Installation: The "Installation Guide.txt" can be found in the Legacy of the Dragon Package which explains the installation in detail. (The installation only requires copy/paste of module data, no setup.exe needs to be run)
Intro:
Arriving in Port Trinad on a hijacked ship is bad enough, but something in this small port town is not as it should be. Prepare yourself to uncover secrets, explore hostile territories and fight for the greater good or simply for your own glory.
Campaign features:
type: single player
playtime: 6 to 9 hours
level: 1 to 7
companions: fighter/thief, wizard, bard
Hints:
Skills: Most of the skills are used here and there in conversations except for crafting skills. Appraise lets you haggle for free items at shops so it might be a good choice.
Encounters: Not every creature can be beaten by ordinary weapons. If a creature proves resistant, try something else.
Companions: Speak with them often (in each area) to find out more about them. If they don't have anything more to say you will know. Whatever you tell your companions may have consequences, so be aware on how you treat them.
Difficulty: As this is a low level module starting with a fighter or similar class will ease the difficulty while choosing a class relying on magic will give you a harder time.

After the battle in the town i'm stuck. I have collected my companions, spoke to everyone including the mayor.. but no matter what I ask him it won't let me leave the town saying 'go speak to the mayor' What do I do? I've spoken to the mayor 10 times and gone through all his conversation strings.

I loved this! It was very atmospheric. I really felt immersed at times.
The only things stopping it getting a perfect vote are the balance issues (especially early in the game, the enemies are too strong and the party is frankly under equipped with no ways to get level appropriate gear) and the sometimes jarring design on the zones (having all enemies spawned just left me frustrated as my companions turned after finishing one fight to shoot bolts or run off at something at the edge of their vision no matter what I set the behavior to, the module needed to use ranged spawning.)
Howdy, I have just started this module, and while I have really been enjoying it, it seems I've discovered a bug. I've completed the first little spate of quests in Trinad, but when I tried to leave I find myself unable to travel. The mage companion offered to join me in a cutscene when I clicked on the world transition at the edge of town, and now clicking on the transition won't bring up any travel options. I'd appreciate some help as I'd really love to finish your module!

Much of this is very good but the enemies are way too strong, especially since none of your companions has any melee ability. Thus, you get swarmed and they just get killed. I never like the free levelling XP in any adventure as well.

A very good odule. Done nicely and without any major flaws. Graphics and especially the BPCs were done with great detail. The story flowed smoothly and it was nice to have a module with some character developement for a change. This should zhave a sequel.
My only criticism cocners Sheilas death. I didn't get it. Her story was never really explained and the constant appearance of malicious elves on a killing spree made no real sense.
Otherwise, very well done.

Very nice mod. The best part is the combat, which is challenging and interesting with varying fights, except for the very beginning which suffers from the same things all very low level combat does (the dice really do most of the fighting). Once you're outta the town at level 3+ with all the companions it's great. If I don't have to reload at least a few times I consider that a failure in difficulty, and I certainly did some of that, though I was playing on very difficult (which is what I always start mods with) so newer players shouldn't be too worried.
I mostly liked the companions and story as well. I guess the biggest issue was lots of grammar errors and there's really little choise a lot of the time in conversations. Some of the conversation choises, especially towards the end, are pretty much written for good characters only. I don't mind a module settings limitations to alignment etc. but there was no mention of that, in fact when you describe this as "fight for the greater good or simply for your own glory" that somewhat implies all alignments are supported.
Overall a decent story and all that, very good on the combat side, would definitely play a sequel.

good module, nice story!

A very nice short adventure... a little linear, but interesting and fun to play. A few difficult battles, one unnecessary death (the way Sheila dies... her story is not really explained and the she's killed regardless of what player does... she wasn't my choice as love interest, but still...)
Anyway - great module.
I downloaded the module from the Vault and began playing and I have to say it is a fun and well-made adventure. I was really enjoying it but have now run into a wall. I cannot enter the Inn, I cannot leave town.
I see on here that maybe I'm supposed to talk to someone's mother, but my game doesn't have a Mother. Where is she? There are no doors to open and enter except the church.

