Description Our tale begins here, in the quiet fishing village of Easthaven. One of the so-called "Ten Towns" of Icewind Dale, the tiny community is hardly a town, but rather a collection of ramshackle huts crowded together upon the icy shores of Lac Dinneshere. Here within a dimly lit tavern, a group of travelers sit huddled around a table, swapping tales and making grand plans for the future, completely unaware of the part they are to play in the events that are about to unfold.
This is a campaign so you must select "New Campiagn" to start. (select new game/new campaign/Icewind Dale/start campaign.
Races: races from IWD are supported, others may work.
Classes: classes from IWD are supported, others may work.

Party Size: party of up to 6
Difficulty: Combat is balanced for a party of 4. A party of 6 will make it easier.
Has been tested for Multiplayer and seems to be working so far...

"Some battles however stood out as really hard (Malavon, final fight)." Thanks for that, I was afraid he wasn't challenging enough, during the AI test my dwarf killed him 4 times with one or two blows at the beginning of the fight... BTW, with the default xp settings, the level cap is 13-14, so, yes, that's right, it's about the same level as the original. Slowdive used a reward table from the original IWD, adjusted for the 3ED ruleset. With a 85% from monster killing and 145% for quest reward you should be able to end at 16, near the 17. Iirc that was the settings I used to test the settings UI, and I was 16 when I faced Belhifet.

It's been an age soince I played the original IWD and I could only remeber bits and pieces of it, but from what I recall this is a very faithful remake. The spirit and feeling of the old game was captured and that's what counts. Thumbs up for the effort and the dedication of getting it done. A truly remarkable achievement. It's a good game with a decent plot and, like the original, it's based around the combat. The main point I always loved about the IWD games was the atmosphere. It's gritty, dirty and dark. That set's it apart from a lot of other modules. I played witha party of 4 and finished lvl 13, to be honest I had expected to end at least tow or three levels higher. It was a fairly standard party (tank, rogue, cleric, mage) and I left all xp settings as they were. I fond the game balance slightly odd. The beginningw as very tough (kobold/goblin battle at the pass), then it got alot easier, bordering on very easy for most of the mod. My tank and my cleric could have gotten through most of the adevnture on their own without the other two guys. Some battles however stood out as really hard (Malavon, final fight). I couldn't se any real bugs or major glitches. Everything seemed to work fine. I missed a few items according to the original IWD walkthrough but maybe that was intentional. The Markath quest seemed odd, but amybe I did some things in the wrong order. So, all in all a great module. I plan to solo it at some point with a higher level char, that should be fun as well. Maybe starting around lvl 5 and see where it takes me...

I am not 100% sure if this is a bug, but a lot of the enemies that (according to an original IWD walkthrough) should drop specific items don't do that. The latest example I have come across is the librarian in Dragons Eye 4, also the Lizard King in Dragon's eye and Therik in the vale crypt. In all of these cases the emeie's corpse stayed visible, but no loot appeared. As yet I seemed to have missed out on some cool items, but nothing plot critical. If this is indeed a bug, I just hope it does not happen when an enemy is supposed to drop a key or something equally important.

Help! I'm stuck at the Severed Hand. After going through the first level, upon zoning to the second all characters, monsters, and objects disappear from view. People keep fighting but I cant see anything or anyone.

Hello, just wanted to make some comments about using Kaedrin's with this mod. I have it installed, and I just removed the k_mod_hb.ncs file from the override folder. I left everything else alone. So far, my characters are lvl 4 with absolutely no problems, and I am using one of Kaedrin's races and some of his spells. Obviously, use at your own risk, but this seems to be an easy way of using Kaedrin's with this amazing mod until the new patch gets released. I am not a modder and have no idea what the k_mod_hb.ncs file does, so I am hoping I don't run into problems down the road. I give this mod a 10, definitely give it a try!!

A faithful remake that brought back fond memories.

Truly a sprawling tale, very well put together. There were a few areas where the walk meshes seemed a bit wonked, and characters could sometimes get trapped in combat(the mirror room especially), but the game basically ran glitch-free. I never played the original, so I must thank the team for letting me experience the IWD story. I can't give it a 10, since it isn't an original work, but definitely consider this to be a Must Have.
