a Cleric, with more or less 20 hp and no spells as well as a simple pole as weapon (the only bludgeoning one...). The door behind the guard is locked and requires a specific key. I guess I have to kill the guard, which is rather hard under these circumstances.
Does anyone have a tip for me? I would really love to go on in this mod. Thanks...

A masterpiece. Certainly as good as the previous episode.
Pros:
+ Cool henchgirl (at last one that can fight if need be)
+ Let's ride, let's fly!
+ a few interesting items (e.g. the sorry sword ;-)
+ I got psionics!
Cons:
- Had trouble to re-acquire the priestess the first time I played (go get the key? I have the key) that pretty much ruined the game for me
- Gee another item strip
- During the trial the magic box may get stuck in a corner
- Some items and/or scripts may not work
9: A superb, well polished module that is great fun to play.

So far this one's my favorite in the series, one of the best dungeon crawls I've played. Very entertaining, gripping story with creative puzzle fun. And finally a henchwoman I cared about. Also great use of a cool tileset and other custom content. Considering this was already done in 2003 I see why it got the Mod of the Year Award. Still great in 2009!
I liked the series so far, but I am not going to finish this module because half of my inventory (including all my money) was lost. I had an item from another module that seems to have been replaced by some other item I have certainly not picked up. Very disappointing. Nevertheless awesome story!

Now this one is the best one of the entire Shadowlord + Dreamcatcher series..... so far!
Proceed to Chapter 4 and see if it is better...

Can someone help me? I've got all 3 parts of the Rod of Ultimate Defense, but for whatever reason can't figure out how to put them together. The readme mentions assembling them but doesn't say how. Could someone email me and let me know if you've done it, and how you did it?

This whole series of modules is awesome! Thank you, to Mr. Miller for making this great game.
I've tried downloading both the module and the hak, but with both I get a message saying there is and error reading the file.Is there and update I need to get for this to not happen?

Don't like being put in prison and miraculously escaping because I was at the right place at the right time. Flying the dragon was cool.

Buggy model!! All the Shadow Lords were fine then I play the Dreamcatcher and have issues. The most annoying is that I can only get the first 2 pages of my inventory from the chest in the tower in Rethgaard. Luckily my main armor and weapon are on the first two pages but not my money.
Not sure I'll bother finishing this one.

I loved Shadowlords and Dreamcatcher. I literally cried when halfway through Dreamcatcher I learned that Anera was supposedly dead.

Dreamcatcher has some fancy scripted cutscenes. They look great but can crash you. I have never successfully watched the second half of the epilogue. I always crash immediately after the darkness.
I'm having exactly the same problem: NWN crashes on me upon reaching the second have of the epilogue. I played through Shadowlords and Dreamcatcher 1-2 without problems. Any ideas on a possible fix? I'd hate to not to get to see the ending after all of that effort ;-)

Um- wow...
DC3 was a totally amazing experience for me.
SPOILERS: Can you persevere in an area with reduced HP, no place to rest, no spells (for a spellcaster) and a moderate curse placed on you? DC3 gives you the chance to find out. Indeed, the "Trial" area was one of the hardest areas I've ever seen in a NWN mod. That's not to say it isn't doable- but it DOES force you to think of your hit points as a "natural resource", as it were. (I found that out the hard way; after one particularly difficult room, I managed to survive intact, but with only 4 HP to my name.)
Following the Trial, DC3 provided a nice array of mini-quests around town for your adventurer to consider, before finally getting to your main quest: finding a good dragon to fly you to Evermeet.
The road to the dragon has more than enough obstacles to keep your attention: ghost dwarves, moral quandaries involving a prisoner, pits to jump over, etc. DC3 really makes you think about how to proceed, too, as many decisions have moral consequences and alignment shifts. (My NG wizard/ranger would end up finishing this module as a LG character.)
Eventually, after a most daunting opponent, you are successful in achieving your main goal. This leads to yet another of the most innovative hooks I've ever seen in a NWN mod, as you get to control the movements of a gold dragon. Just too cool...
I can't recall coming across a single bug in the module, either.

The most fun I have had in any NWN module was found in this series.

All in all a very great campaign indeed. I liked the entire set, especially the dragon riding scene at the end was out of this world.

Wow! absolutely terrific. many good scripted scenes. the first dungeon may piss many people off...i wasn't exactly thrilled too. but it's not too difficult. there are some roleplay possibilities that are good, but i feel it's not polished yet . the story is ok.
*** SPOILERS ***
the dragon ride is absolutely amazing. there is a little problem of targeting though.
the story line with an 'almost possible' love interest is ok...but i've seen it before. one problem is that i play a female character...so the love plot is a bit strange. the cutscenes are very nice though...especially when the girl throws her sword at the dreamer.
i do like atmospheric moments in the game...like meeting with the merchant and his mermaid wife. it's good to see that other people in the game have their own life too.

it's very rare that i give out 10/10 but this module deserves it :)

Just got through the trial andmay character is running in a very strange fashion. Hes literally running like a child (with that sort of skipping action). Whats going on?
Can I just say that the whole bit with the dragon is brilliant? Only prob is that I met the Griffon rider and I'm supposed to follow him, but we just sit there staring at each other, flapping wings..."
I agree. It's awesome, and it doesn't work here either.

Damnit, everytime I try to open the chest that contains my stuff the game crashes! I've tried bashing it and pick up the remains but nothing works. What can be done about this dilemma???
