More than 4 years ago, I created the original Spell Icons: Colorized package, making it possible to quickly and easily sort and select spells based on "themes" (fire, cold, mind-affecting, etc.).
Now comes Generation 2!
New colors for most of the spells. New icons for some. No "borders" anymore for any of them (making them look a bit nicer on the quickbar and working better with my transparent GUI).
Decompress these into your override folder and take them for a spin. If you have an opinion on these (good or bad), come on back and let me know!

@The Amethyst Dragon:
Sorry for the very long delayed response. I actually do NOT do so out of personal preference. I do so solely for compatibility purposes.
I have a set of "base" overrides that I like just like you said which I like using for every module. However if I mix overrides from different modules I have bad compatibility issues. So for every module I mix its own module specific override with my general overrides and if those are also incompatible, then only the base module override. _________________________ I do not have a superman complex; for I am God, not Superman!

Thanks

Even more immersing than the last set, which I've been faithful to for years now. I could play NWN for another four years now!

An essential override like colorized effect icons (which are at the top right of your NWN 1 HUD), but this is especially useful for spellcaster PCs to properly micro spell use.

Beautiful Work, I've enjoyed your first version for several years and it has both improved my gameplay and enjoyment. Thank you for continuing to breathe new life into this amazing game with your creative work. Hall of Fame worthy!!!

I didn't even know you'd released version two AD. I've been using the GUI for almost as long as you've had it out I think. I remember the discussion on the old bioware forums that people used to work out what things to add and remove with the GUI.

went straight from the original icons to these beauties. WOW! makes it easy to sort them, because of the different school backgrounds.
Well done!

I see what you mean now. When I commented before, I was thinking it'd be slightly simpler just to decompress directly into the existing NWN/override folder (instead of decompressing a folder full of files, then having to move/copy those files into the override folder). I wasn't thinking about folks that might not use all their overrides at the same time...I'm the type that once I find an override I like, I use it all the time (for instance, I haven't played without my transparent gui and colorized icons overrides since I created them).
Just a matter of personal preference, I guess. _________________________ World of Aenea (Hall of Fame PW and the origin of all my works)
As far as putting it all inside an "override" folder inside the .rar, most people I know already have other stuff in their NWN/override folder, and one less "layer" of file transferring just makes things a tiny bit easier.
I don't understand how it has 1 less layer this way.
If you want to keep it seperate then you need to:
1. Rename your current override, say, to override-old
2. create a new override
3. extract files into override
if the files are already in a subdir called override then step 1 is the same, but instead of step 2 and 3 you just extract to your NWN root dir.
I am not trying to tell you what to do here :P, I just genuinely don't understand what you are talking about, so if you can clarify it I would be much obliged. _________________________ I do not have a superman complex; for I am God, not Superman!

Good catch on the psd file. It's actually the only one I'd saved as a psd while I was working, since it took quite a while to make and needed a backup. I'm going to leave it in there for now, just because it's not a big difference on the download size and on something like this, I like to make sure the download count is as close to accurate as possible.

Very nice! Well done, AD, well done.

These are awesome.
Also, you accidently left is_x2acidshth.psd in the zip. You included both the psd and the tda file, so it will work it just wastes some space.
Also, why not compress all those files in a subfolder called override. That way the instructions could be simplified as "extract into your NWN directory" _________________________ I do not have a superman complex; for I am God, not Superman!

I was using the older version, shame on me for not voting for that one. Will not repeat my mistake :).
With that and the colorized scrolls, maybe an update for the colrized feat icons is on the way yes? :)

Mirgalen:
Sounds like you're using my Transparent GUI in addition to these spell icons. The transparent GUI is designed to make such things as the borders around various NWN windows vanish and buttons to partially fade into the background. It can make out-of-game parts of the game interface a little more difficult to see if you're not used to using it. _________________________ World of Aenea (Hall of Fame PW and the origin of all my works)

Just trying it. I may not keep it as I prefer not to have too many stuff in my override folder. I really like the fresh look of the game I think that was the purpose behind this. I do have a minor glitch though, possibly Mac specific: Most windows have no border (e.g. New Game, Load Game, OK, Cancel...) making things a bit difficult sometimes. Is there a simple solution for this?
Thanks.
