The original ZORK I The Great Underground Empire was a text based interactive fiction game. It was an adventure where the player typed commands in a command line user interface and got response back in written from. Like:
>Game: You see a large tree, what do you want to do?
>Player: Cut down tree
>Game: With what do you want to chop down the tree with?
>Player: Cut tree with knife
>Game: You start to cutting the tree with your pocket knife but soon realize that it would take you a lifetime.
You get the idea. This is an adaption of that game and it's done using Neverwinter Nights 2. It can never be the same game as the original but what I felt when I played Zork I all those thousands of years ago are inside it. It will absolutely differ from other players perception of it, but that could never be my responsibility.
But apart from that, the game is not DnD or any other RPG. If you are looking for serious role playing or a hack and slash feast you might be disappointed as this is mainly a puzzle adventure. If you like games like Myst or Riven but want to be able to move around in a 3D world and feel more inside the game I think this module is a great one. Anyway, I hope you give it a try.
You probably find most answers to you questions in the walkthrough, but if there's still some questions don't hesitate to ask them in the forum at nwn2zork.freeforums.org. If if find a bug or another issue please report them there.
And remember, ZORK I was a really difficult game. So even if I've removed lots of things you could screw up the game with and introduced several clues and straightened up the logical flow - it's still a very hard game to beat.
Don't hang down you head if you need to consult the walkthrough or the endless resources of the Internet (yes the original maps and hint books are valid for this module).
Enjoy, and don't let the Grue bite you!

Awesome!!! Very true to the original game! It's difficult to compare to other modules. It is an excellent remake done with lots of skill and so much love that it deserves a 10.

@enthusiast *spoiler* All the doors and all windows but one are all nailed shut. Try the kitchen window at the back of the house. If everything works as it should clicking the window should start a conversation. I have not heard of any problems with it so let me know if you get stuck. _________________________ ZORK - Rediscovering the Great Underground Empire a re-make of the classic ZORK I, for Neverwinter Nights 2 Amraphael's House of Curious Things My NWN2-blog _________________________ If you download it, vote for it!

@DaveFritz Swords, axes and knives are some sharp objects one never should carry when entering a delicate rubber raft. Try leave them at a safe place. _________________________ ZORK - Rediscovering the Great Underground Empire a re-make of the classic ZORK I, for Neverwinter Nights 2 Amraphael's House of Curious Things My NWN2-blog _________________________ If you download it, vote for it!

I cannot enter the house. After opening the mailbox and trying the doors, I try to enter the window and my character just stands there doing nothing. I have a fresh install of NWN2 MotB. Updated NWN2. How can I fix this?

What are the sharp objects which will puncture the magic boat? All I can do is puncture and repair it. Repairing with the magic gunk only gets me a puncture again. What do I need to get rid of?

Superb, really. Amazing to see what can be done with this engine, 'specially with how the world of Zork can be brought to life.

@Apep, Thank you very much for playing and voting (a very generous vote too). I'll try to release some of the area as PreFabs soon. _________________________ ZORK - Rediscovering the Great Underground Empire a re-make of the classic ZORK I, for Neverwinter Nights 2 Amraphael's House of Curious Things My NWN2-blog _________________________ If you download it, vote for it!

I didn't play Zork, a little before my time perhaps, but I really appreciate the effort and direction you have taken with this mod. Exploring new ideas (well, new for NWN2 anyway) always gets a massive thumbs up from me. 10 out of 10 and well deserved. _________________________ AP Magical Miscellanea Package (v1.5, over 750 items): Link

@Sumguy Nope, nothing is installed in the install-folder or anywhere where it shouldn't. But if you have Vista or Win7 you need admin-rights to run "unknown" install-scripts for "your own safety". But as I said before; if there's a demand, I'll provide! I'll asked for some space to upload manual-install files so all DIY-install-people can avoid use my *very nice, friendly and skillfully done* install-script :) It should be up any day soon. _________________________ ZORK - Rediscovering the Great Underground Empire a re-make of the classic ZORK I, for Neverwinter Nights 2 Amraphael's House of Curious Things My NWN2-blog _________________________ If you download it, vote for it!
