Installation instructions: Place the Thesk_Aim_1_02.mod file in your Neverwinter Nights module folder (default is C:\Users\Documents\Neverwinter Nights 2\modules)
Ambushed by bandits while on your way South and escaping with only your life! You must now find money and equipment to survive.
'Thesk - Adventures in Mosshold' is a single player module for Neverwinter Nights 2. The Mask of the Betrayer and SoZ expansions are required to play this module.
This module is designed for a level 1 character of any class/race. companions are provided, but you must look for them!
The module should take about 2-4 hours to play. You should expect to achieve level 5 by the end of the game.
'Thesk-AiM' focuses on action, adventure and GAMEPLAY STRATEGY, the role playing as with most of these games is left up to you how much or little you wish to do it,
but combat will be challenging, especially for spellcasters and ranged classes.
The second part of this series can be found here: Link
Mod Builders: Feel free to use anything out of the mod you need, but give credit where applicable - thanks.
DEATH: There is no permanent death (unless both you and your companions die) then it's reload time! So SAVE OFTEN! Make sure you only use a level 1 character to prevent the game becoming too easy!
COMPANIONS: There are companions to help you. You meet your first companion in the very first area,
listen to them through out the game, as this companion acts like a DM, giving subtle hints as to where to go or what to do next!
Before leaving the village for the first time, speak to everyone who has a 'proper name' to receive directions around the village and enable map notes, also to receive quests.
WALKTHROUGH: There is a basic walkthrough provided in the .zip file. It does however contain spoilers! So check your Journal first then only use the walkthrough if you're really stuck.

A solid "beginners adventure". Nothing fancy, but exactly what it intends to be. A handful of "standard" quests to level up a new character from lvl 1-5. Combat is very easy if you take all three companions (which you are supposed to be).
As I udnerstand it, it was meglalosus' first mod and for that it was very good. I recommend playing it as a prequel to "Adventures in Nyth" which is better.
It definitely "deserves a look".

A short (playable in one sitting) module that is fun. It is hack and slash and the companions, while interesting, are never developed. The quests are brief and straightforward. " Recommend to anyone".
So far a very impressive module! I think it looks very neat and the setup with the road is a nice excuse for adventure.
Unlike every other commenter I have actually encountered a bug, so my comment only concerns up till the little roadside ruin with the wererat. After clearing that, I obviously continue to the transfer sigil thing unto next part... and then the game shuts down, repeatedly, and I don't get nowhere. I have repeated and it happens, but I havent played from the start. Since no one else have noted bugs I assume something is wrong with my setup of the module rather than the module itself, but as far I can see I have followed the only instruction: place it under modules in the Neverwinter Nights folder. :/ Since I really want to continue this, I am happy for any help I can get. :) Thanks!

A very nice little Adventure set in a very well thought-out and put together world. As many have said, the Marsh and Mosshold village itself were very artistic. Without dropping a spoiler, I'd like to also give kudos for the way you portrayed the nonhuman settlement. It looked quite realistic. Providing voiceovers was also a great touch.
There are only a couple areas that could be improved upon. Interaction was, as you warned, limited. This doesn't keep the Module from being very entertaining. Getting a chance to experience more of what looked like potentially fun characters would just make it even more enjoyable. The Module did remind me somewhat of Dungeon Siege in the fact that you followed a set path with no deviations. There was very little opportunity for my Ranger to scout ahead or set up an ambush. Being able to use some of that beautiful terrain to my advantage would have made the good time I had playing this even better. In the end, my Character ended up a Ranger2/Bard3, with some nifty gear for entering the next Chapter. Again, these aren't demerits. They are just suggestions for taking a really nice flair for Modding up a notch.
Unfortunately I don't drink wine and cheese is over rated.

