Moonlight and Shadows no longer exists as a Neverwinter Nights 2 Persistent World.
Myself and Soulfiend reject any connection with the current version, which has been extremely badly managed since our passing of it to the current management team.
Why did we pass it on?
We were promised dedication, time and frequent updates from the current management.
This has not been forthcoming (6 months have passed) , therefore we withdraw all responsibility for the PW currently known as SilverMarchesPW, or moonlightandshadows16b.
The PW is rarely online anyhow.
We shall be forming a team and have a potential server host for NW3, should it see the light of day and be available for PW builders.
We are very disappointed with the current turn of events.
Our thanks to all our players and staff that supported the original version of Moonlight and Shadows and the 1659 players that registered on the original website, between 2006 and 2009, you are all fondly remembered.
If you wish to play in the Savage Frontier, I suggest you go here.
It's the original NWN, which you can pick up for around 7 euros, but you will have alot of fun and DM interaction.

I'm not entirely sure what you're on about. You haven't visited the website in nearly 6 months and before that for approximately 8 months. If you had you'd have know we're no longer an application server!!
You posted 3 times on the forums, none of them bug reports, nor suggestions, and none of the senior staff have any recollection of receiving any applications whatsoever.
When we were application, it was clearly stated in the rules that if you felt you'd been passed over to contact a member of staff to ask for a reason, none of which was ever forthcoming.
I can only assume you olay on another server and voted us down out of spite (for whatever reasons).

i played on this server since it opened untill you had to fill out an acceptance form, and they addeds a pass word, then i submitted 4 applications to get back in adnall were ignored. I loved the server and would have given it a 10 but I guess i am not good enough because my application wasnt up to standards (Even though I helped test many areas, help them spot out bugs and constantly tried to help improve the server by sending in suggestions areas and whatnot, but I guess I am just worthless piece of junk...Thanks for taking away the only nwn 2 server I liked from me...My eamil is [email protected] if you want to contact me

I've been searching around PW servers and this one looks to be promising. However, I have one issue. For some reason I cannot access the website to download the hak files needed. When I say I cannot access it, I mean nothing . . . I get nothing but blank, white pages. Any ideas or help on this issue, or is there anywhere else I can get the hak files I need? Thanks.

The roleplay is excellent quality, and the DM Staff is very knowledgable and friendly, always willing to help out.

I have been a part of the server for about 4 months now and enjoy it immensely. I am recent to PW roleplaying. It is the only server I have found that is set in and true to Forgotten Realms Lore. Why make all kind of stuff up when you have all you need already? There are many excellent roleplayers on the server and I've noticed a lot of new players recently as well. The DM staff is tough but fair. I have no qualms about the staff; they work hard to create a great environment for all to enjoy. I have learned alot about roleplaying in my short time here and would not go anywhere else. Whether your a seasoned vet or new to the game; you should definately give this one a try. It is a high roleplay server, with plenty of areas to explore and plenty to do solo if your in the mood for it. The areas are huge and well done. And, yes they have the UnderDark! I think the rules are well balanced to encourage roleplaying and discourage metagaming w/o over doing it.
In closing, this server freaking rules.

Also might I suggest editing your features part of your world description. There isn't any persistent banking, vaulting or an in world dynamic newspaper.

Nothing has changed as far as I can tell. As for sending you a PM about the problems I again followed the chain of command as Guywise posted (and you edited) in the "Anyone who does not read and sign will not be welcome" post. Soulfiend PM'd me with an apology for you and DreamWorker stating that you two get hot under the collar sometimes. That still doesn't excuse DW's constant harassment when I log on, period. Recently I haven't been harassed but I contribute that to my not playing on the server alot and the lack of DW being on as well. Hopefully your new junior DM's won't get you or DW worked up so you have to take your frustrations out on others.

If you enjoy serious roleplaying, with emphasis on playing out your character, building a history, feeling part of a complex web of relationships and politics, then this server is a must. It has a great community of players that are mature, patient and not closed minded.
And best of all, zero tolerance for smacktardish behaviour.

Unfortunately, I've not been as present as I used to be due to RL constraints mainly, and probably gloss over quite a bit of forum posting as evenings are quite compressed now.
I think I posted somewhere that if players do have a real complaint that they felt wasn't being given enough attention, not to hesitate to PM me.
Saying that, it probably got lost somewhere in the topic.

