Set sail on the high seas for this grand piratey adventure. Over three years of development and many people's effort went into this project. It includes such mini-games as Lute Hero, Pirate Cards, psionic combat, Alphabet Assault, and Sanity Defense. From humor to horror this epic story spans dozens of islands, contains new powers and weapons, and countless voice actors. Grab your flintlock and raise your Jolly Roger today!
Note that this version includes all three acts of Dark Waters and concludes the series. Three types of installers are included: a full installer that most people will want, a smaller lite installer without sound or music, and a RAR file for Macs and people who wish to install manually.
Nice mod... story is original and interesting, though to be honest it kind of gets lost in the background with all of the island hopping and treasure hunting. The voice acting was great, and a nice touch. Really liked the music, particularly the tavern songs. Unfortunately, there were just too many bugs. A lot of the conversations seemed to misfire or just seem out of place... for example, when I dug up the map from a certain grave, this mummy shows up and starts a conversation that implies that I'd met him before - I hadn't. In town, after having killed a certain somebody, the guards would still take me to jail even after I was pardoned. The ship combat was cool, but around midway through module three it just stopped working... whenever I got to the point where I tried to board the opposing ship, my party would just appear in the middle of the sea and stand there, forcing a reload. The mini-games were clever and a nice change of pace. The ending was rather anti-climactic; for all the build up, having it end with a series of very easy puzzles and dialog options was a bit of a letdown.

So, this is my very first comment here (not very good at expressing myself on forums...). But I just played through the mod for the third time and absolutely needed to say that it is just BRILLIANT! I love the story, characters, humor. Thank you for the amazing mod.

Hate to be the turd in the punch bowl, but I found the whole experience tedious. Granted, there are points of brilliance, like the Pirate Cards, the whole psionics thing, ship battles, and a couple of the locations. The points I am giving are because of his unique things he's added to the module. But all the 'innovations' or novelties just get in the way of the gameplay. It might be better to NOT put all your innovation eggs in one basket. Individually, each is brilliant. Put all of them together, and you weight down the story and the gameplay. And that is why I score it (relatively) poorly.

For people suffering from the rare game-crashing-after-Pirate-Cards-match bug, I've found a possible workaround for it. You'll notice that the game gives you a second or two between registering the match's score and loading you back to the Black Spot (which is precisely when the game crashes). Well, just use this time to quicksave the game. If the game crashes, run it again, load the quicksave and use the dm_jumptopoint console command to get back to the Black Spot and continue the game normally.

When I get to the end of level 5 Robert doesnt appear. I get the first two lines of the conversation....then nothing. Do you know of a way to fix this? (ive already attempted to load from a quicksave just before opening the door, doesnt help) Its a shame too cause this seems like an AWESOME mod based on what I've been able to play so far

Okay. This module gets full rating, although I stopped playing because I was totally annoyed. It scores as follows: 1 point for styling of the surroundings, detailed maps and some nice loadscreens. 1 point for great riddles. I really switched my computer off for some hours in order to solve them. 1 point for great dialogs and even greater cutscenes. Totally nice Roleplaying. 1 point for music. Any chance to get the lyrics to some of the tavern pieces?? 1 point for worthy opponents and seemingly epic battles. 1 points for creativity: You created your own setting, complete with history background and hundreds of documents (which I in fact collected, ending up with a full inventory of books and scrolls :-P) 1 point for creativity: You created the SAGE system, making it easy to install enhancement to the equipment. (Only that this system was seemingly replaced by the Set Items in Module 2 - the SAGE system wasn't really the big deal later) 1 point for creativity: You invented the focus gems and corresponding skills as "keys" to add the "gift". And then this thing with the battle in the past, where you lead an army. Oh, and the guns, yes. 1 point for creativity: Tatoos and earrings and soul gems to trap others. 1 point for creativity: Treasure search with maps, compass and shovel. My aasimar paladin ploughed several graveyards. 1 point for creativity: You changed NWN2 to PotC (there was once a computer game that had nothing to do with the movie except being named like that, but it was the only pirate-themed role-playing with first-person view and ship manager I ever played before. That game wasn't so great, but DW gave me similar feelings. 1 point for creativity: You changed NWN2 into Guitar Hero. 1 point for creativity: You changed NWN2 into Yu-Gi-Oh. (Or something like that, I actually never was into card games like those) 1 point for creativity: The arena system on Woodsie Island was pure fun. 1 point for creativity: The underwater experience was just great, slowly moving around with barrels and such. 1 point for creativity for all the other minigames and miniquests that I'm too tired to list here. Like the Chronomancer Quest or the Dwarf mines. Or this strange merchant system where you can buy 50 wheat for 4 GP and sell it for 6 - that's almost 200 GP profit, right? Which you carry on a 8000 GP worth ship, manned with crew and weapons that also amount to 2000 GP or some. So, I'm way above 10 points now, am I. Let's deal out the negatives. All this creativity, crammed into one module. It S*CK*D. Deeply. I never knew which new game system awaits me around the next corner, will there be a Minesweeper-Emulator maybe? Had you put all this into single modules, without connecting all these minigames... Either the SAGE or the SET system? And although I don't want to detail on all the crashes and bugs - after a while, this made me always reading the hints before doing the thing: turned out sometimes that the disappearence of a character or all his equipment was _not_ intentional. Also this strange gnome who lurked around in most of the cutscenes... I was seriously believing in ghosts... -6 for that. And consider yourself lucky that the total amounts to 10 points. Thanks anyway, this module IS pure genius, though some less scoops of genius would have done a big deal. And the title to be "genuinely groundbreaking" is well-deserved.

Thank you for a rollicking fun ride on the high seas! This is one of the best mods on the vault and definitely one of the most inventive - pure genius. I would love to be able to give it a full 10 points, but all of the bugs (crashing to the desktop every time I tried to dock in port in chapter 2 and when trying to talk to people in the black hole in chapter 3) make that impossible. Happily, chapter 3 was fairly bug-free for me in comparison. I could never play pirate cards or fight a battle at sea, but it was still a fantastic mod and deserves at least a 9.5. Thank you Adam! Karen :)

Great fun - which, no matter how many innovative features there may be, is ultimately the most important thing in a module. Only one minor quibble though - I was looking forward to beating a certain amputating antagonist to a bloody pulp in single combat, but had to be (barely) satisfied with a cut-scene revenge. I wanted BLOOD I tells ya! :)

Arg!!! There be pirates!!!!!! The only pirate module that I ever played (never played Pirates of the Sword Coast, but the link is dead :() Never seen a mod so stuffed full of content. Plus, the boss battles were truly unique. The companions are really great and the romances even more so. Also, I never wanted to kill someone more than I did with the main antagonist. Seriously, this guy made my PC's life a living heck. But, there was one thing I was confused with and I was hoping that someone can clear things up. *Spoiler...AGAIN* This concerns the ending where you sacrifice yourself to close the fey portal. I'm in a romance with Heather. I die... but later in the epilogue it says that I'm happily married to Heather. Did I miss something?
