This project can no longer be supported by its author. If you want to take it from there and carry on its vision, please contact the author for transfer
If you do want to take up the project, all that I ask for is that you mention the initial author (Thunderblade_33) and contributors (MokagTGS and Dragonsbane777) in your entry. This one will be kept for legacy purposes and redirect to yours.
It would be a shame if 3C died. Placeables, Items/Armor, and PC Parts are the heavy hitters and that means only 3 people. The other categories could be drastically less work and other people would be more likely to step forward for it.
Content Release v1.00
Builder files v1.00.11.0
What version numbers mean:
- Haks: 1 . [3C update] (ex: 1.00)
- Builder Files: 1 . [3C update] . [MotB patch update] . [3C builder/2da files update] (ex: 1.00.11.0)
- Players only need to worry about the [3C Update] version. The other numbers are for builders.
*Content + 2da updates to be expected every few months, depending on the amount of content releases on the Vault.
*2da updates to be expected 1-2 weeks after NWN2 patch and hotfixes.
What is 3C? The Community Content Compilation (3C) is an initiative to make custom content more easily available for use by the community as a whole.
Using a single repository for the content prevents useless duplication of files that shouldn't be duplicated in the first place. It's also more convenient for builders and players alike, as they would have fewer haks to worry about. Your module-specific haks can now be much smaller, and focus on module-specific changes instead of having to also worry about merging all the nice vault models together.
This package's goal is also to further recognize and reward the artists' work by putting their creations in a widely useable format, showcasing their talent to more builders and as a consequence to more players.
the 3C initiative is intended as a COMMUNITY project. To send an update or an improvement of any kind, either post about it below or email me or MokahTGS.
What 3C is NOT about 3C is not the CEP. It's more specialized. Unlike the CEP (Community Expansion Pack) for NWN1, 3C specializes on base models, content, and only the 2DA files to make it work. No fluff. For your convenience, it does not (and will never) contain any scripts, TLKs, GUIs and the like. Those files are the sole domain of specialized ruleset haks and of whoever builds their own module.
Who made 3C? First of all, the authors of all the content provided both in this pack and on the vault (list available below).
Their work was compiled by MokahTGS and Thunderblade_33 and, in the case of the music compilation, by Dragonsbane777.
* 3C_core_areas.hak
Tilesets, doors, terrain and grass.
* 3C_core_armors.hak
Body armor, clothes, hats, cloaks, boots, gloves and belts. All race/gender supported releases only.
* 3C_core_creatures.hak
Creatures of all kinds.
* 3C_core_pcparts.hak
Wings, tails, faces, hairstyles and the like for Player Characters
* 3C_core_items.hak
weapons, shields, holdables and item icons.
* 3C_core_placeables.hak
Placeables. The gargantuan lot of them.
* 3C_core_vfx.hak
VFX files compilation.
How to Download and Install
To unpack 7z archives (and pretty much every known compressed file type), use the completely free program 7-zip, available at Link
Players: download and place the latest version of the 3C haks in your My Documents/Neverwinter Nights 2/hak folder. If you want to use the haks in your module without further changes, also grab the 2da hak from the "toolset files" download. That's all.
Builders: In addition to the above, you will need to place the loose 2das in your override, add the toolset icons to your toolset folder (instructions provided) and add the blueprints erf to your module.
Haks are compatible with all versions. 2DAs are MotB's, so you will be able to use them but will see MotB + 3C entries in the NWN2 toolset.
For further help with installation, first see this article by Heed about installing custom content in NWN2: Link

Will there be a soz version aswell? unfortunately i found this part here after i installed soz and only some of the effects are shown the placeables not.
Or does anyone know how, after adding the placeable to my soz placeable .2da i can change the placeablenu,ber in the file of the placeable in question so i can see it in the toolset?
Could someone explain how to view the vfx in this pack? There are blueprints apparently but nothing I place shows anything.

Unsure exactly what is going on, top shows updated March, but I can't seem to find what was updated (my files are dated Jan, so it appears I have the latest).
Forgot to say, all my items start at #40 (shields, swords, etc). _________________________ Reino de Aldor

It's interesting that many people are building quite well with 3C. I agree that BCKII is essential, and it will be added, but that work will most likely be done by those in the community that help and support community efforts like 3C. _________________________ Mokah - The Grumpy Strumpet || Dear Strumpet Letters|| Jabberwocky Development Blog|| Vertex I - The State of the Union ||
Raith, I hope you can get it in shape, because I don't like the renumbering decisions that Skullhak has made. This thing, OTOH, is really out of date and not ready to build with (BCKII -> placeables ASAP please).

