Description
Set of 10 scimitar Models:
Some of these models had Historical Inspiration (no direct models were literally copied or their textures used.) such as Italian Falchions,Cutlass,Shamshir, the Yataghan\kukhri hibrid, then i threw in a couple of «fantasy» models to the mix, because this is afterall a Fantasy game,i hope everyone finds at least *one* model combination out of the possible 1000 that they enjoy using.
Due credit out to Adonnay and Nurgoth, for helping me figure out a few things about Nwn2 modding, great creators, great guys.
Last, but not least,my bow to Nnw series of games, for the great game it is,and to it´s gamers and Modders, the people who have truly made it so.(oh,Atari and Obsidian, thanks for the first push.)
OK folks: version 1.1!
-All models are now Tintable!
-none of the Models override in-game content!
-There is now a Hakpack version available as well as just an Override dump.
Last but not least,im officially stepping into the ring with this pack,as i enter it in the Custom Content modelling competition under the Weapons category, may the gods see fit to have mercy on my rivals! (Just kidding, guys,Best of luck! :D)

Brilliant - although what isn't in comparison to the OC models? I see a couple of falchions in there (both the cleaver-like and tapered-tip variety), and a falcata/kopis.
And lay off the khopesh! It's a classic that never goes out of style. I even had one custom-made for me by Manning Imperial out of cast bronze a few years ago (although I used a Canaanite design rather than the Egyptian). It takes pride of place in my collection.

Awesome - seems I wasn't the only one to be really disappointed by the stock scimitars - very glad you could build such cracking alternatives - although I'll be needing those old khopeshes too where I'm building at the mo.........

Or rather, the default model isn't even a scimitar. I for one am curious to know just who was smoking what exactly when they decided to use the *khopesh* of all things as the main inspiration... damn thing had literally gone extinct over a millenia before true scimitars even developed, for pete's sake.
Ergo this is one very welcome and useful pack, even if it takes a bit of work to get any real benefit out of it.

Without these NWN2 scimitars are plain terrible.

The Scimitar models are a great addition to NWN2. I have been making use of them in my campaign Risen Hero. Thanks for putting these together.

Well, I've found MDB Cloner on the vault and now I'm happy using your scimitars in-game. So thanks a lot!

Those are Fantastic! An exquisite work of art.
I tried the Addonay overrides, but these looked too slim and fragile for my taste.
Yours are perfect though!
Perhaps I could persuade you to make an optional download to replace the ugly default models while playing community created modules and official campagins?
I did try to rename the filenames of 11 and 12 to numbers 01 and 02, but got the missing texture question mark box in-game. So I guess it's not that simple. Or is there an easy method to do it myself that I am overlooking?
If I were too choose which models should override the (sadly only 2) default ones I would pick 1 and 3 from your screenshot - looking from the left. 5 and 7 I like slightly less, but regardless pretty much all of these models look spelendid.
I would very much appreciate if you would consider making this an additional optional override replacement download.

Beautiful work....and you save me from having to model a scythe like sword myself with this pack. Thank you very much :)

These are wonderfully realistic models. I especially like the falchion models, though it would be great if you could provide scaled up versions to be used to replace the in-game models for the two-handed falchion. I think we can all agree that the in-game models for falchions are quite bad. If anyone knows how to use one of these models, scaled up to the appropriate size, to replace current falchion models, that would be great.

Agree with my fellow posters!
They're amazing! I will use them for sure in my modules!
That's how they should've been in the first way!
It'r great work! Kudos!

I am going to assume this isnt a attempt at trolling and a genuine complaint:
Ion Zin: 900+ people so far have managed to use the models widouth a problem, would it ever occur to you to ask maybe what are *you* doing wrong in the toolset instead? that big of an glitch simply would not happen to just one person.
what im guessing is,youre taking the pre-fab blueprints of the scimitars in the toolset and changing the appearance, placing them on the module then saving...check the properties of the laid out items in the module to see if the appearance properties *have indeed changed* before saving and exiting the toolset, after being placed,. that sometimes happened to me in the beginning.
Let me know if the issue persists, please.Oh and you could of asked first before the extreme vote.

these are great models, BUT they dont work beyond the toolset..i can see the models in the toolset..but as soon as i go to use them on my character..well, they just revert back to the regular old models..nice try though bub..

Yes I know about the other methods you mention of getting custom made content into the OC. But its not really what I had in mind. I was looking for something more permanent. Thanks for being straight with us however, and maybe in the future, when you have created more custom weaponry you might change youre mind and create a replacement pack similar to Addonays proportional version.
If not then no problem, anyways good luck with your future creations.

Shodan: I have 10 scimitar models, Obsidian provided us with 2 models...an override version would still leave you out of 8 of the models i made so you´d still have to build your own weapon appearances in the toolself anyway. Adonnay, crafty dog that he is,did an equal number of weapon models proportional to the existing number of original weapons so as to do a complete override.
No,as of right now,i dont have plans for a complete override version of any of my content.
As for using it yourself,if youre playing the main OC campaign, you can export with whatever gear you previously have created in the toolself and loaded into a custom module...or you can use to console to spawn items (check forums).
At the moment I am using Addonays weapons replacement pack, because it replaces all of the default swords in the game with ones that are more realistic and much cooler looking. The problem is that the tinting on the weapons later in the game becomes a bit too colourful.
I see your weapons pack doesnt replace the crappie default scimitars. I was wondering do you have any plans to release a replacement override version of the scimitar pack?
If not, is their anyway I can do that myself, maybe in the toolset so I can use your weapons with the official campaign?
