Hmmmmm .... after cooling down I suspect my comments were a little harsh. I was only frustrated because of how good the story was. I guess I just hate puzzle type stories ... Dano

This is one of the most diabolical modules out there. On the one hand it has a brilliant story line, great characters and plotting and wonderful twists. On the other are puzzles so frustrating and unfun they make you weep, and bosses that are near impossible to harm let alone defeat. The good stuff makes you crave for more. The bad stuff makes you pull your hair out. Its kind of like walking on a florida beach at spring break - barefoot over broken glass. Another problem with the puzzles is that many of them have several steps involved, but there is no feedback as to whether you are actually affecting the world or not (eg. the Dreaded lever puzzle). I gave up wandering around the tomb of horrors once I realized that it was nothing BUT puzzles and bosses that were about 12 challenge levels too high. Another problem is that the magic treasure you get is pretty useless as there are damned few places in the campaign to get the goodies identified, and forget about actually buying from a merchant. I walked around for two of the chapters looking for a shield .... a bloody hunk of wood to ward off weapon blows - nada. Anyway, I am not going to rant about something that someone obviously worked very hard on and gave away for free. The only reason I am SO frustrated is because the story and the telling ARE quite engrossing. The authour has a real talent for story telling. Unfortunately the bosses and puzzles are the kiss of death when it comes to my preferences. If I could recommend anything to someone I would say definitely play the campaign as long as you have a walkthrough for each chapter, and in the tool kit give yourself a +6 Vorpal/Keen sword that you will only use in boss fights in this chapter. PS- Supposedly there is a walkthrough for chapter 5 which is a damned fine idea, but I have tried several different downloads and there was no walktrough present. So I have given up. Told ya I hate puzzles

Hi. great mod. but i can't find the forth peculiar gem to solve the father-son riddle. I love the series so far and my lvl 4/4/8 rogue, barbarian, assassine kicks ass. but i would use better portraits. adds a lot to the atmosphere. There are a lot of cool drow portraits that you could have used.

This module is basically a huge dungeon crawl. The crawl, however, is quite well done and hardly gets boring. I would have liked to see more interaction with the only available henchman. Moreover, I consider a dungeon crawl a pretty bad setting which offers few opportunities to express my role. Since this one kept me pretty interested most of the time, I'll give it a "9". _________________________ One feels inclined to say that the idea that man should be "happy" is not included in the plan of "creation". - Sigmund Freud

I think I'm also missing something... I climbed down the trap door behind the balor, but now I don't know what to do in this area... I read that there's a secret door in the preparation room, but I've been searching the room for 1 hour and found nothing... do I need to do something up front to open this secret door? Or what am I supposed to do here? _________________________ One feels inclined to say that the idea that man should be "happy" is not included in the plan of "creation". - Sigmund Freud

This is a great mod. Thanks. There should be a chance for wizards to cast spells into there robes before the game starts. I played the whole campain and was totaly unprepared for the ambush at the Beginning.
