Got the idea from Pinellius Pico's (kanik) excellent work. Once in override, all NPC voicesets should be available to PC's, but only by appropriate gender. Note: All NPC sets are not complete. No need to switch files for other gender. Added one new voiceset to male listing that was in the game resources but I didn't see in the .2da (Zor the Minotaur). Let me know of any problems. Edit: update 6/19/03 Updated for SoU XP1...should allow use of XP henchman and NPC voice sets. Not sure how this will affect your game if you don't have XP1...use at your own risk. Just download, rename to 'soundset.2da', and put it in your nwn/override directory.
That's a bit mean, Dos. Now anyway, what's your favorite voiceset? I love the female child's last warcry "hahaha, you will die!".

OK, I just installed SoU and put this file as "soundset.2da" in my override directory. But when I get into character creation, it shows NO voices at all. If I take the file out, it shows the standard voice sets again. Any help? This would seem simple enough, but apparently not quite.

ok i tried many diferent ways and ive been renameing the file to soundset.2da and putting it in my overide directory, is there anything else i have to do? i tried renaming the folder to soundset.2da, but i havent tried that yet, and im sure just a text file isint going to work, is there a way to turn this text file into a real file? or is it supposoed to be a text file?

Most of you are pathetic retards who post before you even read others posts/answers. Wraethrax, do you just click whatever little windows popup in front of you without reading its message? Otherwise you would know that when you install SoU that it asks to backup your override folder (overide_bak) and that is the reason you have two. Nice work mate even though it did require a bit of fiddling to get it working properly with all vanilla and XP1 voicesets. Now if only I could figure out why some produce a hak+2da pack to get the same effect with 50X the effort.

Installed SoU 1.30 Just to let you know Melthavion your 2da unlocked all the old NWN voicesets (NPC's etc) but unlocked none of the SoU voicesets and wiped all the standard SoU voicesets.

I'd love ot hear these voicesets, but I did all the steps that were outlined in the posts below and now I have 0 voicesets to choose from. Anyone know if I have to do any more than saving the file to my override folder and renaming it to 'soundset.2da'? I seem to have 2 other override folders as well, but the other two have extensions like override_bak or something.

Dammit, it got rid of my SoU voicesets... either that or i broke them when i accidently deleated them... (i restored them though, so they should be working).

I don't usually bother posting comments, because nothing usually impresses me this much, but I have to say well done! This actually worked first time, no fuss. It was simple, quick and brilliant, and no HAK files, which means this *may* work online ok ... I hope ... Either way, even if it doesn't, I'll reccomend it to anyone I see, as it truly impresses me ... now if there was a similar thing for models, I'd be really happy, imagine a helmed horror ... and the icons ... Well done, and thank you!