Overall it was a nice short-medium mod. Writing was good and the occasional typo didn't really matter. Areas looked good, fights were challenging and characters were interesting, too.
There was one big downer though: I've never seen companion AI behave so badly. Zones looked nice but their design wreaked havoc on the AI. In many fights keeping companions under control was the hardest part.
- Companions tend to attack enemies that are far away, not part of combat, instead of those directly next to them. That's particularly annoying when it happens during cutscenes. I lost count of the times I had to reload because they kept pulling more enemies.
- Some prop corpses seemed to trigger attacks from companions. They'd ignore everything else and move to the corpse and either do nothing, run in circles or blow all AE spells on them. Most notable in the wood after Glittertown (a dire boar corpse IIRC) and in the fight against the bugbears in the port town (bugbear corpse near the mayor). They became useless in fights because whenever you told them to attack or move, they'd just run back to those corpses and blew their spells into thin air. Even in follow mode, they'd cast spell at them.
Also, the Rogue/Fighter companion's feats aren't consistent. He has Longsword Focus and Weapon Finesse. Weapon Finesse doesn't work for Longswords. Granted, he has more feats than possible, but it's still arbitrary.
A minor point are the 2 zhent mages. They are rated as effortless, which was quite the understatement.
All in all it's a nice mod with a few issues but it's still very recommendable. Just keep your companions close ;)

I really enjoyed this mod. I liked the way it was broekn into several adventure goals. Nicely done.

OK, I had to restart the game after getting to the Wooded Valley and not being able to keep Whitemancer alive (I lost him while running from the Devil). Aside from this this error (to those of you reading, follow Whitemancer's directions to a tee---DON'T DEVIATE), the game played out quite well. Combat was worthwhile, scrips were solid (some spelling errors, but so what?) and the finale was actually not so easy. Good job Ilondar. Wish I could rate it above a 9, but having to restart from the beginning sucked a bit.

@ Aardvark:
I have the same problem...Whitemancer died immediately from imps, and now I can't find him. How did you end up?
since none of the crafting skills are used, you should consider disabling them so that the AI does not stupidly choose them.
Also, why build the cohorts with skills like persuade? they will never use those, only you can.
I loved how you actually included stores with scrolls for wizards, very useful and something often omitted by modders.
Consider making a note in the description about the setting being faerun. I was sure it was gonna be a wheel of time adaptation until actually playing it halfway through.
Also, the special armor for the bard has -20% arcane spell failure. This is pointless for a BARD since bards automatically ignore arcane spell failure while wearing light armor (and it is light armor). _________________________ I do not have a superman complex; for I am God, not Superman!
when you have whitemancer with you, he uses a few spells, then he runs into melee and fights unarmed! (unless he has some monk levels that means attacks of opportunity)
This is utterly ridiculous, there is an AI option to absolutely and utterly avoid melee. You can set it on the party AI, he isn't a "normal" party member though so I can't set it, he is a henchmen, thus you must set it.
I really don't want to see him die (as a henchmen he is gone for good if he dies), so i reload a lot and work the fight around him. _________________________ I do not have a superman complex; for I am God, not Superman!
I found some "ancient weapons" under the church in the opening town... one of them had "material: Bad Stref" or something to that extent. I assume Stref is string reference. basically something is broken there... plus the weapons were crap, they sold for a lot of gold, but had a bunch of minuses making them worse then regular items.
Appraise used for BEGGING was a bit, jarring... why not use it to make "merchantile deals" or "investments"... you put some money upfront, based on your appraise check you get back part of the money, all of it, a profit, or a large profit + item... Make it happen at a "later" portion of the game.
Also, no two handed weapons? no heavy armors? and not crafting? but unlimited rest?
Wow, its like the first module in a long long time where playing a wizard is worthwhile (for low levels that is, obviously at levels 10+ mages rule no matter the module) _________________________ I do not have a superman complex; for I am God, not Superman!
the rar file looks like it will just extract and run, but a careful examination shows that you put Legacy of the Dragon campaign in a subfolder called "campaign" instead of "Campaigns". You really should correct that.
I created a fixed rar for myself in case I need to reinstall it sometime in the future.
Anyways, I haven't tried it yet (I am so excited :P), I will let you know of any bugs and issues I find during play, and I will vote after I finished. _________________________ I do not have a superman complex; for I am God, not Superman!

