Winds of Change is a story set in the Warhammer world. For most of the first module you will be a neutral character, but in the possible later modules your true path will be revealed.
You travel through the darker side of the Empire in this first module. Friendly faces are far and few and you have a feeling that someone or something is pulling your strings, making you walk a path you rather wouldn't be walking.
It's a dark, grim world and you aren't there to make it any brighter.
There aren't too many battles, but the ones that you do run into are planned to be challenging and some might even be hard depending what race/class combination you play. Most of the experience you get comes from advancing the story and getting those secret dialogue options plus certain other things...so the battles are there to simply entertain you, although I am sure most of them will be rewarding in more ways than one.
I wanted to make a module I would personally enjoy playing and I am pleased with the results. I had fun both creating and playtesting this module, despite my lack of experience with the toolset.
Update!
Fixed few typos and made the Count's Wine Cellar battle slightly easier and rebalanced the battle with Hasuth somewhat as well.
Wasn't familiar with the Warhammer universe before, but I still think this module transfers this setting into NWN quite well - at least I felt a strong Michael Moorcock influence here, before even knowing how much Warhammer owes to Moorcock. It's always good to have more non-conventional modules around, and found a lot of inspired moments too - especially the cutscenes and the ruined tower: a canonic dark fantasy episodes, quite well done. Unfortunately, it seems that the author here falls into a well-known "sequel" trap. Yes, it's very important that the series continue, but it's equally important to polish its first part, 'cause it's the first part that must intrigue the player, and it's painful to see a good series that ARE making better with every episode - but the first one remains almost as unpolished and raw as it was after initial release. It may seriously undermine the download rate of later episodes. And here, IMHO, many things could be easily improved. Design/plot problems: 1. Too generous exp rewards, especially in the beginning. It's just unrealistic - how could a hero learn so fast? Oh yes, maybe he just remembers his forgotten skills, but if it's so, it should be mentioned in the mod. I'm not the first one mentioning this problem, but I think it could be easily fixed just by a more generous autolevelling of a PC at the start of the mod. 2. No readme, and the short text on the module page never mentions if it's a module for starting character or for a 2nd lvl char or for a 2-10 lvl char and if so, what equipment could be allowed, which skills are useful etc. I'm not a fun of long readme myself, but this info is vital to start the module - otherwise it's very unclear what were the author's intentions. 3. The city was just a sequence of linear quests, and during your first runthrough, no side-quests, no extended dialogs, just one-liners. It's unrealistic: not a living city, just a scenery for a main plotline. A few more talkative characters would be great just to break this impression. Bugs: 1. Infinite exp bug: you gain 1000 exp every time you read a diary in Hasuth's tower. 2. It's possible just to run from the Wine cellar and continue the main plotline. Was it intended? What was a sense of so-well-prepared test, than? To check if PC has enough brains just to run away? 3. Volgar's letter has a description of an empty scroll. 4. A few minor visual problems with Slaag Hills Camp design: brazier floating in the air; south and north parts of the area are divided by clearly visible horizontal line between textures. Typos: 1. Dwarf in pub: "arfter" -> "after" 2. Lost ogre dialog, Milecen's response: "I'll just insult everyone incase". "incase" -> "in case" 3. Hasuth: "We fulfil the last part". "fulfil" -> "fulfill" But anyway, thanks for creating this mod: finally the dark gods of Warhammer have found their way into NWN2. I just hope it won't be their one and only visit.

Well, my progress with the second module slowed down when I lost my computer and it took quite a while to recover from that. Let's see if I can get back on the right track again. Okgenuine, I am not really sure what the problem could be, as no one else seems to have encountered that problem. I wish I could help.

I just downloaded this yesterday, and when I go up to the first 2 characters, they don't say anything. I tried 2 different leveled characters in case there was a catch, but nothing happened.

A truly great Module. Certainly an entire campaign built on this will be a must have addon for NWN2. People have already remarked about the hard difficulty.. and yes, there were a few reloads, but I also must needs point out that you get very little, if any, xp for killing, so pick your battles when you can. Despite the description, I was able to role play a good character most of the way (even though I'm intended to be a pawn). The only dialogue where it fails is when you meet the witch at the tower. The only dialogue option is "You meet your death here, witch" or some such. The outcome doesn't matter since she attacks you, but the dialogue didn't fit with the rest of my options.

She's worth waiting. It will be the same old her, but with slight changes as the story continues. I should have a somewhat playable version of Winds of Change 2 in my hands sometime soon and in the end it will be at least twice as large as the first one was, perhaps even three times larger on every aspect.

Lot of feedback while I was gone. Some good, some bad, but it's all welcome. One good thing about it all is that everyone seem to bring up the same issues, so in some twisted way that will make my job easier. If everyone complained about different things that would make creating the second module lot harder. :) Story battles in the next module will be easier, challenging still but I do not want anyone to have to try a battle 20 times. But for those who enjoy the insanely difficult battles I have been creating several optional bosses and encounters. The module itself is starting to shape up nicely. Most of the areas are more or less done, now I just need to put more work into the story, quests and all the dialogues. That's a lot of work.

It was quite refreshing for change to adventure in a world where good people don't exsist. Although the plot in this first part was basicly going from point A to point B it managed to keep me interested. There were however some insanely hard battles. Especially the last battle which I stopped trying after 15 tries and ran to the exit. _________________________ A good module author is PAG: Patient, Ambitious and Gutsy.

Great module. The world of Warhammer is perfectly rendered. The mood is perfect and the NPCs have good conversations. The pace is too fast for my taste though. Too many XP for two little acts. And the story seems speeded all the time. However, I wait for the sequel.

I don't know realy how to rate this module. The atmosphere was great, different then most mods I played, dark, more realistic. It reminds me of 16th century Europe. There is not much combat, but it is too hard. First two fights were bearable (in the woods, and golem/unded). Later, it just became rediculous. After five reloads (with the party wiped out every time) I had to use dm_god command. It happens almost every time - wizard in the tower, elf druid on the hill, barbarians in the mines. And after all that fuss, I get 7 xp for the oponent who killed my PC five times in the row. Its just not funny.
