I liked Selvan's idea to portray a mage doing a spell so I decided to do one also. I thought Cate would make a perfect Red Wizard, and I also liked her profile pose, instead of the usual frontal look in the camera view I normally use. Clothing created from a dress I found on the net, added textures, recoloured several area's and liquified. Lighting effects and background added. Hope you like her :) UPDATE: I have added a 'mullet'less version of Kia. Just with short hair :) Both pics are included in a new ZIP-file.
I like it- though her head does seem unusually large ::shrug::

In all fairness I did miss that and it says here that my post was made at 1.15 am so I probably wasn't as alert as I could be.

Who the hell cares if she's bald, tattooed, red, green, yellow, orange??? As long as the portrait was brilliantly done, that's all that matters!!!! It's a FANTASY game for a reason!!! Ok, back to the portrait...On thing I have a minor confusion about are her legs, or lackthereof...I can see some kind of netting between the folds of her robe, but it's seems to thick to be her leg, and her position doesn't seem to say that her leg is hidden in the front fold of her robe. Unless she's doing some kind of teleport magic, and her legs have faded away first??Timmy C. Everything is only because you think it is. For indeed, your brain can be interpreting your senses' signals wrong...in which case everything that you think is real, is only a product of your imagination. _________________________ Timmmeahhhhhhhhh!!!!!

With all this talk about hair, I'm surprised nobody has mentioned that this girl appears to be sporting THE fem-mullet of the century. It could just be the way her hair is falling, over the far side of her head, but the viewing angle here makes a strong argument toward a short-n-spikey 'do up top, graduating to a waaaay longer back. What say you, Phaere? Was the original pic mulletastic, or is that just a visual trick?

Yeah, whatever. Though I have to admit a bald, woman with head tattoos would present an interesting challenge... I like this one. Great pose, creative use of hair, lovely effects.

Red Wizards in general shave their heads so they may have tattoos there, but make no mistake, there are plenty that don't... It's really a 50/50 type of deal. Am i qualified to know this? You bet I am. Link Thanks... Nice portrait by the way...

Actually, not only are the Red Wizards of Thay bald, but they also tatoo their heads. At least the ones that hope to get anywhere in the political/social structure of Thay. That pretty much covers every wizard of Thay. Maybe she is a red wizard spy in another country.

NERD ALERT! Who cares if the portrait is not bald. I prefer women with hair anyways. Great photo. If Phaere wants a red wizard with hair, then Phaere can have one. Sinead O'Connor had her day, but that was a long time ago. Guys, NWN is about freedom; enjoy the game rather than displaying how bored you are to bash people's great artwork. I like the portrait; good work.If I can draw a map of Athkala better than Manhattan, does that make me a nerd? _________________________ No one crosses the Shadow Thieves... and lives.

Balgin you really should get your eyes checked. Considering you state that you did not see any reference to Thay in neither the name nor the description. But the name clealy says "Kia, Red Wizard of Thay" (hin: Note the "Thay" part of the name) I don't know why you missed this, perhaps you didn't see it, or you didn't understand it. But next time I suggest that you look over all the facts before you comment.
