Description
This module has respawning encounters and containers, so each adventure can be replayed several times. It was the beginning of a permanent world, but I am uploading it now to get constructive criticism and suggestions and maybe a little scripting help from the community. In any case it should be a fun way to level up your characters. There are 6 companions available for single player and 5 may be utilized at a time.
Probably the maximum level you should play for now is 8. There are stores in Knights Landing that sell almost every level of weapon, magic and armor. The Temple sells healing potions and most clerical scrolls. Eventually I plan to add more areas, which should work well for characters of level 8 or higher. Also formal quests and journaling is in the planning stage, but will likely be added soon.
*******Important- Because this module zipped was over 25MB I had to submit the module and 2 erf files. Place them in your module folder then open the toolset and import PONB1erf and PONB2erf into your module and the module will then be complete. Any problems E-Mail me at [email protected]. I don't promise I can help you, but I will try.
02/23/08 Added a new quest. Letus Mansion. Just download the updated Pearls of North Beach File, re-import the PONBerfs 1 & 2 and the new adventure will be added. This is a beta so please let me know of any bugs.
Thanks.
******Important: To update your module download Pearls 2. You will not have to redownload the erfs, they are unchanged, but you will have to reimport them thru the toolset after you unzip the modules to the modules file. When unzipping to the module file go ahead and overwrite your old mod file.
02/24/08: Fixed locked door on Letus' Estate. If your copy of mod the estate door wont open you must redownload Pearls 2 and then once again overwrite Pearls of NB, then import the 2 ERFs sorry. Should have playtested from outside the mansion.
02/24/08 Patch to make the estate quest work properly. Download then unzip to erf then import into your module.
Credits: Thanks to Waleswizard for the city area, north beach, southern farms and old burial grounds. Thanks to Jezla9 for woodland trail.

Not bad, one of this authors better submissions. Looks like he used a lot of nice prefabs or some reworked campaign exteriors (and interiors).
Still lots of polish issues as usual like ladies that tell you in a deep base that "It's been a long day I could use a drink." etc. All kinds of imbalanced stuff at the stores and little in the way of roleplay. For a hack and slash it wasn't too bad. The party he offers works really well.
Also some journal entries don't complete. One of the quest items seemed to be in the wrong crypt according to the journal entry. It took me about 12 hours to complete it. I also found penelope's thingy in two locations.
I finished at level eleven. This is a good mod for practicing Magic Users because he offers a number of very good melee fighters that can give you lots of time to cast your spells and whatnot. Raise Deads and Ressurection work on you and your NPC's but only needed for you if you miss the respawn screen (which happned once).
Bottom line: A good mod to play test a character (to 10 -12) without using a boring trainer offering good enough exterior and interior areas to develop your PC in melee. Be sure to throw in some skill points toward the word skills though they are not used in this mod at all if that's your aim.

