This download contains several new armor models that will allow module builders to depict suits of Japanese samurai-style armor in their modules. The armor is available for the human male and female bodies, and includes a number of new inventory icons to reflect these new items.
I hope to, in the future, append this hak file with further Japanese-style armor and clothing. This is the first release, hence the 1.0.
Version History
1.01 - Changed the file names to start at number 200 in the toolset instead of starting at 49, which was apparently conflicting with the Jester Gear armor.
This is the Override edition of this download. It is generally recommended not to needlessly load the Override directory up with loads of files, but this may be preferable for those who are looking merely to try the models out or use them with pre-existing modules, including the NWN2 Official Campaign.
Would like to see it altered for elven models also. _________________________ None is master of his destiny.

Override isn't working.
I've read some people are missing the shoulders but I'm missing everything. when I wear it it looks like a normal armor. It could also be that Im not equipping the right armor. What are the names of these armors in game?

Wonderful. Hope to see more Oriental content!

This is great work and just waht I was looking for as well. I would give it a Ten if the armour was for all races, but I'm not going to whine to much about that.
For those having trouble with the Override version I do know what the problem is. The file called "A_Shoulder201_n.dss" was not included with the override version but is in the Hak. Of course your going to need to download the Hak and something to unpack it (look in the "tools" section) if you want to retrieve this texture.
Cant wait for the update! I actually held off playing through the original NWN 2 main campaign until I saw your initial release, now I think I'm going to hold off on MOTB until your update :D

This is great work.
I noticed below a few comments about the texture issues regarding the shoulders for the override. I just pulled the shoulders from the hakpak and replaced the ones in the override with them. The once in the hak pak seem to work just fine. No texture issues. _________________________ Coen

Just thinking, forgot to mention the lack of japanese faces, the cool long skinny beard, and of course the top knot. I should stop now though, I could really get carried away. Last thing: I also noticed the issue with no texture for shoulders in the override version.

Perfect, absolutely incredible armor. Gotta love feudal Japan. Now I just want a good wakizashi, nodachi, maybe a Tachi (which would probably just be a different katana blade), naginata, mempo (mask), the banners, and maybe some of those big, rectangular shoulder pieces. Oh, and how about some ninja, sohei, and ashigaru armor? Well, I can always dream, but for now at least I have really good samurai armor.

dont use it as much as I would like to verry nice work. _________________________ You may be a King or a lolly street sweeper, but some day you all dance with the Reaper.
I am also having the same issue as Ruaha. I DL'ed override version, but shoulders aren't displaying properly. The shoulders are present, but no color on the rear half, as well as words "2D missing texture" across the shoulder pad sections.
Words "2D missing texture" - on the shoulders. I've checked it_ar_samurai001 & 002 and it_he_samurai001.
I have patch 1.04. Used as override.
Do you know any remedy for this?

Beautiful!
It's nice to finally get some oriental stuff for NWN2!
Not that i mind the S&M bondage gear and chainmail bikini's ;)
But this is really awesome! _________________________ Ninja, the cooler kind of rogue.
One question?
I started to try to create a new armour based on your mesh by alphaing out the lower armour parts and just let there be the pants! For some very strange reason the alpha channel doesnt apply - in fact at every other model i used the alpha channel (of the diffuse map) it always were functioning, just your armour - which is great btw (see comment above) - works different!
Have you any idea?
Or better! Could you merge an OE model (e.g. HHM_CL_Body06) with your samurai armour pants!
I really would like to have a robe version of this or a similar (ninja, desert warrior etc..) armour mesh!
Thanks for reply

I love this hak, and would like to see more like it.
I would have given it a ten, but I've had quite a bit of trouble using the armor, especially building other sets to resemble it. I would also suggest an erf of the finished sets as a nice addition, as well as more detailed information on usage, like the selections required to make the appearances in Sin's Plugin item Lab...

wonderful work. the helmets could use a bit more work..maybe the facemask (at least a partial) could be added, and the top of the head is a bit too bowl-like, but other than that really top notch stuff!
this is AMAZING! i was wondering if u were gonna be doing a hakama type thing too, that would be SO cool! this work and detail is just amzing =]

This is quite a good piece and fairly accurate but I am having a problem with the shoulder textures appearing with the override version. I get a message which reads "Texture Missing" on the shoulder pieces only.
Any chance you'd reconsider doing these for all the races?

Thank you so much.
I would still love to see this for all races, but humans is a wonderful start.

Wonderful piece shazzwozzer!
Definitely up there with the best. I dont think I'd use it myself (even though I've got it in the override), but I'd recommend it to anyone.
By the way, i just saw these sketches in the ideas database.
Since you're more than gifted with 3d modelling, would you have a look? I think they really have great potential.
Keep up the brilliant work!
