What is Mage Tome?

Mage Tome is a mini PRC and spell (70+ currently) pak designed to make playing wizards and other
magic using classes more enjoyable. New PRCs, spells and systems will be added
over time.
Compatibility with Other Mods/Haks
----------------------------------
- Compatible with Reeron, Kaedrin, ladydesire
- Should be compatible with others that use reserved 2da ranges
1. Extract .zip file to a temporary location.
2. Copy dialog.tlk to C:\Program Files\Atari\Neverwinter Nights 2\ or to your \My Documents location.
3. Extract contents of override.zip to your C:\Program Files\Atari\Neverwinter Nights 2\override location.
4. Play as normal.

v 0.75 - Apr 16, 2008
- Added 10 Dragon Breath variant spells.
- Added revamped Summoning spell system. Existing spells kept intact. Includes elemental, spider and wyvern lines.
* MAJOR * Monsters summoned depend now on class and alignment. Needs some tweakng still, plus let me know what you think.
- Added Ice Burst and Hailstones spells.
v 0.45 - Jan 17, 2008
- Worked on Hellfire Warlock and Incanatrix PRCs. Hellfire Incantation not being given to HW, but you can
take it as a regular incantation. Constitution damage not working properly yet. Incnatrix is metamagic
master, made class similar to Arcane Scholar but more of an abjurer.
- Added counterspell ability. Very basic as I cannot access the Obsidian functions underneath main call.
Right click on target and select Counterspell to activate.
- Added X spells: Shadow Spray, Forcewave, Battering Ram, Sinsabur's Baleful Bolt, Horizikaul's Versatile
Vibration, Zajimarn's Ice Claw Prison, Zajimarn's Icy Field of Razors, Zajimarn's Avalanche,
Vhaerun's Nightshield, Mass Resist Energy, Dispelling Breath, Locate Creature, Read Magic and Foresight.

- Added Incanatrix and Magelord 'holder' PRCs. Not using real new feats yet.
- Added Chosen of Mystra and The Magister Template Classes. Four powerful classes Cannot be used unless cheat feat
in or given feat by PW DMs. Chosen of Mystra (5050), Magister (5051), Netherese Arcanist (5052), Elven High Mage
(5053).
- Unlocked existing spells that Obsidian removed for some reason: Ironguts, Stone Bones, Iron Bones, Ball
Lightning, Mestil's Acid Sheath, Black Blade of Disaster, Time Stop, Ice Dagger, Negative Energy Ray and
Negative Energy Burst.
- Added a few more new spells: Elemental Shield (Cold), Cacophonic Shield, Great Shout, Sphere of Ultimate
Destruction, Snilloc's Major Missle, Flashburst, Ilyykur's Mantle, Stone Sphere, Fleshiver, Nybor's Wrathful
Castigation and Greenfire. Also made Icelance usable by druids.
v 0.25 - Jan 5, 2008
- Added Arcane Devotee PRC.
- Fixed Archmage spellcasting levels. Make sure to take proper feat at first level.
- Did work on Disciple of Mephistopheles PRC. It is close to done now. Still need to tweak and get Fire Adept
feat working.
- Added Spell and Diabolic domains and Mephistopheles as a god to worship.
- Added many new spells including: Arcane Bolt, Sonic Blast, Kaupaer's Quickblast, Mordenkainen's Force Missiles,

- Loremaster in as final 'real' version. 2 default feats (dodge and extra lvl 1 slot) still used. Has proper
spellcaster levels.
- Archmage has proper spellcaster levels and spell-like ability feats available. Other feats selectable for now
just include normal wizard feats but you get one at every level.
- Added 7 new spells: Acid Storm, Acid Orb, Lesser Acid Orb, Mestil's Acid Ball, Shriveling, Darkbolt, Damning
Darkness. (Last three are Evil type spells, perfect for evil bosses.)

