Version 0.63 - 2DAEdit is a text editor designed specifically to edit .2da files for Neverwinter Nights. STRREF lookup support has been added. Error 91 crash is fixed now, sorry for the problems. If you have a previous version, get the update from my GeoCities page - http://www.geocities.com/nwntool/
Actually, there was a huge problem. When i tried to save my appearence.2da, the file corrupted. So in that case, i uninstalled the 2da editor and started using WordPad. Sorry but your program has problems.
I still have your Mp3toBMU tool. And there is nothing wrong with your tool!
Thanks for nothing. :( _________________________ Cowards taste death many times before they die, but the brave only taste death once.

Darn 2da editors are hard to find. But Im glad I found this one!
This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 7 that made this score of 8.57 then rounded to 9.

Whatever happened to BG? I was going to mention adding a feature that let you pad the opened 2da file or just insert ****s up to the integer you enter, but I guess he be gone.

2daedit is the best editor i found but i can't copy and paste more than 1 line at a time (it doesn't add the lines and I get an error). I tried to download it on your site but the zip file seemed to be corrupted(nothing happens when i open it)

Are there any tutorials up on the internet to learn how to
use this?

Verry nice! i changed a whole lot of 2da files thx dude.

Very nice!
Small gripes...
No mouse-wheel support and not "shell extended" to windows
explorer.
I associated 2daEdit with 2da extension but if I click on
an unopened 2da while I have one already opened, instead
of opening that file in the running instance, it'll spawn
another one...
Except for that, there's nothing I've noted though I
haven't really used it for now. But I suspect that it'll
change soon :D

great tool!

Wonderful tool, and terribly useful. Five stars.
May I make a suggestion for future editions? A search
feature would be helpful, for picking out specific terms
from the lists.
That's hardly a complaint, though. Excellent work.

Nizidramaniit' - whatever you are using it is NOT my
program. My Program doesn't have rules. Actually try
download my program first.
I mean, when you click on Help About it doesn't say by BG
Tool, does it?
Posted by Nizidramaniit' ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2002-11-22 03:32:00
I feel real stupid here, but when I open up the utility and
open any .2da file it asks me to make up a rule. I'm not
exactly sure what this means butsuspect some type of
parameter.
I've seen the rule form but really do not understand what
it's asking for.
If I don't set a rule, or set it to start without a rule, I
get an error while loading the .2da's.
Help???

Sadly, I still get error 91 for some reason. I am running
the latest non beta patch, and have not modified the file
in any way. Oh well :/

I heard u can make 2da files edit yor damage, how do you
do it?
Posted by DragonFist ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2002-11-18 00:31:00
This is great. I downloaded the .60 and man I wish I had
this while working on my hakpak. And I am glad that I
have it now since I shall likely be adding more to that
hak.

In a future version, some sort of 2DA merging will be
added. Around 0.70 I would guess. 0.60 is going to come out
soon with the Win9x crash fixed (I am 90% sure I have it
figured out) and with multi-cell cut/copy/paste working.

I second Kinar Greycloak`s request for joining 2da`s.
My idea on solving this is to point to a file to add lines
to. Then the user would mark the lines he would like
to add to that file and the tools edit the file in
the background by adding lines to either the end
or to overwrite lines that say "User" in the second column.
Dunno if your prog can work that way,
but it would be more than useful.
Anyway this is a great project you are working on.

New version 0.57 is up. The problematic copy/paste of
multiple cells I will be fixing tonight. Mainly it was me
not understanding certain aspects of Microsoft's FlexGrid
control and it was deselecting cells without my
permission :)
Posted by DragonFist ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2002-11-09 12:27:00
Sancus, that one doesn't even allow cut&paste, never mind
multiple lines.
Any one figure out how to do more than one cell at a time?
Thanks

Great idea. And already a very useful tool. I don't know if
you plan to expend on this, but in case you do: I agree
with Kinarr Greycloak that copy and paste of an entire line
would be a major enhancement. An other useful functionality
would be a way to save lines added to a 2da separately, and
import them back in the file if there is no conflict of
ID's and if the number of columns match, but I don't know
how much work this would mean for you... Thank you for your
dedication.

Whoa! This thing is pretty sweet. Yeah, sure, there is a
bug in opening 2da files, but if you get past that, this
thing is GREAT! Much easier than opening textpad. I have
many difficulties editing 2da files, and this helps a
lot! If they fix this thing, I haven't a clue why in hell
Bioware shouldn't add something like this INTO NWN. You
know, integrate it into the system! That would be
PERFECT! Bioware would be my new god . . . but then no
one is perfect. lol ;-)

Hey, I like this. It's very useful to see the column
headers when you are down at the bottom of the file. I got
the bug at first until I created a New file, then it let me
open any file after that.
Here are my suggestions for improvements:
- I can't seem to copy/paste an entire line at once, that
one's important
- Maybe keep the label column stationary on the left so you
can keep track of what you are editing on long horizontal files
- Add an undo
- Add a search
- Add an automatic merge option for 2da files of the same
name. For example, it could combine 2 different
appearance.2da files from different authors into 1 file that
has all the new entries. One of the most common questions I
get is how to combine hak paks so the ability to easily
merge 2da files would be a great benefit to the community.
Thank you very much for this utility and I look forward to
seeing you continue to improve it and take on these challenges.

Also keep in mind that while you and others like cube and
many in the community have a great understanding there are
those of us who don't but would love to contribute and
editors help. Work out the bug and keep designing BG.