Great mod.
I really liked it.
Only minor annoyance was the rushed beginning.
All in all a really solid mod.
I couldn't finish this. I just can't get back to Port Trinas after leaving the Wooded Valley, the only available place to go on the world map is to Glittertown. And from there I can only go back to the Wooded Valley. I guess some script didn't fire as it should or something. Too bad, 'cause I enjoyed it up to that point.
I got the MotB exp. and 1.23 patch.

I wasn't too impressed with this after reading the comments. I found the game buggy, the music didnt fit in some parts. Completely rail roaded - you should have just made a main character yourself for us to play in your game, cos there was no roleplaying (choices) at all (one example: I played a drow female rogue with no desire at romance but it was forced on me. D:).
I think you have good ideas, but you crammed too much in a small game. Personally I thought the cameos by Drizzt, Bruenor & Co. were ridiculous and useless (they really did nothing that I could see and left as abruptly as they arrived).
The challenges were good, a litle on the easy side, and the loot was interesting. Grammar is important to me and I wasn't impressed there.
Also the end didn't make sense...all that hassle for a rather weak weapon?
A fair effort, cheers for sharing.

Good module, although some parts of the history felt a bit simple to me, while others more developed. The fact that answers during dialogues were scarce is a minus, IMHO. Treasure was well equilibrated, but in the last parts it gets out of hand (a Robes of the Archmage for a 6/7th level character?). During the final battle sometimes the triggers for the mage to speak to you didn´t work and I had to reload. Apart from that, the module is quite a good one. Overall, really enjoyable.
Great module! Counts amongst the very best I've played.
SPOILER (HEAVY) BELOW:
Does it change anything after Sheila's death whether she was your love or just a friend? It seems if you don't romance Reviara, Cryvas very well might and I suppose conversations with Reviara and Tel'talan go a bit differently, but I can't think of anything strictly with Sheila.

What an awesome mod. Among all the other things done right, I'll also add that the music was selection was great, particularly the BG endfight music and the forest demon death chase.

Thank's for the fun, I had some minor bugs and in the final fight, the same dialogue was triggered twice, certainly a bug, but it did not prevented me from finishing the fight.
Pros
I liked the cutscenes, the custom content, most of the combat (but some fights were too difficult: The Drow Wizards were impossible and the final fight was too long), skill use (the rolls were too difficult for my Barbarian, specially for intimidating [CHA 8], but your timing for including the situations is excellent).
Cons
Too story driven I.M.O.. There are no relevant choices in the plot for the PC and the dialogue options were limited to one or two kinds of responses. My Chaotic Good Barbarian didn't fit on a lot of them. _________________________ Check my tribute to our builders!!

First the pros: I thought this was a well-balanced mod and I liked the plot and characters. I appreciated the classes you chose for the companions. I played a female ranger, so there was no redundancy of skills in my party. The end battle was difficult, but manageable and fun. Another thing I want to mention is that I did not encounter a single bug during the entire campaign (kudos for that!).
The cons: The grammar was off enough that it was distracting to me. I liked the characters but the pace of the relationship development (friendships and romance) seemed way too fast - however, I realize this was a "short" mod and you had a lot of ground to cover. I also would have liked more dialog options for the PC (as another poster mentioned).
Overall, this was an enjoyable mod and I would definitely recommend it. Thanks for sharing your work!

Thoroughly enjoyed this. Good battles, nice world and NPC's. End scene was very pretty.
