This is NW Portrait Manager 4.0 Final Version. The most major addition is the ability to move NWN portraits in and out of the Portraits directory into a storage folder you specify. You can also Que Portraits for download.

Good for sorting out portraits and then move them manually.. This application appears broken, though, in that it fails to move files between folders (the only thing working for me is delete, on windows XP). Too bad it doesn't live up to the high votes, even if its old :/ Thanks for at least being able to view portraits, though ^_^

Good for managing the many great custom portraits you download on the Vault. Unfortunately, some of the features don't quite work correctly (you can't use it to download any more, for instance) but it still makes the tedious task of browsing you Portraits folder a lot easier.

This seems to be ...broken. When I install it and try to update it I get a '404' error immediately...and that seems to be all she wrote. Too bad, because it sounds interesting.
does anyone know were i can get nwn game portraits

Hi,
I do not get a right click menu on any portrait. Moving portraits from the storage directory to the NWN directory does not work, the app shows the newly moved portrait in the NWN tab, but the file is not physically moved to the NWN portraits directory on disk (yes the .ini file entries for nwn dir and storage dir are correct). I thought this program was the answer to portrait management but I can't get it to actually move the portrait files.

Cool, thanks.

Ok I have had a look and there is no way to correlate the old vault site with the new one (as far as I can tell).
So I can release a NEW version but it will NOT be backward compatable with the old one. so you will have to download all the thumb-nails again (probably about 50MB of data at a guess).
Anyway I'll see what I can do.

Yes Vault overhaul totally smashed it.
I had a quick look and a fix would be tricky.
I'll have a look and if it is possible submit a fix.
Great program. It seems that the Vault overhaul may have broken the ability to link to portraits on the Vault, however. Any chance of a fix? Thanks. _________________________ NWN Campaigns - the NWN/NWN2 Campaign Database Naeldor Weekly Campaign
I just got pointed to this by a fellow project team member... spiffy! One feature I would *love* to have is a config option that looks at a particular URL path, and then optionally downloads any protraits needed to play on a particular server. Kind of like what you've done for the Vault, but not so global-- just for a server.Carpe Terra, Project Lead

Ok in the version I'm working on I have added Min Max buttons got it scaling correctly.
I have also added a storage directory which allows you to quickly move NWN Portraits out of you NWN portrait folder and into you storage folder (and back again).
I have add the ability to rate your portraits (1-10) and sort by your rating.
I have changed the internal file formats so all the file paths are relative so you can copy and move the entire NW Portrait folder around on your hard drive with out it spitting the dummy. This also allows you to change where the thumbnails are kept, they no longer have to be in the subdirectory \Thumbnails.
I'll test this version over this week and put it up this weekend. If you have anything else you want me to add now is the time.
Hmm ok I have some secreen rezz code lying around here some where, Ill give it a whirl and see how it looks. The path to your Portraits directry is stored in the ini file in the application directory, as stated in the docs. I also want to add the facility for a storage directory to allow you to quickly move portraits into and out of you NWN portraits folder. so look for an update soonish.
Okay- I'll agree with the general *neato* factor, but I've got some unhappiness here, too- No min/max buttons? It's set to a screen res that's too high, and won't adjust, so I have to turn everything else on my screen microscopic, just so it'll fit on my screen. (If I could adjust it's window size, that wouldn't be an issue, of course. *S*) It has no options whatsoever. It asked me once where my Portraits directory was, then I had no way to change or reset it, which would be awfully handy, as I'm running multiple networked PCs.
Other than those things, posatively nifty! Any chance any of that'll be changing?
If you don't have a Portraits folder then your install was not done properly. That folder contains ALL portraits for NWN itself.
I'd suggest that you move any modules, etc that you installed and then uninstall it. Once that's done, do a reinstall and let it do the defaults, which should be something like C:\NeverwinterNights. You should then be able to find that folder. The 50-50-90 Rule: Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability that you'll get it wrong!! _________________________ We are all born ignorant, but one must work to remain ignorant.

I was wondering if perhaps someone might tell me where the photo directory is? i have no earthly idea and i'd love to use this utility..:(

definately need some details on what it does, I for one would love a system which can rename the image folder to say 'master-portraits' and then copy all of the portraits needed for the bic files in my localvault into a new portraits folder.
I have several thousand portraits, and loading them all up every time I want to re-make a character is insane :)
Yes my friends just told me this was happening this weekend. I had a quick look at a fix but it would seem the master portrait list on the vault is broken in some manner. I have traced the links though using a normal browser and the are definatly broken. I'll send an E-Mail to maximus and see if I cant fix it.

I think this is one of the most useful utilities I have come across. However, I am not able to use it and when I try to download portraits I get "302 Moved Temporarily." Is there any way to fix this? Here is my error log:

this looks great. The only thing i cant figure out is if there is a way to simply download ALL of the portraits at one time? It seems that you have to do them one at a time... I would like to have most of them on my machine, and it would be easier to delete the few that i dont want than to download each one that i do.
Also is there a filter function that will make it so only the portraits that are not on your machine already are displayed on the IGN side?

Lilivati What this progam does is, it splits your screen in two .. on one side you have every portrait ever loaded up onto the vault network ( It parses the Vaults HTML and automatically downloads all the thumbnails ) and on the other side of the screen all the portraits in your NWN directory... you can then add and remove them as you see fit. It will automatically attach to the vault and download and extract them ( Zip and Rar only ) and add them to your NWN directory or... delete them from your NWN directory if you so desire..
You can also jsut download it and read the docs...
Would you mind releasing the source for this? I'd like to add the ability to save a filter and have the app load up with that filter applied. I'd send my modifications back to you of course.
'Course, if you want to add that feature yourself, so much the better!
Okay I am going to come right out and say it. YOU ROCK!!!!!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
Having a good picture really helps my role play experience.
Now can you make a tool that automates the creation of custom portrait haks in a similar see it click it and delete/add sort of a way?