maglalosus... want some cheese with your whine?
It IS your first module, right? So a score of 7 is not too bad, plently of room for improvement. I mean, look at it objectively... and compare it with some of the better modules here.
I know module building is hard... and I suck at it, granted. I'm a player here, not a builder. I've been here for 5 to 6 years, playing and commenting on more than a hundred nwn and nwn2 modules. My constructive criticism is what I do here. I've laid out praise for dozens of modules, voted, encouraged a lot of people to keep improving their creations.
Maybe you weren't here when the NWN2 voting standards were introduced. Voting in NWN was grossly inflated. Everyone had 9,5 or 10. Some inflation was inevitable, but look carefully at the chart. *7* is very good, deserves a look. Not quite hall of fame yet, in my mind. But it's just my opinion, you can take it or leave it.
But I don't think you should put off the people who actually come here and give feedback on your work. That's part of why you do upload it, right?
BTW, I've started your second module, and it is much better than this one. Not sure if I'll bother casting my vote, though.
Thankks again for the comments, nice to see people enjoying it :)

An uncomplicated, straightforward, short adventure that does exactly what it promises. Nothing much to add to what others have already said. The area designs are very good indeed; the companions are an interesting group and are all useful in the adventure; only drawback is that the dialogue is a bit lacking.
I think that a few hours' work on the dialogue would really pay off here and make the overall experience even better.
Well worth a look, and I'll certainly be keeping an look out for anything else from this author.
Thanks for your comments, please bare in mind this is my first Mod - It is interesting how most of the lower votes are from people who have never submitted anything on this website. Perhaps creating your own Mods will give you an insight into how much work goes into them. A couple of people have complained about roleplaying and the size of the Mod - It does say in the description that the Scope is Small and Roleplaying is Light.

I have enjoyed your mod after a long time away from NWN2... It was a nice, solid little thing (no bugs, plenty of action). Loot is balanced... but there's definitely something missing.
First of all, there is no roleplaying and the mod is very linear. Combat is okay, but predictable and not very challenging (no tactics required with a full party). Story is paper thin, and the interaction with the three companions is not developped at all, expect for a little backstory. The whole thing is very bland, I'm afraid. I mean, any of those 'cons' aren't much of a problem, separately, but taken together...
This module is still 'very good' - competent - for what it does, but don't expect anything special here.

Very enjoyable small scale adventure. Reminded me of the old PNP table top days.
A few grammatical glitches toward the end but that doesn't bother me as much some others evidently. The last reference to a certain color was possibly meant to be gold and not red. Trying to be vague there.
Good balance of classes for the NPC's.
The areas look great. You did a good job of filling out each area with extra aesthetics.
The battles were quite challenging with increased challenge modv401 in override folder .
Overall, great job. Not perfect but nothing really is. Please continue the storyline. Thank you for your time and effort.

+
-> no bugs
-> balanced loot and combat
-> great area design&nice details
-> fast travelling is a nice idea
-
-> several grammer and spelling mistakes
-> although the descritption told me that it's a hack'n'slash-mod I would like to see some more dialogue options for a bit of roleplaying. Maybe also some options to chase away some enemies via speaking instead of killing them on sight.
-> story almost inexistent
-> dungeons too straight

Short, well-made adventure with a very classical plot. Loved the ambience and lighting of the maps.

Straight forward and solid, no bugs, although I wasn't a fan of the "don't take this fork yet..." Fights were well-balanced, I think the very first encounter was probably the toughest for a 1st level rogue. Not sure if this could be handled a different way, maybe where no matter which way you choose you go to the first encounter first? Looking forward to the next installment.

Please change the description from "multiplayer" (which is what I was interested in seeing) to something appropriate for single player, as the mod description says it is single player only.

No something is definitely broken. I received the last quest from the elder--thus the area transition should open up but it won't. The only reason I think is that I completed the spider quest after I received the mine quest. So I've given up--too bad. Nevertheless I like this mod. I did find it too controlling--yes--and it's a little generic. It's hard to survive but I did. However, starting at level 1 is unrealistic--unless you like your companions popping up from the dead after every fight. I don't. The areas are well crafted.
