This racial system uses a new technology, NWNX LETO. Using letoscript this racial system changes the properties of a character permanently. I shit you not.
Some properties though, can not be stored in the server vault character file. For those I use supernatural effects.
Adding subraces is very easy. Just add a new case to the switch in dar_list.

And alot of thanks to the leto team. But mostly dragonsong. :)

First of all, I'm crazy about dar!!! Been using it forever... well least until receantly...
I'm still on 1.66 and using dar v10, or at lest trying to, since it just stop working... Bic files are not getting edited. I know many have reported this same error, usually leading to the simplest corrections but, really, I must be missing somenthing...
I've got nwnx2 and leto right, and the dar_on and aps_load on their proper places... I've tested every possible comibination of "//s", "/s" and "\s" one can imagine in config file... Even reinstalled NWN and nothing! I assume it is no code problem in the module, since I can't run succesfully any module with dar...
What I'm saying is: I have no idea what is wrong. 've Read all the forum, lost night's sleep in this but can't get it to work... Does anyone hav any hints on what should I do now? Anything at all that could be messing the system (besides missinstalling nwnx or leto, compilling or compatibility errors or wrong config paths, since I've tested this enough)?
I love you demux.*hugs* _________________________ -Skeez

Very good subrace script. Easily modifiable to make your custom subraces.

The idea behind DAR is so simple yet such a powerful tool. It is an absolutely brilliant system, and deserves to be in Hall of Fame :) Thank you demux for making such a wonderful script for NWN. _________________________ Shayan's Subrace Engine (The most simplest way to create your own subraces!): Download it here

Now we can seriously think of adding subraces :)
Implementation is clean, it's easy to put in action, and it has very very few drawbacks (needs some disabled useless option on server :)).

I am currently shopping around for a good Subrace system, and stumbled on this one. My biggest question is did the 1.66 update allow PC's to have Special Abilities again, or do you still have to work with custom items for the abilities?

This system rocks :)
One thing that I'm running into is that my server is set to restart when empty. If you are the only person in when you get a "relog for racial effects" and you relog in, the character update doesn't happen. I'm guessing that the module restarting is causing this problem. Is there any way around that?
Demux,
Tha actual message get when I try going to your download site and dowloading v10 is "Error opening counter file to increment: Permission denied". Hope that helps _________________________ aka The Guardian of Orlanthia

I am having the same prob as an earlier poster, but I have NWNX2 installed and leto scripts, all the required dll files, also have the right path for the nwn folder, tested it online on a server but the abilities do not add. This is what I get from the log file:
Subrace Drow found!
Character is new.

Any suggestions of what I could be doing wrong, oh and I have also added the aps script onto the module OnLoad and included the include script. _________________________ §çà®Fãçë
Yea, it stinks, sure I could write a check that gives out the item on enter, but it seems silly since it looks like all the functionality is already in DAR..:) Thanks for responding though, ram!

don't know bout that skivvy, im handing the subrace thing off to someone on my small dev-team to see if he can make a workaround -- think he's gonna some other systems but if he gets the creature item thing done with this system , ill post .
I am trying to use this "subrace.Item1 = "it_urdunnir_sr"; subrace.Item1l = 1; // Level the player must have to get the item." to issue items in order to get around the special ability problem. Has this funcitonality changed? I am printing a debug statement in dar_func, and it doesnt seem to be hitting the createitemonce area. Any thought?

demux,
is there a timeframe for an update that would "fix" the creature ability problem i am having? I've got your subrace system installed in a mod that will be running as a PVP PW. I'm about 3 weeks away from launch so no pressure here..
Well I changed the check to this "if((iSSlvlAbs 9)) return;" Since it appears that everythng in dar list sets to -1 at the top, it appears that it worked. I was just wondering if someone could verify. Cheers.

(Open "dar_sne_function"; search function "SSAbsorption".
The problem is in the first check: "if((iSSlvlAbs 9)) return;"
All the iSSlvlAbs (stSubrace.spelllvlX) are initialized to 0 in the "dar_list".
Because of this reason, the SSAbsorption's check is always valid and it creates that strange spell immunity.
I have changed the check in : "if((iSSlvlAbs 9)) return;" and I have initialized all the stSubrace.spelllvlX to -1.
Sorry for my English ^^
Thanks to Haevenless's Scripter, who ha found the source of the problem!)
Can someone explain to me how to do this? I found the check, but am unsure what exactly needs to be changed in the two scripts. Sorry if this is easy. Also, on demux's site, the race list is missing, just an FYI. Other than that, looks like a great system from what I have seen so far. Cheers.