Whenever I try to gain a level in any of the prestige classes I get the following message, "[Server] Character level disallowed by server restrictions." I'm using the latest version of Motb and I have no other mods installed. Could anyone offer me any advice on this?
Hi this seems interesting but I haven't installed it yet since I have soz installed. I have read through the discription but I was wondering if there was any chance that this will be compatiable with soz in the future?
Nevermind, I think I figured it out thanks to the default 'gai_counterspell_dcr' script, it seems you need to have Dispel Magic spells memorized to get the system to trigger. It might be a good idea to mention that for those who haven't played NWN1 in years.
Also, I'm not quite sure why that default script wasn't used for counterspelling. It looks like it should work fine and I'm going to try it out shortly. _________________________ Nemo non Morior Anime Overviews MP3 Player Playlist
I'm curious about the Counterspelling Mode. I'm not sure if it's a problem on my end or if I'm just missing something, but it doesn't appear to be working for me.
The option appears on the context menu whenever I target an enemy, but selecting it doesn't appear to have any affect. My first attempt with the Counterspelling Mode was manually merging it with Tony_K's contextmenu.xml, and the most recent attempt was with it alone... and both had the exact same effect; nothing noticable.
Is it working for others? And if so, what is it supposed to look like and/or what are the additional requirements? I do have SoZ installed, if that matters. _________________________ Nemo non Morior Anime Overviews MP3 Player Playlist

If I interested only in the archmage pretige class. Can I install just that class in my NWN2?
BTW, great work ;) I love arcane spellcasting charaters
Well, It also disables my Swashbuckler and Doomguide Classes altogether, obviously it's not updated for SoZ, I'll definitely try to use it till it gets an update
Awesome. Would love to see custom icons and VFX for these new spells.

Correction to previous post, the archmage problem was fixed by reaplying the hakpak.
the reserved spell casting feats mentioned earlier are still acting bugged

Overall, awesome hakpak. The content was great, descriptions for all the spells, and some nice added PrCs.
with this being said, a few issues i have noticed
1. I was able to chose archmage at lvl 1, without the required abilities. Also at whatever lvl i took it, i did not gain any spell casting lvls (did not have choice to get feat you mentioned) or any cool archmages powers.
2: Clap of thunder (reserve spellcasting feat) would not reconize any of the spells i prepared that should have let me use it.
3: Winter's Blast and Storm Bolt activate cursor (after clicking to use the move) could not be targeted onto anything.
sorry if i mispelled anything, and please mention any ideas of why these things are messing up, i would love to be able to play the archmage :)
Sure if you have ideas for the epic spellcasting system, please let me know. It is a major job, and I look forward to any assistance - especially if you are aware of the code in the original PrC.
I took some time away from this mod to work on other projects and deal with some problems in r/l.
I hope to doing a version for 1.13 later for 1.14. I will be cutting the Hellfire Warlock since it is in SoZ and then fixing / tweaking items already in the mod.
After SoZ (to check for new features / code) I hope to start working on Epic Spellcasting system, although that is a major undertaking.
Really wish there were some news about this project.

I meant to suggest in my last post that you take a look at the PRC's coding for the epic spell system. I believe it's the closest to PnP that we have and could be a great starting place. I'd be more than willing to help out with this system and the related PrC, as well.
There are some excellent ideas going on in this pack! I'm particular interested in the epic magic system and the elven high mage. Any news on that front?

I am not sure the spell power feat is working. At first availability you can choose +1, +2, or +3. I would think that you would have to pick +1 before you have the option to pick +2 or +3? Is this a bug? Also I ran a test. When casting at 14th level spells came back with a 26 DC. When I level to 15, choose spell power +1, then +2 (as I get two feats at that level) technically the DC should jump to 29? (+1 for level and +2 for spell power) no? either way the DC only went up +1 (from 26 to 27). Lastly Summon Wyvern summons a cat and Raistlin's wheel of flame triggers a graphic but does nothing else.

Anyone having troubles trying to merge this with the MOTB and Kaedrin's work will need to add another column with **** right after the ConjSoundFemale column for the Mage tome lines starting on 2300 of the spells.2da
Can we get a checklist of what is functional and completed and what is not?
I understand this is an alfa/beta, but there is a large amount of stuff that is just at "placeholder" status, expecially the prestige classes.
I think everything should have remained unpublished to avoid having other community builders worry about placed 2da entries without actual released matching content, and to avoid having them worry about releasing some content just because it's mentioned here (like the archmage class, to quote an example).
An update with only the completed stuff out of the never-ending alfa/beta phase would be much preferred, and some of the votes given would be more deserved.
