Description Our tale begins here, in the quiet fishing village of Easthaven. One of the so-called "Ten Towns" of Icewind Dale, the tiny community is hardly a town, but rather a collection of ramshackle huts crowded together upon the icy shores of Lac Dinneshere. Here within a dimly lit tavern, a group of travelers sit huddled around a table, swapping tales and making grand plans for the future, completely unaware of the part they are to play in the events that are about to unfold.
This is a campaign so you must select "New Campiagn" to start. (select new game/new campaign/Icewind Dale/start campaign.

Solved. Here's what I think happened in case someone else finds themsselves in the same situation. I solo-ed witha Paladin. I the Severed Hand I found myself in a gamebreaking situation. A NPC I needed to talk to had detected some enemies behind a locked door and switched to combat mode. I wasn't able to finish a critical quest because I*bleep* talk to her. The only way out was to open that unbreakable, but pickable, door, kill the baddies and then talk to the NPC. I had to import a thief through the party editor from another game in the middle of "combat" to pick the lock. That must have somehow broken the XP script. At least after that I did not get any quest xp. Went back to an earlier save and when I came upon the same situation the NPC luckily was far away from the door and could be talked to. Everythingw ent smoothely from there. It's just a guess, but the only explanation I could come up with.

Weirdness, weirdness... I'm replaying solo with a Paladin at the moment. Started lvl 7 and have just reached lvl 13 during the Hand. Something odd happened now. I don't seem to get any more quest xp. Neither did I get xp for returning the pieces of machinery, nor for completing the Hand as a whole. Returned the Mythal book to Kuldahar and didn't get any quest xp either. Combat seems fine. Allthough, if this continues, I might hit a wall at some point in the near future. I guess there will be a point when the game gets too tough for a solo char with no quest xp. Could anyone tell me how to fix this or how many xp would be appropriate to give my char through console commands?

Excellent recreation of a classic, can only echo what Avo said really At L13 with a party of 5 though I just couldn't win the final battle without cheating :( _________________________ Take me out to the black, tell them I ain't coming back; Burn the land, boil the sea, you can't take the sky from me

Late to the game and late to vote. Still I need to thank the author for their contribution. I fully declare this vote is heavily influenced by nostalgia of when I was a younger man and everything DD 'video games' was new. New to the world. An especially faithful rendition of a game I loved dearly with many many attention to small details. Stepped in Faerun lore even to the point of certain plot elements that really dont reveal the outcomes of RA Salvatores writings. I fully admit to being bias in this manner as well. Thank you for this wonderful and faithful rendition. I played version 1.0 of this and I understand another site may have an update. I do wonder if you will please load it here and also add a "quirky compnaion" or 2 or 3 as an option. Compensating for quirky companions always rounds out an NWN mod in game 1 or 2 and would make this 10 +

Please create and release "Icewind Dale II" as an NWN2 Campaign complete adventure module, that's directly based on the original "Icewind Dale II" PC action RPG game somehow please. _________________________ Mike Sharp.

1. I admire the enthusiasm and the effort to "copy" IwD (nearly 1:1) into a NWN2-mod - really! 2. I like IwD and play it again and again every year or two, but the story isn't so great - and a copy can't be better. 3. (For me) it doesn't feel right! (and I *love* playing Baldur's Gate with the BG2 engine!) Maybe it's not really possible to convert DD 2 to 3.5 1:1 without losses. 8-(

Outstanding work. A couple of minor bugs already discussed elsewhere. A really solid game and lots of fun. Makes me sorry I never bought the original. _________________________ Too much ammo is a self correcting problem.
