Over time, I've been slowly fixing errors in the Mage Tome Mod as I've run across them over the course of my various games.
This is by no means a complete Patch... just a collection of minor fixes.
If you know of any specific errors contained in the Mage Tome Mod that I haven't yet gotten to, feel free to leave a comment and I'll see what I can do about it.

Netriak for the overland buff persistance coding

Recent Update: Fixed Arcane Fire description. Various added classes no longer have cluttered level-up feat selections (not optimal, but there doesn't seem to be any other way to separate spellcasting progression feats from bonus feats).

I have edited the vfx_persistent.2da and spells.2da, added the NSS and NCS files. Are those all that are needed for a spell to function? Raistlin spell still won't work

I'm not sure why, for some reason I still can't get Raistlin's Wheel of Flame to work. Maybe because I added it manually? I may have messed it up somewhere but I don't know where. I've overwritten Mage Tome with this, and used that to create my own copy on top of Wicked Magic since it has it doesn't incorporate Mage Tome. I've also checked the script in the override folder and it is the updated one. No duplicates whatsoever. It shows up in game, I am able to cast it - but no damage. Help, anyone? I'll try to compile to NCS if that would be of any help.
Remove it completely; turned out it wasn't necessary. I used a script-check to make sure you had to have the Arcane Fire feat for the spells to convert because I couldn't get the game to hide the default icon.
Anywhere I can think of to place the xml it removes the quickcast function from the game, and when I don't place it somewhere every spellcaster can use arcane fire but it doesn't seem to be working right. where is it supposed to go?

Hi I'm having the same problems as someone above mentioned about some of the spellcasting feats not telling you what they do.
I have Tony K AI and I have Tree Textures Overhaul along with Slimgui. Animal Companion addon. I also have this patch and Mage Tome installed in the My Documents/Neverwinter Nights 2/Override.

Hi I noticed that there are two files with nothing but a notepad file and those are the nar demon binder and the halruan elder. Are there any plans for those as well.
I'm not sure if you still update this, but from what I can tell Archmage spellpower doesn't seem to work for sorcerors, probably because it's based on Red Wizards spellpower. Or at least, I'm guessing that's why.
As i understand it this mage Tome patch is conflicting with tony K´s AI and Reerons spellfixes atm.
Only the Henchspells.2da will conflict with Tonk K's AI, and it's far from nessisary.
As for Reeron's... of course they conflict. They edit quite a few of the same files (Spells.2da and Classes.2da most notably). _________________________ Nemo non Morior Anime Overviews MP3 Player Playlist
fixed somehow myself, made the cardinal mistake to override the quickspell.xml in the default setting and used slimsui as a workaround...
As i understand it this mage Tome patch is conflicting with tony K´s AI and Reerons spellfixes atm. The tlk files are not a real problem but in order to let your counterspell and Archmage spellfire work i had to delete the contextmenu.xml in SlimUI and charakterscreen and creaturexamine xmls in Tonys AI. Reerons Prcs are not available at lvup.
Offkorn where do i have to put the gui files in. As of now i cant access the quickcastmenu. My only other files in the override are Tony K´s AI 2.2 and Reerons spellfixes 6.1
Come to think of it... this doesn't add any Feats to the general level-up.
Did you have something like Kaedrin's Mod installed? This .tlk file contains only Vanilla and Mage Tome lines. _________________________ Nemo non Morior Anime Overviews MP3 Player Playlist
If you're missing descriptions there is a VERY high chance you have the wrong dialog.tlk file installed. _________________________ Nemo non Morior Anime Overviews MP3 Player Playlist

The original work was great. Some issues I ran into as a Wizard:
- Epic Ruin was available throughout the leveling process as an epic spell.
- A number of blank entries in the leveling selection for feats. No descriptions available for them. Not sure what they were supposed to be, etc.
- Arcane Fire description isn't referring to the correct tlk entry for it's data. It's going on about summoning a creature.
Other than that, this is good work. I'm also voting for the original pack. I really wish this would get incorporated into or with other works; there are a number of great ideas implemented here and it's a pity to lose this due to a lack of update.
Also, Elven High Mage has no descriptive data associated with it about what abilities are gained, etc.
No directions on how to give the feats via console command (I'll look it up later), but it would be nice to test these and see what sort of things some of the classes can do. _________________________ Lan's Placeable Groups v1.5
I can't get his to work at all. I follow the directions, but when I get to the character creation screen there are just blank spaces where the new classes are supposed to be. It is quite frustrating.

