What secrets hide in the old abandoned lighthouse on the tiny island of Ender's Point?
This is a tiny module for a single character of level 3. Expect only between 10 and 20 minutes of gameplay, at most. It is the first module (out of about a million) that I have actually finished to the point of being somewhat worthy of release. I did it purely to get to know the new toolset, and to prove to myself that I could actually finish something, however small. So all things considered, don't expect anything big or fancy, but feel free to enjoy it for what it is.

Nice little module... thanks for sharing.

A neat little mod, which you've obviously put some thought into.

Neat little mod.

It started off pretty good, nice encounters in the lighthouse. Unfortunately it became a little shortsighted when my level 3 character met a creature that apparently could only be hit with a magical weapon. I didn't have one yet and none were to be found in the mod so I had to quit.

I limited play to recommended time. I usually prefer longer modules, but really enjoyed this one. Wondering if it could be incorporated into a larger project by someone as a side quest. I never could kill the beast. Never could go back home. I guess I own the lighthouse now LOL. Great first effort!

Interesting little module. Very tidy and everything worked fine. Certainly I could recommend this to anyone looking for a short module (about 30 minutes).

Played this one a long time ago, but never voted (I don't vote much, shame on me). I remember it being well done for a small module, and I rather enjoyed it. _________________________ Jezla

I rather liked this ... more than a sidequest, less than a mini-mod (a side-mod?). I would like to see more like this (and Dark and Stormy Knight, Ruins of the Sun God, and What's Bugging Costen), but acknowledge the fact that they aren't for everyone. If you need to advance a level or pick up some nice toy every time you enter a mod, you will not like this. If a mini-adventure with a couple hundred xp and some scrolls to use or sell is fine with you, than you may enjoy this.
The exterior is rather barren, but adequate. I try not to hold that against modmakers since it is more of an art than anything else.
The secret door was interesting but had me stumped for a moment. It was different enough that the mechanics threw me for a bit.
Not the most original of stories, but it worked well for a small side adventure, an in-character way to gain a little experience and treasure between full-length adventures. If such a mod interests you, this very much deserves a look.

Great little module. Hope you continue with module building!

A good short module.

I used this module as a little side-adventure for my character in between "The Zelbross Affair" and "The Subtlety of Thay." It worked out great. Quick, fun to play, a nice smattering of balanced loot, and a little bit of XP. Just what the doctor ordered... I might have to try making a small, nifty little module like this myself. :)
hmmhmm... i bashed the crystal, but nothing happened...
i looked at the toolset and figured out that the crystal's on death-script wasn't firing. so unfortunately i wasn't able to finish.
anyway... very nicely done! the atmosphere on the island was somehow brilliant. only the character, the water, the lighthouse and the story-background that something terrible must have happened. the rest of the module couldn't hold up this tension (due to its own shortness - the "mistery" behind the lighthouse is revealed much too soon), but i liked it anyway.
maybe i'll create a short module in horror-style too - your effort was very... inspiring... _________________________ A Bet, A Corpse A Corpse, A Vote
Yes, you should be able to simply bash the crystal, or blast it with spells. Destroying the crystal will make the shadow vulnerable. As Lariam mentions, there's another way, but it requires an item you may not have found, and it will result in that item being destroyed so just bashing the crystal would likely be the best option.
*End spoiler*
As for my next module, I haven't worked on it for a while and doubt I'll finish it. I may come back to it, or I may not.

@ Ryam...
**** SPOILERS ****
If I rightly recall, I found something useful upstairs. Could be that that requires some appropriate skills, though... But, if that is so, then there must be some alternative ways of dealing with it. Can it be...uh...destroyed? Well, I'm sure you've tried that. Anyway, perhaps you've found something useful, or can still go back and find it.
but i guess i'm dumb and have a question: how do i defeat the shadow-thingy? i know it has something to do with the crystal, but i'm somehow too dumb for figuring it out... _________________________ A Bet, A Corpse A Corpse, A Vote

Tried this mod on the strength of the comments on this page. I recommend it to anyone looking for a little side quest for their character.
No real bugs or errors, runs cleanly.
Simple, with just enough story to hold my attention.
High marks for your secret door implementation!
Thank-you UnseenOne, I hope we 'see' more of your work soon :-)

Amusing little adventure! Well put together. I happen to like adventures in which you arrive and leave by ship... it's made a few of my played modules flow together... although the captain keeps changing ;) Fun stuff!

Sometimes small mods like this can be a lot of fun, especially when there isn't really anything bad to say about them.
I'm really looking forward to your next module.

You'll find her skeleton on the floor of the room with all the coffins. If you check her skeleton, you'll find her diary which explains who she was and what she was doing there.

Short "filler" mod. Well balanced, maybe needs a little more "Story" to it. Like where did the visiting Girl go? Did she die due to a cave in, get locked up, and turned into a ghoul? etc.

Looking forward to playing The Crimson Mask. The Lighthouse showed great promise. :)
A 2-3 hours long mod set in Arabel would, naturally, be a most welcome contribution to the Weave, too. :) _________________________ Forgotten Realms Weave
I am working on my next module whenever I can find the time. It will be called 'The Crimson Mask', and will be set in and around Arabel in Cormyr. It will be longer than this one, but still not too long, perhaps around 2-3 hours, not quite sure. I have no idea how long it'll take to build, but keep an eye out for it :)
Blatob: I've tried to make the fights challenging, but it's difficult (or impossible) to find a balance for all classes and all players. Hope you still enjoyed it.

I know this is bordering funny, but having played some other mods I thought I'd revisit my vote again. :) _________________________ Forgotten Realms Weave

A very enjoyable mod. I really hope to see more from you in the future. I found the dungeon and the exterior area very well designed. My tiefling monk had no problems with the fights.
I think you have done well not to put the character motivation in the module. As Lariam said in his post, it makes sense to play an adventure this short as an episode in the life of your character, so it's fitting that you came up with your motivation, rather than be forced into one.
Ah, another thing. I hadn't a 3rd level character handy, so I used FRW character creator to create and equip my char. As I said I found the fights balanced, so I'll recommend it to people who need a level 3 char to play this ;)
Thanks for the good mod!

I've played earlier version with paladin PC. Fights were sometimes too tough.
