Name  RWS Deep Chasms Tileset
Author  RWS
Submitted / Updated  10-20-2007 / 11-15-2009
Category  Tilesets

Patch  1.12
NWN2Game  NWN2:SoZ
Description
The Deep Chasms is ostensibly an extension to the Caves tileset that comes included with Neverwinter Nights 2 and Mask of the Betrayer. What Deep Chasms brings to the builder is Pits and chasms as well as expanding the tileset into a full 3 level tileset. Where meandering tunnels travel both up and down in the same area.

At the request of several PW Admins we have broken the 2da files out into a seperate hak. This has little effect on the non-PW player but makes a great difference to PW players who will be DLing a PW specific set of 2da files that might conflict with ours.

See the instructions PDF for more information

Eric Rosendahl (Baron) Design, modelling & texturing
Patrick Robinson (Hellfire) Modelling & texturing, in-game implementation

Please remember to upload the toolset icons when you grab this set - it will make understanding the tileset a whole lot easier.

This work splendidly, and I can put it to use right away. The only minor nits are that the 2nd floor texture didn't seem to work properly and some of the stalactites seem a little too regular/geometric in cross-section. I had to overlay rock placeables to make the columns look more natural. Otherwise, excellent work!

Great tilest, got me back into modding after getting burned out on the regular cave tileset. Adds a whole new dimension to building convincing caves.

A plane square choice for the lowest level without wall and "collumn" would be nice .
Character walk often in the air (the walmkesh seems to be badly calculated)and you can't use texture square placable very well.
A easiest walkmesh with the square low low medium medium or h h m m.(all)
Adding new texture would be a great thing(like the cavern 03 floor or the snow one someone made). If i ever find a tutorial about how to do i will give it a try.

Is there a simple way to take off the ceiling to use the map as fake exterior ?With a deep fog it could allow to do some interesting map.(like battlefield in fog ect ect).

Great addition to the caves tileset, a bit more diversity in the middle and low height level tiles would be appreciated, though.

Posted by TheAzenith at 2009-06-08 10:55:41

Great Tile i use a lot actually .
My only reproach will be that in some dispositions , monster are often blocked in walkmesh when following a player.

This is a very nice tileset! It would be nice if you could make more icons for the tiles though; there are still some that don't have any pictures.

The only complaint I have is that the directions don't indicate that the 2da hak file is needed by builders and end users for the content to display properly in game.

Posted by Ransom at 2008-03-05 11:25:44    Voted 10.00 on 03/05/08
This is fantastic because, using these tiles, one can create caves with deep water pools (just use the lower level tiles and paint water over them) and caves with ceilings high enough for large creatures like dragons. Excellent.

I have used this absolutely great tileset on and off for the last two months. Just forgot to vote, so here you go! :)

just a note: should be compatible with new patch (motb only)

Posted by baron rosencheckl at 2007-12-11 15:40:40
high is the standard oei caves tileset :) I'll look into the doorway, though im pretty sure it has a hook - I've noticed some real finnicky behaviour of doors hooks sometimes

Posted by Viconius at 2007-12-09 09:46:45    Voted 10.00
Both variations Hall_End_1_Door_Variant tiles are missing the door hook point it seems, can't get the doors to "snap" on to their places in these type of tiles.

Also this tile has both low and medium hight, will it eventually have "high"-hight as well?