As you well know the postings on the forums have been edited and cleaned up some, which is great by the way. As for why this hasn't been brought to your attention, I used the chain of command and the problem took care of itself. As for the senior staff, you know who it is. They even posted as such and said they would work on being more polite.(I just had a snide comment made to me in a /tell by this senior staff. Out of the blue so my guess is they are still working on the polite part.)
Why haven't I come to you, could be all the general ban threats made by that senior staff. So until that person decides to treat people with a little respect my above comments will remain. By the way that vote was supposed to be 7.5 not 4.0.

I believe you've been influenced by two disgruntled ex-DM's who have obviously let on their grievencies after being refused certain unreasonable demands which had little to do with the player base, probably in game.
Searching the forums I find nothing verbally abusive, nor hateful from senior staff. It is possible you mis-interpret some of the posts as well.
You are also judging the PW on what is, according to you, being posted on the website forums, added to this you clearly state you haven't been targetted (as indeed no one has.)
Also if you feel this way, why haven't you contacted me with the specific issues, should they exist..

I would like to add a caution to my above post. The Senior staff can be rather verbally abusive. After being on the server for a few more weeks I�ve noticed quite a few �hate� type postings and in game �To hell with you all� bulletins. These are from the senior staff no less. Just a word of warning, I cannot recommend this server the way it is now. I haven�t been targeted by any of these posts but even I feel unwelcome now. It�s a shame too. This world did have good potential.

I have been playing on this PW for about a month now and feel it's time for me to rate it.
1)World design: Good - Some areas are nicely done. Others seem bunched up and pointless while others seem partialy done(WIP).The indoors(caves, buildings, dungeons etc.)of some of the areas seem barren and cookie cutter(same tavern in three different towns etc.). Not much eyecandy basically. I just wasn't impressed. And there are PWs out there that are very impressive. Only a fair assortment of mobs also. Another drawback is the low magic setting coupled with the Forgotten Realms world. A Realm that�s anything but low magic.
2)Playability: Good - A little over half of the static quests work. The others they are working on atm(some since june of last year). Server crashes a lot based on my experience with other Pws.
3)Staff/Dms: Good - There are good ones and there are abusive ones. As for creativity, I�m not seeing anything that stands out. All the quests that I�ve been on and heard about were pretty linear and not really dynamic. But the DMs are active which is more than I can say about some other Pws.
4)Roleplaying: Excellent - There are some great roleplayers on this server. A big plus. While it may not get the highest mark(very few Pws do) it definitely gets the second highest. Kudos to the player base!
5)Enjoyability: Good - It can be a fun world under certain circumstances.
Summary: A PW that is definitely still a WIP but has great potential. I can only see things going up from here(as well as my score). So come on in and have a tankard with a grumpy dwarf or a chat with the druidess in the grove. This game world is very good and deserves a look!

I joined M&S about three months ago. Wonderful gameworld with lots of dedicated roleplayers and many interesting areas. A great player base, with a very active DM and build staff. This world is wonderful. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good RP exerience with some fun adventure and combat mixed in. Best Persistant World that I've found, and I've tried quite a few.

In the last week, I've already had the opportunity to participate in a dm scheduled event. the RP aspect is paramount on this server, which brings with it an experience more akin of tabletop dnd. Also, the builders did a fantastic job on the module.

Very fine. best Roleplayer's serev I've found so far.
The environments are nicely designed and *polished*, something missing from many servers. The player community is (by and large) friendly, considerate and helpful.
DM involvement is present but not heavy handed. A big problem with NWN/NWN2 PWs that can ocurr with actively invovled DMs is the "DM pet syndrome." I have not seen any of that here.
FWIW I disagree with the extended poster above. Level dependent spawning is as old as PnP D&D "wandering monster" rolls. Expecting higher levels not to leave their spawns around as inadvertent (or purposeful) death traps for lower levels is a common courtesy. Maybe eventually monster spawns could be made to 'time out' and clean themselves, or ignore lower levels entirely (as is true in most MMOGs). But until then, this seems a reasonable bit of courtesy to require.

I've just started playing on the server, and I have been having fun. From what I've seen, the areas are well made and the PCs Ive met are quite interesting.
