Description
In this bleak winter-cursed world there lies one small hope. Paradise. A forest deep in green and drunk on Spring, it is all that keeps the White Rose from getting crushed by despair. It is all that keeps you, a fugitive on the run, moving forward.
As you travel through the Shade Plain the situation becomes complicated. Fate or perhaps ill luck- intertwines you with the dark events that plague the land.
Ultimately, there lies one question that must be answered.
Will you keep fast the promises made?
Or will you allow despair to soothe you into an eternal sleep?
Knowing the miles to go.
And the miles to go.
The Search for Paradise is the sequel to the White Rose. Characters that finished the first chapter should be used in this one.

Update 2/15/09 - More unique items have been added to the dungeons and stores.
[General comment for the two chapters strung together, voted a bit lower on the first part because it was so very short, but it otherwise shares all the qualities mentionned below] ? This is a very beautiful and polished module, from areas to custom items and their descriptions, and some "exotic" creature powers. The companions and their interactions to the situations encountered are lively and enjoyable. ? Combat was somewhat nasty in Ep. 1 for my Barbarian 1 / Warlock with everybody and their dogs displaying Attack Bonuses that went through the characters' Armor Class like wet paper for most of the module. Ep. 2 was fine, some planning required but a lot more manageable. ? The overall story is nicely told though the motivations claimed by the... huh *ducks around spoilers*... main culprits behind most of the current events struck me as somewhat odd. Quite railroaded overall though the rails generally make plenty of sense, and your exact choices do seem to have consequences here and there, which is nice. An excellent adventure, thanks for sharing and I do hope there'll be a sequel ^^ Oh, and for some reason when I saw "WR" and the "post-apocalyptic" tag, I thought of the (excellent) Wolf's Rain anime but there's nothing in common ^^

Very nice and immersive story. I liked the custom music too. Henchmen really should have been developed though, basic conversations that stay the same through both modules are dramatically poor for a module tagged as heavy roleplay. I still enjoyed playing this. Thank you. Note for fellow players : be careful if you have anything in your override folder, it may prevent lots of encounters - both minor and major - from happening (at least in WR1, not sure about WR2).

Why will this not work with Kaedrin's and CACP in override? _________________________ NTB's Hills and Valleys Vol. 00

Played this right after i finished the previous part. This one uses it's distinctive style better, maybe because of the first one's ground work. It's an adventure of nice lenght. As with previous, I like the polish of custom load screens and some of the music was really good. As they say, there's a few typos and some battles could use some work too, but mostly it's great. Good areas, good atmosphere. Again I like the limited resorces, but the drops you do get could use some more variety. getting that bastard sword twice is not a good sign.

Fairly good module. _________________________ KQ/rjh

Much better than the previous one and Shagga made me give you 10 (as a fan of ASoIaF) but the battles were too easy, especially the last one and the mages didn't use many death spells. Also, a lot of grammar mistakes. Very enjoyable module overall.

Hi, Everyone, Anybody know if Jolly Jenkins is still around? He hasn't posted since mid-March, either here or on the White Rose page.

Nice continuation of the first one. Area designs are excellent. Music and Environmentals are good. Storyline is excellent and kept me wanting to play through even though I was tired. Dialogue is good however in some areas its a little unrealistic. I like the companions Jekyll is a hoot. More dialogue between them would be good. Only thing I would take issue with is the item drops in game it seems like every melee carries the same wpns either the same bastard sword or the same long sword or the same club. While there are other drops or finds in the game a little variety on the other items would have been good. Keep up the good work though can't wait for part 3.

I like this, but I think it would be better with more variation in the loot. Maybe some more gear for spell casters would be nice, like a Ring of Wizardry or a Wand of Fireball, since the restrictions on resting are rather painful for wizards and sorcerers. I'm looking forward to the next module. XD

Fun. Cute. Sometimes challenging (you may want to improve the balance a bit in future mods... at the beginning it's rough and too easy at the end). Nice custom music though (end fight!). And even if you still have a problem with past participles, I won't hold it against you... I've played all your modules - I think - and you have taken giant steps! Congrats and thanks again.
