The combat with trolls is impossible with a 1st level character. After this, i had'nt find a exit from the living room, so i quitted. A true shame, this is the only module designed for a 1st level drow from the Underdark.

Game works fine until i enter the ruins. I can switch between my character and Elereen, but i cant move my character or Elereen. I cant turn the camera either i can just zoom in and out. Any way of fixing this?

I think this module has an interesting premise, but whenever I try to play it I get as far as entering the ruins and then I get stuck and can't do anything; according to the menu I have a cutscene playing but I can't see anything going on.

This is the old version of Deephalls. If I'll add a new one - I'll have to rebuild most of the underground keep, which is not an easy task to say the least.

Barefoot: I had a similar problem. First off you don't need the override files. You'll only need them if you actualy want to build modules using the tiles in the toolset. You only need the hack. Unfortunately this module uses a version of the hack that I've never seen elsewhere so you'll need the default version and the version from this page as well (the one that says hak file underneath it).

Even then there is an area with a lot of black walls & floors so you can only see furniture and placables. There's even an invisible door in that area too :(.

traid to play again, with a fighter and still cant kill the dam troll alas, my fo... sword was smelted in the midle of batle (intresting idead , but still very impossible)

I have a problem. In the "Deep Halls" hak folder are several other files; .2da and .bmp. I put the hak in the NWN2 hak folder but didn't do anything with the others.
I manged to get down in the ruin but now on the 3rd (I think) level there is a lot of the scenery missing and it has become impossible to find my way around.
The only .2da file I could find in NWN2 was in another campaign folder. Should these be in a "Deep Halls campaign folder and if not where? Thanks.

good history and good backgroud but wen you enter in the first level on the ruins you make a impossible chalenge for a carater who made wizard/sorc. a battle with 2 troll with only one level wiz drow and a sorc level 3 ho doens cast a single spell, at lest for me.

The tapestry won't recognise my rogue. I checked in the toolset and it seems to use a script that does not exist. With MOTB there is no gc_check_class script but there is a gc_check_class_level script (that checks how many levels you have in a class so it could easily be set to 1).

I think that script could be causing a lot of the problems.

Erm, there's no module. Only the hak pack now. I'm looking forwards to this update when it arrives. I found it very challenging as a thief with all those skeletons. The only blunt weapon available was the warhammer so I couldn't use that. It made them practicaly immune to our damage :(.

The Black Smoke: In the lava level there's a square black pit with smoke rising out of it. I think that's what he meant. You can't go through it. You have to walk around it (sometimes it's a bit tight on the corners near the stairs).

Erk, I forgot to add that some other lower level spells (such as the 2nd level spell Resist Elements) don't offer quite so much protection but they do stay for the full duration. It's the higher level ones that tend to run out faster (such as Stoneskin) with layers instead of a smaller, mpore constant bonus.

Vidal & Rebu:

Protection from Elements (the spell) does last for hours as default. However it absorbs damage. Once it's absorbed too much damage the spell ends early. Once you've "absorbed" enough fire damage the spell ends and you start getting hurt again.

If you're speed is decreased in any way (like being in stealth mode or overburdened) then the spell could easily wear out before you've even crossed the bridge.

If I remember well, some missed when Elereen was trapped, and she asked me to find the artifact, then when I found that control stuff ( in the room with the tapestry and the portal, so there I just randomly clicked XD ) and in the very end.

Thanks for helping me out... that particular lever had no text descriptions (they probably were in Russian and the engine couldn't generate them). So I thought it was part of an unfinished sidequest... my mistake.

Now, as I told your avatar in the mod... it is truly a shame. I really wish I could see the whole story... or at least a little more of it. It ended just like the first version... and I have to admit it is frustrating, but as you said, it is a conclusion of sorts... they did get what they wanted and so on... a short dungeon crawl it is then, but really, it could have been something much more interesting.
It's still something I would recommend to anyone, though... a short, entertaining adventure with nice characters and an intriguing idea: the rare opportunity to play as one of the favorite races of D & D lore... but to do it as a simple group of adventurers, not as evil monsters or great heroes.
A real pity we don't get to follow their exploits in that Drow city they mention in the end... I would have liked to know both Elereen and M'reen a little more.