Couldn't find any trolls though or enter the catacombs. Still good though, I definitely like modules where I don't have to download a lot of extras that end up crashing the game anyway
Still can not enter N crypt, there is a transition point ? that says "trap" can not enter that, found south beach catacombs transition area but can not enter that, abandoned estate only 7th lvl.
I hope this is not the case but do you have to kill beetles, ghouls etc again to reach high enough levels to enter N crypt or other unreachable areas.
2 Could not enter E or N Crypt. Did the zomb/skel/mummy and ghoul/ghast (ruddy hard the latter)
3 At 5th lvl no idea what to do next so went north and took on sea trolls.Yep they were tough especially in lair where wiz ran out of melf acid arrows, acid splash and flame arrows with more trolls.
Had to do a bit of gamesmanship to survive. OK I could have ran out, rested and gone back in. But saved a game when all were down and reloaded, so all companions were on 1 hit point. I then had to heal thief up, because he was wearing monk gloves with acid damage.
BUT another thing I bought an orb of elemental command in magic users shop. It enabled you to use elemental swarm once per day and cost 1 GP.
Just wondering who we need to speak to to pick up other sub quests and hopefully you'll receive some support for journal entries.
Well I followed your instructions but I must be doing something wrong, to follow.
Started off with the rg, human ftr, wiz and my rgr (cleric to be). I still could not remember where the warehouse was, so we went a wandering. And then out of nowhere about 6 to 8 thugs appeared, sneak attcks here and there, none of us had CLW potions, (I wanted to find the warehouse and see if I could enter) I ran off but everybody else was killed very quickly sneak attacks can do that. Anyway I wsa being hotly pursued by a thug and I only had about 2 hit points left, when guardsman killed hi with one blow.
Are you sure about starting on level 1, playing hardcore.
So I legged it to the temple, before I entered (stupidly as if I had entered my 3 companions would have returned) I decided to change party roster and inc paladin and cleric instead of rg and wiz. The latter so I could get some healing. I then realised that if I had just gone straight into temple, the three dead characters would have returned.
Anyway into temple, tha worked OK (I checked part roster and wiz and rogue not on there anymore). As I leave the temple, everything goes grey, only the cleric is visible (top right hand of screen), the other 3 characters inc myself are these shadow figures. That's it.
Sorry about the long winded description. Back to I have done something wrong. Went to the tollset followed your instructions and clicked on each of the erfs.
The thing is how do you know they will be imported to your module. As I mentioned before I think you have to expalin in dummy terms for me.
Better still is to make them haks. I thought you had mentioned that that was something you were going to do
Open your toolset. Pull down the File Menu. Find Import, click on it. Window will open, navigate to your erf folder or your module folder depending on where you put the erf then click on the erf and it should import into the module. Should you need more info e-mail me at [email protected] and I will attempt to help. Good luck and I hope you enjoy the module.
Could you or somebody else expalin in simple terms
1 Download erf files to ? folder. I had noticed in NWN1 there was an erf folder. So i created one for NWN2, downloaded your erf folders but still could not enter warehouse.
2 You mention that you have to place erf files into module folder. Then enter toolset and import your erf files to modules folder.
I have looked at toolset, may as well had a look at an alien language and no idea.
How do you do this ie open toolset and import etc. again in "dummy terms".
Any luck with the hak file. I would imagine that you have spoken to Bioware about this for help?
Hopefully you've had a chance to play a few games. Recommendations are Harp & Chrysanthenum, Subtlety of Thay, Red Hand of Doom, Tears of Ilmarid and Moonshadows.
If you are looking for low level mods ie beginning at lvl 1. ENOA4's Keep on the Borderlands and The Zelbross Affair.

I m waiting for the hak file too because I wasn't able to play Heroes of midpoint 5 with the erf file. Could you please do a hak with Heroes of midpoint 5 ? That would be great.

An interesting mod. A little longer than other offers by this author. Minimal story, no real character interactions. As advertised it is a hack and slash, not much more. It was fun to butcher the bad guys and the areas are pretty good. Good for an hour of CRPGing. _________________________ Failure is not an option
Roland, if you've figured out how to work the toolset, an FTP program is a piece of cake.
Google SmartFTP, and download that, it's free.
Once you have it installed, go to File>New Remote Browser
Then fill in the fields with the appropriate entries that Maximus or QSW or whoever you ask gives you. You only need to do this once, it will remember the location and password and all that next time you open the program.
Go to Commands>Upload>Direct>Select and find the files on your hard drive and upload things.
Ok the problem with the mansion door should have been cleared with my latest update, which means you will have to download the module again to correct it. I am working on the other things you mentioned, but have not been able to solve them all yet. Watch for new update soon, please.

Found several bugs so far.
Was unable to open the door too the Mansion that Letus wanted me to "Scourgify". Some problems with Norin's Dialog and some chests don't seem to be responding. Will vote when this is more bug free. But I like the respawning battles.
Probably most fun to start at first level. The armor for the mage is to make things a little more fair for the magic users. Also you will find some interesting mage armor in the cabinet in your room in the inn if you haven't found it already.
You can unzip the erf files to any folder that you can locate, but you must enter the toolset and import them to the module. Then you will be able to get into the warehouse. Hope this helps.
I am not 100% what to do with erf files. I do not have a erf folder (should I create one?) and so placed them in modiules folder.
Still no idea what level to start on but having noticed the wizard has +5 Armour and as my character was a 1st level noticed that equipment in smithy was way over my budget (may have to come to you for a loan). Also on first quest the warehouse dialogue from owner was about to do it or already done and I could not even enter warehouse, tried clicking on it no go.
I've been playing your mod and have had a lot of fun smashing evil-doers.
I'll post a vote when I've finished.
I like the original names you've given the people around town. _________________________ Help is good when asked for,
Better when needed.
Thanks for asking. Any alginment is playable but prabably, for now nuetral to good fits best. Monks will have a hard time, at least for now, but mages and clerics should work well. Eventually some roleplay will be involved and even now the appraisal skill is somewhat important. Monsters will not level up to the characters abilities, but may in future updates. I am a 70 year old retired banker and psychologist who loves games, so I have lots of time to work on these. I am technologically challenged, however, and am slow to learn the tricks of the toolset and scripting. But I am having fun and hope I am giving some of the Hack'n'Slash fans some fun too.