I would like to step in and help if I could. I disagree with those of little faith in the NWN2 Community to provide a quality compilation for builders and players alike. I think as long as the Community is behind it (and it isn't an exclusive club to approach), that this could work.
With the scope set to where it is at, not twinking with custom scripts/tlks/classes/skills/etc and merely offering raw content to enrich module enjoyment, I think the 3C could be the answer to a central repository for quality community work. No builder wants to have to cook up their own custom haks just to add many of the "must have" haks from the vault. This game was left wide open for this very reason, to customize it.
Anyhow, before I post a disertation or lengthy bug list, let me just say, it CAN work, and I'd like to help it do so. _________________________ Raith Veldrin

Is there a forum or place where this group gathers? I am wondering because it might be a better place for folks to post bugs and offer support rather than this (now long) series of posts here.

This is what NWN2 builders need! All the content people have worked amazingly on in one download- no fluff. Please keep it up- the less I have to convolute my NWN2 folders with tons of files the happier I am. And to the various builders to which most credit goes to- THANK YOU!

I am looking forward to seeing more content. Maybe some great animals or underwater things?

wildernand:
There is not a single 2DA in 3C that would do what you are claiming in regards to skills. This is not a 3C problem and so your concerns, while regretible, are not caused by 3C content.
@meykeru-sensei: this is for builders and end users, but only for player created content such as modules and persistent worlds; while these could be hooked into the OC and MotB, they would have to be unhooked each time you update the game.
quick question here
just starting with modding NWN2.
My main question is this:
is this content meant for builders (wich i'm not),or does it include content that alter the official campaign (without manually having to alter it)?
@wildernand: To the best of my knowledge, this content does nothing that should affect the Player Character in the way you are complaining about. Are you sure you posted your complaint in the proper entry?

The issue with the placeable pack is the fact that the "Building Block" haks are conflicting in the placeable.2DA. Namely BCK2 and the CityHAK. Since the numbers overlap I have to move one of them (most likely the CtiyHAK) to a new number range. This completely messes up an .erfs or prefab areas that use the moved hak, but for 3Cs purposes, that can't be helped.

Most of us realize you have to go through areas and fix many things when dealing with combined haks. I have put area building on hold for that reason. I was just hoping for an estimate on release... We all appreciate the work you are putting into this! I haven't noticed the skill's problem. Just assumed it worked. Nice catch. That really needs to be looked at... I wish I had a steady Internet connection. I would like to help out. Unfortunately I would have to be taught what to do also. I have little experience working with haks...

Until you fix the skill table when leveling I will not use this content. I don't like the results from hitting the recomend button because some of the skills I would raise are kept at 0! This is unaceptable. Why just not let us use the original where we can change them. I can do without altering the companions classes. They aren't important. The Player Character is the IMPORTANT character in the game. Sure it is nice to be able to do that but if you don't !FIX! the skill part I will consider this unusable in any game mod I design. I would have given you a rating of 9+ if it weren't for this problem.

BCK II is on my list. My internet connection is not yet up to snuff, but I'm working on the 2DA. The next task is the blueprints which is a big deal. It's comming but it will be a bit slow.

Any idea when this is coming? Don't mean to rush but It's been a while....
Okay, I am a bit confused, though I had thought I was custom content file savvy...this won't help me if I want to use, for example, the body parts (specifically the heads, hairs and wings etc) as a player, and not in a specific module using that hakpak? I had hoped this would give me the ability to use both MaeBe's and Whatbricks hairs at the same time, as currently they have overlapping numbers, which I don't really know how to fix myself. But since this here is only haks, and not override, I suppose that it won't help me much, right?
Some help would be appreciated here...

@chris421: I think you miss the point; this is not intended to be the "everything but the kitchen sink" project that the CEP turned into. This has the potential to bring the same kind of parity to NWN2 module building that the CEP did, but it is meant to leave some responsibilities with the module builders as far as module-themed content is concerned. What is interesting is that there may only be one or two 2DA files that conflict once I get the PRG farther along, and I could work with the 3C folks to make sure there is no conflict in those.
