Tomoachan is an adaptation of C1: The Hidden Shrine of Tomoachan, a module that was originally used for the Official Advanced Dungeons & Dragons tournament at Origins 1979, and was the first in series of modules from TSR, the Competition Series. The module has been adapted and expanded from the original. If you are a min/max, power gamer, I'd recommend trying this mod on a hard difficulty setting or with no more than a 4th level character.
This adventure is ideal for single player. 4th or 5th level male characters are very strongly recommended. Humans, half-elfs, and elves are encouraged. There is a romance with a human woman featured prominently in the plot, thus the recommendation. There are a few references that indicate the player is definitely a man, but if you dont mind overlooking this and want to romance a human woman with a halfling woman, go to town!
I would recommend this module for teen or older due to content.
The module represents a good mix of role playing, hack and slash, and tricks and traps.
It is intended for 4th-6th level characters. Dialog and plot problems will occur in multiplayer but other game mechanics should be ok. I did not have the opportunity to run a multiplayer test.

Yeah, well I was freshly pissed off when I wrote my first comment--sorry. Regardless, I'm not happy with the unfair deathtrap on the boat--surrounded by 10 warriors just like that.

That was absolutely pathetic, you should be ashamed of yourself. How could this have such a high rating? Because there's a girl in a bikini? A perfectly good character was ruined when 20 villagers ambush you on a boat. That fight was impossible. Over a dozen of them were still alive by the time we were massacred. What the hell? I drank every potion as fast as I could to survive, but no one at level 4-5 could live given 20 tries. What a joke. I hope you're proud of that.

good, but short, mod.

Wow, that was a classic RPG experience... short, not too original, but excellent. It was fun :-)

cant rate any higher since it was so short, with the way story and gas was made you feel like you had to hurry which I loved, but therefore didn't even explore entire place plus it was just a quick mod. You should defintly keep making mods for games though and thank you for making this one gave me a relaxer after all the time spent trying and failing to get dreamcatcher shadowlords demon to work.... if can help get it to work please email [email protected]

A short but solid module. Never played the pnp version myself so not sure of how accurate the conversion is. I actually like the outdoor scenery more than the indoor parts. Also it could use a bit more lore to explain what the tomb was all about.
It's a few hours well spent, thanks Enoa4 for the good work.

Liked the innovative Aztec-ish setting, biggest plus in my opinion.
Playing with a female char was somewhat weird, especially the end. Yea yea I've been warned but I needed a mod for that char at that level. Such is the fate of short mods ;) Seemed like about 90% of the conversations were fitting for both genders. Sometimes my char got referred to as "man" and sometimes "woman"; and then there's the lil parasite in the end of course.
It's always a tad annoying when mods force long-lasting ramifications on the player story-wise. Makes it harder to play a bunch of small mods in a row.
Areas in general are well-designed. Lighting in the temple seemed a bit off occasionally. Too much flat ambient light I guess.
Anyway, it was fun and bug-free. The first part in which you are on the run was nice because it gave me an excuse not to explore every freaking stone ... which I usually do. And the second part ... well, who doesn't like exploring old abandoned temples full of traps, treasure and monsters.

A fun conversion of the TSR module, except the forced relationship at the beginning. Really like the look of the characters. _________________________ The road to Ravenloft is paved with good intentions.

It's was alright for me...played Darkwaters and my char from that was lvl 10 so I had to work ith that....yeah...lv 10 ighter with greater cleave sorta murdered everything...lol, so that probably spoiled it a bit :D lol, wasn't expecting the mod to start out sleeping with some woman and falling in love with her in less than a day...so the romance didn't really appeal to me :) On the other hand...I really enjoyed the level layout...it reminded me a bit of darkwaters 1 where you're going through multiple levels of some sort of structure :)
My summary:
Combat - Sorta my fault using a lvl 10 char lol
Story - Well...I;m not the one for jumping right into things, I like to have some background, but it was decnt :)
Bugs - No bugs at all or me except sometimes a large lag spike would come from nowhere lol
Level Layout - Really nice, kept me thinking if something wasgonna come alive all of a sudden, like the room full o statues, was expecting something there :D
Overall - 7/10, not entirely my taste..but was worth my 2 hours, keep up the good work :D

Very nice work. I'm not usually one for dungeon crawls, but there were enough interesting elements to keep me going. Though I would have liked to see more once I was out of the dungeon. _________________________ One feels inclined to say that the idea that man should be "happy" is not included in the plan of "creation". - Sigmund Freud

Pretty good mod. Interesting dungeon, neat romance based plot (very full and, unlike most romances in these mods, grants closure).
The only thing I can really critique is the writing. I cannot stress enough how much the grammar and, most of all, punctuation needs to be worked on. There are many, many lines that go without any punctuation at all, and others that go along the lines of
"What has happened this room is filled with poison gas" and such. Add commas and periods, and replace periods with question marks when the statements are questions and exclamation points when they are exclamations. As it is, the writing really, REALLY brings down the quality of the mod. _________________________ BEEP!
Hey, this is Angel of Nessus. Not at the (COMMUNICATION DEVICE) right now; leave a message and go away. I probably won't answer, but I'll let you think I just didn't get the message. Oh, and if you're who I think you are, I have three things to say to you:
1. <I didn't do it>,
2. <Nobody saw me do it>, and
3. <You can't prove anything>.
You can leave a name or number, but like I said it probably won't do much good.
You can go now.
BEEP!
I had the same problem as Friar and it was because when I extracted the files in the HAK folder it actually created another sub-folder called HAK. Once I moved the files into the NWN2\HAK folder (and out of the NWN2\HAK\HAK folder) it worked fine, I had to do that also for the music files which had originally been extracted to NWN2\Music\Music.
Very interested in playing this. However, I'm told I have a hak file missing and that I should check my notes. I've looked for the "notes" but all I could find were "Patch_notes." I'm really interested in the Mazticas sense playing NWN Pirates of the Sword Coast. I'd really like to play your module as well. I usually don't download something unless it looks like something I could rate a 10. Any tips?
Glad you enjoyed the module. There should have been something about the gas when you entered the shrine. It sounds like a script failed. I haven't played this (or NWN2) for a while, perhaps a recent patch broke something.

Its been a long, long time since I played the PNP version of this adventure - can't remember much about it except the overall feel, which this captures in spadefuls. Love the outdoor sections in the beginning - they look fantastic & really show what NWN2 is capable of compared to NWN1. The interior was a lot of fun too - lots of nice encounters & interesting areas - can see how it got the conversion award.
Multi-player - we played the adventure with 2 female characters (made some of the NPC conversations a little 'odd', lucky we're free swinging ladies!). Although the mod's not specifically designed for multi-player, we had no obvious problems & definitely no show stoppers.
***Possible spoiler***
Not sure what was going on with the poison gas - the first my party heard of it was the large room virtually at the end where we saw a message saying the air was clearer. Maybe it was because we had a ring of regeneration each?
Overall - a great adventure - well recommended. _________________________ "Cor- a Beholder, Just think of the XP!"; Dave the Barbarian in the Demonweb pits, long ago.
