***Now includes a Multiplayer version (you can play the MP version in either Multi or Single Player modes)***
"Approximately 60 years have passed since The Great Battle of Charnia (see "The Exile"). After that battle, the creatures and followers of Zorn continued to grow in numbers and eventually run the Charnians from their homes. The Charnians escaped into the forest and eventually crossed through a great mountain range via the mountain dwarves passage. On the other side of the mountain they began to build a small town with a few outlining villages. The followers of Zorn eventually stopped hunting the Charnians and returned to their lands. They began to lose focus (since there was no one to torment) and eventually separated into different clans and tribes based on race (goblins, orcs, ogres, dark dwarves, zornians, etc.) About 10 years ago your (the PCs) father, Adwen, led a large group of Charnians in an attempt to return to Charnia. Since the attacks had pretty much ended, they felt that maybe Zorn's evil creatures had all destroyed each other and returning to Charnia would be safe. The caravan never returned. You and your brother were young at the time. Your mother has never recovered from the loss of her husband. A month ago your brother led a small group to try and find out what happened to the first caravan. They were only supposed to be gone for a couple of weeks, but haven't returned. You have decided to form a very small (thus undetectable by the evil creatures) party to search for your brother."
I recommend first playing "Chronicles of Charnia - Escape from Charn" and "Chronicles of Charnia - The Exile" (not necessary though - but helps develop the setting and history).

@The_Incinerator: Thanks for playing through all of the Charnia modules and taking the time to comment. Sorry about the druid weapons thing (I guess I don't play druids very much). Someday, I'd like to enhance the dialog (use more party chat and interactions), make it more multiplayer compatible, and fill out the areas with more NPCs, but baby slowdive is keeping us very busy for now. Thanks again for your very kind comments and feedback. Let me know how the custom party works out. _________________________ Chronicles of Charnia - Escape from Charn (NWN2) Chronicles of Charnia - The Exile (NWN2) Chronicles of Charnia - Lanterna

Simply... beautiful. I was itching for an interesting campaign to play and I got it :D :D Good story with a great twist, lots of sidequests and lifelike companions. Beautiful areas as always :) I have only one complaint: the description says that Druids are supported, but I didn't find *a single* magical weapon that druids can use, so I finished the game with a Sickle +2 :( Other than that - GREAT. I love it. I'm thinking of replaying it with a custom party sometime soon. Looking forward to your next story. Oh, and give baby slowdive my best ;) I _________________________ Burn It Down!

dlevins, Wow, one of your top 3 favorite modules! That is quite a compliment. I spent a TON of time, effort, and love into this project so it is great to hear that it is being enjoyed by others than just myself. Thanks to all who have played and commented, it keeps me going and encourages me to continue forward. Back to IWD for me...well, actually I'm getting ready for baby slowdive in a week or two ;) _________________________ Chronicles of Charnia - Escape from Charn (NWN2) Chronicles of Charnia - The Exile (NWN2) Chronicles of Charnia - Lanterna

It is excellent professional work. I tried many modules for NWN1 NWN2, but this one is among my 3 best modules. I hope that IWD NWN2 will have the same quality. My thanks.

Excellent module

Anyone else tried this campaign lately? I've been pretty busy with IWD NWN2, but I'd like to revisit Lanterna someday and add more dialog, roleplaying options, custom content, etc. This is assuming that people would be interested in an improved version and the work/time/effort wouldn't only be for me...(I guess I've already invested 1000+ hours into this project, so what'a another 100+ even if no one plays it, Haha). _________________________ Chronicles of Charnia - Escape from Charn (NWN2) Chronicles of Charnia - The Exile (NWN2) Chronicles of Charnia - Lanterna

Well, Lanterna was a pretty nice exprience. It wasn't anything wondurous but was entertaining enough. The landscape is just beautiful, battles are smooth (albeit quite hard at the beginning as there's too few healing items available) and there's enough side quests to keep players occupied. The only major issue in this campaign is quite stiff writing. Even though the world is lively, the characters are not as many of them doesn't have any definig charasteristics and they say only what they have to say. Sometimes even reactions are unlogical, for example the side quest involving a guild of thieves who are WAY too ungrateful for my help (the player characters says he/she guessed it would end that way but I certainly didn't). _________________________ A good module author is PAG: Patient, Ambitious and Gutsy.

****Spoilerish*********** I mean the kobold at the end of the cave, the one stuck in the rock. No one can reach it, but it can't reach anyone either. But like I said, it's not really such a big deal. It's not quest-breaking, because no one demanded that we kill *all* the critters. I just called the kobold a big, fat coward for hiding, gathered Miki and Balen and left. ;) *******End of spoilerish************* Regarding the exit/entrance problems, yeah, I know. I build modules (only for myself, my family and friends, I'm nowhere near good or brave enough to make them public), and the stuck in doorway is always vexing. I use the WASD keys to get my PC out of doorways, and for the deeper cave-entrances I use transitions. I never thought about the "door to waypoint" method. Thanks for mentioning it, I'll look into that one, sounds promising.

@Sabriana: Thanks for the kind review. ***** SPOILERS **** -Are you refering to the kobolds on the battlement? They can be reached with ranged weapons or by bashing the barrels. -Transitions from "door to door" are a game engine issue. I guess I could have chosen "door to waypoint", but this is the first time someone mentioned this. ***** END SPOILERS **** I'm glad you enjoyed the campaign enough to replay it (I designed it to be replayed since I would be replaying it many times during testing). @marcklp: It is good to hear that you enjoyed all three modules. Thanks for the comments and suggestions; I'll try and work them into future projects (working on IWD remake now) or when I revisit "Lanterna" again. Thanks again Sabriana and marcklp for playing and taking the time to leave comments/feedback. _________________________ Chronicles of Charnia - Escape from Charn (NWN2) Chronicles of Charnia - The Exile (NWN2) Chronicles of Charnia - Lanterna