9 - Outstanding, a Must Have
I noticed a little bug, I was able to select Epic spell greater ruin as 1 lv as wizard.
Also some spell descriptions could be more accurate. Any way this is a must have even with the bugs.

Wonderful. I'd taken trying to fix or create the missing bits myself but alas my computing/programming incompetence got in the way. Thanks. Any chance you plan on doing more of the pack? I'm happy to bug test or something for you.

@Offkorn: If I'm reading it correctly, the number in the 2da in each column is simply the integer equivalent of the sum of the hexadecimal values of each constant.
Unfortunately, that script may actually be harder to decipher than the 2da. It seems to use a host of hexadecimal masks to spontaneously decompile the large number found in the 2da. Each number position in the large number refers to a different mask... or something like that.
It's an impressive system. Though apparently highly user unfriendly. I may see about deconstructing it once I've restored the Mod/Guide information that was lost when my homepage recently imploded. _________________________ Nemo non Morior Anime Overviews MP3 Player Playlist

@Offkorn: I think some of the information is in the hench_i0_spells.nss included with his AI; it may not be immediately obvious though.
Added a henchspells.2da version with entries for the new spells.
However (and this is a large however) I have absolutely no clue what the majority of the seemingly arbitrarily large numbers used in that .2da refer to exactly since it doesn't seem Tony_K included a translation key. So the new spells were given lines from spells that were similar in effect.
As a result, the AI use for some spells may be somewhat questionable. If you notice any particularly odd spell casting choices, feel free to mention which (Mage Tome added) spell it was here and I'll fiddle with the numbers some more. _________________________ Nemo non Morior Anime Overviews MP3 Player Playlist
I've only tested the class with Sorcerer, so yeah, knowing what base class you're using would certainly help. _________________________ Nemo non Morior Anime Overviews MP3 Player Playlist

@jeffinak: What base spellcasting class are you using? You should be able to select a feat at Magelord first level that corresponds to your base class to enable the spell selection.
Ive been trying to build a magelord and the problem i keep running into is spell selection.....it doesnt happen, I should get full spell progression but so far nothing, not sure if its a bug in the pak or something on my end, any ideas would be most welcome
That's sort of why I'm not calling this a full Patch. I haven't looked at the Mage Tome Mod in-depth at all. Basically I'm just playing the game and then fixing whatever bugs, errors, or missing abilities appear.
The Chosen of Mystra, for instance, could be completely bugged to hell and I'll never notice because it requires a DM-added Feat (and I don't play Multiplayer). Which is why I added that little "If you know of any errors" post-script to the description. _________________________ Nemo non Morior Anime Overviews MP3 Player Playlist
Nice work. Do you have a list of which classes still have remaining issues? Also, it would be nice if you could just take over Mage Tome since Joshua Kalis doesn't seem to work on it anymore. I would love to see this continued into future versions such that I can install Kaedrin's 1.38 or something and drop the Mage Tome pack in for even more stuff. For me quality is the most important thing, though, because if I can't play my game or something isn't working right then I would rather have it disabled instead of "partially-working".
Spell script now checks for Arcane Fire feat, and Arcane Fire feat will now activate the Spontaneous Conversion Toggle. _________________________ Nemo non Morior Anime Overviews MP3 Player Playlist
Added the Archmage PRC's Arcane Fire ability. Turned out to be far easier than I thought it would be.
Simply select the 'Spontaneous Casting' Feat when leveling as an Archmage, and then use the little Spontaneous Casting toggle to switch between Arcane Fire and normal spellcasting. Just as if you were a Cleric or Druid.
Obviously, this can be slightly abused if you happen to have Cleric/Druid levels along with Archmage levels (since you get Spontaneous Conversion for free with those classes). However, the script will not run if your character doesn't have at least 1 level of Archmage (you'll get a message saying that you're not an Archmage), so it's not a huge exploit.
I may look into finding out what script checks if a character has the Spontaneous Conversion Feat, and altering it to include accepting the Archmage Arcane Fire Feat sometime down the line to avoid that small exploit. _________________________ Nemo non Morior Anime Overviews MP3 Player Playlist
Well, the simple answer is; combine them. There are several tlk editors available on this site that not only can edit tlk files, but can also compare two separate files and tell you which lines are different in each.
Or you could just track down LadyDesire's combined PRC Pack and use her Dialog.tlk file. _________________________ Nemo non Morior Anime Overviews MP3 Player Playlist