Well, uninstalled motb, but the problem was still there... Anyway, found a different way to get out of the keep ( I hardly give up), so I finished the mod ^.^ I liked it very much =) but some of the dialouges won't show up, I guess it's because of the translation.

That's pretty strange because while I was testing it the spell wouldn't wear off for hours.

But there's 2 ways of solving this problem:

1) in the dinnig-room there is a secret door which opened after Elereen was traped. Now it is open. There you'll find a lever to release water from reservoir onto the fire.

2)If your character have some persuation skills - try to convince M'reen to help you. Then when you return to the keep he will ask you to go straight to Elereen.

As for the final version of the mod - I do have a lot of dialogues and script already writen, but considering all the time and efforts it took me to complete this small demo - it is very unlikely I will be able to complete it myself.

If there will be a lot of people demanding the continuation of this story - I may write a short fiction about all of the characters using the dialogues I already wrote for the mod...

I played the NWN demo and found it a great promise... finally a drow story in which you could play as one of them, but not the genocidal Lolth worshipers and neither a renegade ranger.
Instead, in Scoundrels of the Underdark the idea was to play as a common drow in a simple raiding party that wasn't even coming from some of the Great Houses.
It was a nice idea and a good starting point. It was also only a demo... and it took some time to get this new NWN2 version... and it seems it won't be finished... what a shame!
Even in this unfinished state it is an excellent mod. The characters are very well done, with interesting dialogues and funny remarks... all perfectly matched to the drow way of thinking, though they're not typical of their race.
The female is not a priestesses, but a mysterious (and quite uncommon) sorcerer... I am sure there would be some nice developments in store for her... if the mod could be completed.
The areas are also very good... and the fights have a puzzle feeling to them, thanks to the need to discover a way do defeat the enemies in certain occasions.
But I won't be able to vote yet... unfortunately it seems I'm stuck in a no go situation and without a previous save to reload.

I already have the artifact, but now I can't pass the lava pit... the protection wears off before I reach the end and my character dies.
This is part of the problems with the mod... as ploedminka has pointed out, some things look rather strange (like the trolls) or not appropriate to a low level drow with just a few hitpoints between success and oblivion.
I played with a fighter and will try again with a rogue and the ability to use magic items... perhaps then I could cast a protection spell on my character, otherwise the bridge will remain a roadblock.

Still, I would love to see this one finished... it might even become a Hall of Fame Mod.

There is another way to get out of the temple. There is a coridor in the room with the altar which leads to the door and ladders up.

As for the problems with portal and tapesty - I guess it's because of the MotB installed. None of the people who played plain NWN2 experienced those problems.

If you really eager to finish the mod - maybe you could temporary uninstall MotB?

Hey there! Nice mod, I like it, but I have a "minor" problem. I can't get out of the keep.
I'm a wizard, but when I try the portal it just says that "you get some sound knowledge on the magical blablabla". I even deleveled my char, and tried as a rogue ( to try the tapestry) but neither did that work. And I can't get out the route I came down, because there's a big-ass boulder in front of the door, and I can't pass it. I'm running MotB, and patch 1.11 btw.
Is there any way to solve this problem? Because I really liked the mod so far, and I wanna play it through...

Black fog? It's the fog on the first level of the keep, right? The one golem should disarm? If it is than I have no idea how did remained... it should be gone, and gone forever :)

I can't see a reason why it would remain or how you could enter the lowest level of the keep without removing it. So I guess it is some new weird bug...

About the tapesty - it's a way to leave the keep if you are a thief (the mage may use the portal).

After Elereen was trapped in the basement, I'm to get out and go to the lodge, but I can't pass through the black smoke (I've tried 6 ou 7 time). I also tried to find out what is behind the tapestry, but, maybe because I'm just à common drow fighter, nothing happens. So have I missed something or should I tried passed through the black smoke agian, and again and again and again... Thanks for helping me !
