Koa-Toa 'Merchant' creature model with a few animations.
At time of this release this model can be used as a merchant or trader.
Now Includes Tinting Options:
Skin = Creature Skin
Armor1 = Arm Bands
Armor2 = Loincloth
I still need a proper NWN2 normal map formula for z-mapper, as i'm unsure of many of the normal/tangent/bi-tangent values used by the NWN2 render engine. As a result, the normal map may seem a little strange but should be an easy fix as soon as i get a few of the proper settings.
I'm still learning my way around the 2DA files in NWN2 so you may need to tweak a few of them to get the most out of this creature. I'v included an 'install' txt document to help you get started.
The next release will be the rest of the animations needed for combat including support animations for a 'Whip' version of the Kuo-Toa.
Also a pincer staff model to augment the Whip.
This is a useable work in progress so please stay tuned for much more to come. I developed a custom pipeline composed of MEL scripts so that i could do the bulk of my work in Maya.
The pipeline is just now starting to pay off in terms of turn around speed.
ON A SIDE NOTE:
A good friend of mine, DCD, is hard at work on a "Crazed Kuo-Toa" that looks spot on with the image in MM-V...Look for that soon as well.
My next project will most likely be a "Giant Blind Cave Crab" to go with the Kuo-Toans.
This Kuo-Toa creature model is dedicated in loving memory to my brother.
Very nice. I like seeing some new creatures show up. I hope you put out some more. _________________________ Failure is not an option

Nice job, keep it up ! The nwn2 community really need new creatures and if they are all modded like this one, it's perfect. _________________________ Légendes du Luiren : Link

An extremely good likeness of a Kuo-Toa as I recall the original from the Fiend Folio and onwards. You sir, have made a solid first impression upon me. I look forward to seeing more of your work -- and have expectations that you will maintain a consistent high level of quality. dunniteowl _________________________ Be Excellent to Each Other!

This looks absolutely fantastic, as you note the addition of a tint map would really top things off. On a separate note I really hope your work links over with the attempt from Citadel as well as 3C to conform to certain standards that would allow an easy inclusion into a compiled/aggregated content pack. Would be fantastic if you continue with modelling these creatures to such detail and know that they will be easily compiled into a broader piece of community content that will allow easy propagation/appreciation of your work in NWN2 !! I reduced my vote from 10 for three reasons; Outstanding animations -0.5 Outstanding tint map -0.5 Uncertainty on ability to link into a broader community pack (see Citadel or 3C). -0.5 Will be happy to revise my vote up as you address each of these (which from your notes sounds only a matter of time :) )

Excellent work on the Kuo-Toa! I like what you've made so far! Can't wait for the animations, tinting and the Kuo-toa weapons models! >:D ~JayAre _________________________ You left the bodies and you only moved the HEADSTONES!!! YOU ONLY MOVED THE HEADSTONES!!!

Very nicely modeled, WKK. I just posted a few days ago wishing for a Kuo Toa, and bam! here we have one. You have already stated what this model is like, with the limited animations, and more excellence to come. So, with this is mind, I give this entry a 10. Yep, a Masterpiece, Genuinely Groundbreaking. Why? Because it looks as good as the creatures that shipped with the game. I sure wish you'd find time to post a tutorial on your methods for NWN modeling and animation. Thank you! regards, JFK _________________________ My other sword is a +5 Holy Avenger JFK Swimming Skinmesh Fish Link JFK Makeshift Weapons Link

Thank you all for the kind words and interest in the work i'm doing. It's my personal goal to 'blur' the line between community created content and the high bar set by the NWN2 OC creators. Responsible 'free use' of these properties within the NWN2 game is intended. Appropriate creation credit would indeed be nice. It would be a welcome gesture of basic respect to hear from those that have 'use' intentions other than the work's designed function. Repacking for profit or credit will be met with an outcry of 'Bogus' as will the use of these assets outside the realm of the NWN series of games. on a personal tip: I'm using this work, along with my previous motion picture work, as part of my resume for finding a job. i'm starting to get hungry... I'll continue creating monsters for NWN2 until i find employment and my time commitments change. Cheers, -dbs
