1. Beware the dead links, but there ARE links that work on this page.
2) Will work with all versions of 3dsmax (if you grab the 3dsmax version that is) but you may have to manually install. I have it working with Max 2012 with no issues after manual install. (just extract, then move files directly into the main 3dsmax folder, overwriting as necessary)

For all of you not getting the scripts to auto-run in 3DS Max, there is a catch not mentioned anywhere, since there is no NWMax documentation: The installation wizard asks for a path to install, but first, it doesn't auto-target the main 3DS Max folder, and second, even if you manually choose it in the wizard, a new sub-folder is created. The solution? Simple, Install NWMax anywhere you want (as long as you know where the folder is), and then, proceed to manually copy both the "GUI" and "Autorun" sub-folders directly into the main 3DS Max application folder, overwritting as prompted; this will only place the scripts into the right folders. Now, start 3DS Max, and Voila! NWMax is installed! Hope this helps those who can't get it to run.

Can't believe I hadn't already voted on this! Any critical breakdown of this submission (or my vote on it) would be moot, as it's hard to imagine modding without it, and hard to imagine an alternative tool doing as much as this does, as well as it does.
was wondering where the 3ds Max 8 version is...i've tried the one that says "for versions 6 through 8" but its never started up, thought it does work for 3ds 6, if a little buggy sometimes (it crashes if i stay in max too long after a model import, lol).

I would love to place my vote but I'm having problems with gmax plugin. I keep getting this error "DLL failed to initialize". gmax 1.2 loads fine but the plugin fails. I have read install directions and checked to see if the dlu is in the correct path "C:\gmax\plugins".I also checked "C:\gmax\PlugCFG" for nwn2utils.ini. Everything seems to have installed correctly. Not sure what to do.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Not sure how about this but im having some real annoyance with emitters useing NWNmax, when ever viewing the selected emitters modifier rollout I get an Unknown exception error and it directs me towards this line of code in teh aurora_helper_emitter.ms script
-- chunk rules
if (EmitTextChunkRollout.edit_chunk.text != "") and \
(EmitTextChunkRollout.edit_chunk.text != "NULL") then
Which seems to basicly make the Emiters texture and chunk rollout not show up and also doesnt fade out the P2P rollout when it aint checked. Which basicly makes the emitter tool completely broken.
Im using Max6 and running SP 2, considering how old this tool is and the last time it was updated... I sure hope im not out of luck :( ... otherwise there goes all my ability to mod NWN.

Sorry for double post. Wanted to correct myself. When I said "50% of internal functions work flawlessly" I didn't mean the rest didn't, I just haven't tested them yet ;) _________________________ You can't guarantee my sanity.

Just a note to everyone, this works with Max R9 SP2. I'm still testing but import works fine and 50% of the internal functions work flawlessly. I haven't tested export yet but I expect it to work since this is mostly scripting (something Autodesk usually lets slide between versions, unlike compiled plugins) _________________________ You can't guarantee my sanity.

This forum has become useless from spamming.
Also, I do not seem to be able to launch the tool after installing it. It starts the "snoop" program in the tray but no application is launched. There is also no documentation on how to start the tool. This makes it basically useless to me. _________________________ Sanctum of the Archmage Writing Projects Website and Blog Academy for Modding Excellence
