Here is my first weapon minipack which will give you three new exotic weapons for NWN2.
After releasing my crescent moonblades, I felt like playing around a bit more with the concept.
So I made a new type based on the blades I found in a photograph of Bagua master Yang Shu Ton.
I have also resized the original moonblades to make them more true to the original weapon.
I had a couple of requests for an Indian Katar, or punch dagger, so I gave it a shot.
I'm not entirely happy with the result in-game, since the default dagger animations I used
aren't really appropriate. In time, I'll have to find a better one.
By the way, when I was searching for Katar pictures on the web, I came upon a huge picture
database of Indian weaponry (http://www.hindunet.org/saraswati/indianarms.htm).
The sight of all those pretty(and often pretty nasty) weapons really gave my inspiration a boost,
so be prepared to see more from this corner in the near future.
HOW TO USE:
Simply put the MDL, TGA and 2DA files in the override folder.
In the toolset, create a kama and look for the following model parts:
- part 80 for the original Moonblades (resized)
- part 81 for 2nd type Moonblades
- part 85 for the Katar
The assorted inventory icons are called it_we_moonblade01, it_wb_moonblade02 and it_we_katar01
This pack is not to be used under influence of alcohol, drugs, sedatives, or any spells causing
the effects of aforementionned substances. These are not toys. Sharp! Ouch! Keep away from children.
Thanks for using my weapon pack!
Feel free to post comments on the vault, or send me an email:

UPDATE: for compatibility reasons, I renamed the model and icon names.
I now use kama model slot 80, 81 and 85. and icon.2DA slots 2000, 2001 and 2005
Maybe I just love sharp shiny things and maybe I just played too much Diablo II...but weeeeee! Katars!!!! And the moonblades are awesome too! These are so most definately going in the module I'm making...This is exciting. I'm gonna go do a little dance now and, if I could, I'd hug you! _________________________ Why are the pretty ones always insane?

@ flem: The easyest way would be for me to change the names of the weapons, so they are considered as daggers. I could then send them to you. @ endriago: a new baseitem would be the key. Sadly I did not have the time to check in on that yet. _________________________ Edunas Project Leader, Tarim Yassahr

hmmmm...u have a point...i didnt think about that ^^... is it possible to ahve negative effects on a weapon, for example, if i use the katar, i lose feats which allow me to use weapons?? it might be too much but im sure there might be a way to wield the katar but not the weapon^^.....only time will tell^^

Oh, I'm not asking you to change your base release -- just wondering if there's a simple way for me to mod your mod for my mod. :D

I guess it's just a matter of perspective. I consider all of these weapons to be exotic. So if your character has the exotic weapon profficiency feat, he/she can use them. (as far as I know, they are not "monk only"). Now you could argue, if I play an exotic setting, these weapons could be pretty basic stuff. Or you could say, the punch-dagger seems pretty streightforward in it's use. I'd have to say you're right, but such are the choices you have to make, when you try to translate stuff into game rules. I for one am not a big fan of the weapon profficiency groups. Heck I'm not a big fan of a system based on restricting classes and levels. Actually I'm not a big fan of DD at all :P (Though believe me, I've played it for many, many years). But this is NWN and NWN is DD... As for having the katar handled as a glove, I think it'd be kinda weird if you could carry both a katar and a sword in the same hand... :P _________________________ Edunas Project Leader, Tarim Yassahr

Any way to easily attach these to different base weapon types (say, one as kukri, one as gloves/daggers)? These don't necessarily seem monk-only weapons to me.

SWEEET...i dont mind see it used against me^^adds feel to the game^^ i just had this idea of releasing the katar as a glove that does additional piercing damage ??it would have been cool that way you still have the animation plus it kinda makes sense since a punch dagger doesnt need exotic weapon prof^^ punch daggers are easy to use weapons which were just supposed add a bit more punch to the punch^^

I could make an override pack which replaces existing weapon models. But this would change a couple of weapons in the entire game, so don't be suprised if you see them used against you ;) _________________________ Edunas Project Leader, Tarim Yassahr
