Winds of Change is a story set in the Warhammer world. For most of the first module you will be a neutral character, but in the possible later modules your true path will be revealed.
You travel through the darker side of the Empire in this first module. Friendly faces are far and few and you have a feeling that someone or something is pulling your strings, making you walk a path you rather wouldn't be walking.
It's a dark, grim world and you aren't there to make it any brighter.
There aren't too many battles, but the ones that you do run into are planned to be challenging and some might even be hard depending what race/class combination you play. Most of the experience you get comes from advancing the story and getting those secret dialogue options plus certain other things...so the battles are there to simply entertain you, although I am sure most of them will be rewarding in more ways than one.
I wanted to make a module I would personally enjoy playing and I am pleased with the results. I had fun both creating and playtesting this module, despite my lack of experience with the toolset.
Update!
Fixed few typos and made the Count's Wine Cellar battle slightly easier and rebalanced the battle with Hasuth somewhat as well.
Hi, I just finished playing this and I quite enjoyed it! I'm not very familiar with the Warhammer universe, but I was able to get into the mod no problem. There were books and stuff that explained certain things, and the main story was still easy to follow even for the uninitiated so to speak. The strongest point in this mod for me was the atmosphere. Area creation was generally good, but I especially liked how gloomy everything looked (I assume a lot of it is down to lighting?). I tend to favour mods and games that have a heavier, and generally unpleasant atmosphere and this mod provided that. Dialogue was generally well written as well, and I liked the Rogue companion (name escapes me). At first, I thought she was only going to annoy me, but she insulted her way to my heart I suppose. She was fun to have along! Combat was really tough, but really fun as well. And let me tell how happy I am that you seem to design encounters to be memorable though not so many numerically. And not have endless waves of enemies that are not that tough anyways, it's a design decision I really favour in RPGs. As for the criticism, well, I guess you've seen it already and you seem to have acknowledged it. The plot moves along in a really linear fashion with no sidestuff, nor any alternative ways to go about things. Dialogue choices are limited, though I do like the skill checks that were involved, and that you chose to reward the players with those skills. I'm concerned however that the huge xp rewards we're talking about could potentially be unbalancing if the mod becomes a longer series. Also, making some dialogues for NPCs around town could really flesh out the mod, and could be an excellent way of providing some info and lore about the world the game takes place in. As well as giving an opportunity for the player to develop his/her character. From your comments, you seem to be aiming for most things I personally would like to see in the sequel, so I can't really complain can I? :) Really enjoyed it, and looking forward to the next chapter. Thanks for uploading it!

Great server! I loved playing it, specially since i love the warhammer world. First i want to thank you for this server and i'm looking forward to the second one. The battles were hard but fun. The only thing that I thought was annoying was that everyone just had one line they said when you talked to them (clicked on them). You could add a few other things that they could say to make it all a litle more living. Away from that, great work! _________________________ Good things DO happen to bad people!

Elly - I really like the module so far, especially the storyline and the companion dialogs. MINOR SPOILERS: But I think the battle in the wine cellar is impossibly hard even after you changed it. Specifically, after trying various things and getting killed about 10 times, I used the dm_god command to make my 7th level tiefling rogue immortal. After his companion and other allies dropped like flies I just let him fight it out with one weapon, his best attack bonus (+9). It took 40 MINUTES for him to defeat that bad guys! That is basically 400 attacks at 1 every 6 seconds. He probably would have taken 1000s fo points of damage by that time if he wasn't immortal. So either I missed something really powerful or some other trick along the way to make the battle easier, or it is way too hard for a normal character. I did find it is possible to run away from the battle and go back upstairs, and it does not seem to effect the journal entry - is that a legitimate way to play it or will that break a future story line? Maybe some of the loot is critical to the story? _________________________ Ninja School -- a short NWN training and adventure module for young players. Lot of feedback and votes while I've been gone. Great to see! Winds of Change 2 is coming along just nicely, even if bit slowly. Trying to build even a small part of Altdorf and another city that will remain secret for now is lot of work. Not to mention making them actually seem like places where people live. Well, no matter, it will all get done and I am really with what I have done so far, it all looks and feels great.

It's a compressed file, just like .zip or .rar. Download the program 7zip, it's a very good archive manager where this format has its origin. _________________________ "Duty is everything - the greatest of joys, the deepest of sorrows..." - Aribeth de Tylmarande NWN2 Romance Module List Thread for NWN2 Romance Module List

I'd like to try this but I have problems to get this module to work. What should I do with that 7z-file? _________________________ A good module author is PAG: Patient, Ambitious and Gutsy.

I don't know anything about the setting, and I usually hate playing evilish characters, but wow! This was great. Great atmosphere and some cool items. Thanks!

What's best about this mod is the battles! I don't think I've ever been challenged like this in NWN2! (well, Night Howls was very hard too with a weak character). But I really dislike how the EXP is handled. (Almost) nothing for kill, 1000's for skill use... bleh. Take a hint from Maerduin! But anyway, the plot and dialogue were great (no too much RP though) even if I know nothing about Warhammer.
