For those who haven't started module 4 yet, (Bagthorpe) please substitute this one for the one in the modules folder. This corrects a bad journal entry.
If anyone is already playing module 4, (Bagthorpe) please email me when you reach the break point and I can correct the error for you.
Thank you to those players who pointed out the mistake.
This is a walkthrough for the first three modules of The Kitchen Boy campaign. It was prepared by Christine13Black. Minor changes may have occurred since it was written.
You need only replace this module if you are playing a female PC. The actual problem, a faulty conditional, doesn't stop the game for either sex, but a journal entry is missed and Jack Rolling's grandmother just hangs and doesn't go on her way.

I enjoyed playing this game for the hard battles and unique atmosphere. The author is also very helpful when a player gets stuck. I was pretty creeped out by all the little boys running around in their tight shorts, however. It was enough to become annoying, take all that out and this game rates higher.
I'm having quite a problem trying to start this mod. Whenever I create my character, no matter the class, my feat and skill choices get completely replaced by some standard kit. For example, my rogue always gets feats dodge and mobility, and my skillpoints from search are removed.

This is great. Thanks for your work.
Anyone knows how to get out of Ella Rich's house? I suppose I have to Search for a hidden thing, but I can't find anything.
Thanks.

@Enyavar
What naked children are you talking about? There is a picture of children in swimming clothes at the title screen... which, while odd for a D&D type of game, isn't anything inappropriate.
I'm really not sure why the author decided to put "not for D&D gamers" in the description. Granted, it's not your typical D&D adventure - it takes place in a much more modern setting, maybe early 1900s in England - but for the most part the gameplay isn't any different than a D&D game. You solve puzzles, you fight things, and you have conversations that determine the way things go. There is nothing really different about the game mechanics, and as I recall, both of the additional classes are described in both the README file and in the character generation screen.
Would it be possible to post screen shots of mapped areas (with names or markers)? Perhaps, naming each building and house. Alternative, once you have been to the building or house, the name will always stay on the map.
== Spoiler ==
Where are all the people who borrowed the Book of Necromany (Module 4)? Grobnar will not speak to the characters.
Where are the kobolds? The Oracle (in the professor's house) mentioned I should deal wit or find the kobolds. Are goblins the problem, kobolds or both?

I' m just short of words. It's a titanic work !
Many, many hours of game and a very good story.
Thank you PGB. I'll wait for the sequel to come and I'm keen to know the end of the story. _________________________ TAMKAN
Okay, I downloaded and installed the game and was quite surprised. Naked children... a sinister figure rambling on about child molestation in the opening sequence... "Almighty God" as deity choice? What's the target group of the game, catholic priests? I'm very sure it's not what it looks like, but sorry that is quite the first thought that naturally springs to the mind.
Character creation already was quite a challenge. I read the readme which told me that a human is most logical. No class recommendation, but: Two new classes appear, so to me it seems very apparent that they are intended for the player. "Artist" and "SS-boy" were not really something I could understand at first glance, I guess they're something like rogue/swashbuckler and mage/rogue? I threw my luck at being an "Artist", only to find that my chosen feats were replaced by two different feats when I started the module (apparently the standard fighter feats?).
Next thing I did was reading the comments here (I usually avoid to read them since they're spoiler-y), only to find out that this module "is not for D&D gamers". Would you please at least mention this somewhere in the advertisement? There should definitely be something like "total conversion" and "non-core-DnD adventure" in the description. I'm sure that the mod is enjoyable and worth all the time to play it, but I would have liked to be informed about it before installation.
Finally, some information about what the adventure is about should have least been included in the readme... like "what are those strange new classes" or "this world and its game mechanics are different from DnD in the following aspects..." or "this mod features the following groundbreaking new inventions..."
@Xcelcio: Thanks for posting reasons why not to play it further, I will uninstall it, maybe play it later sometimes.

Reloading the autosave worked perfect! I was trying to reload the save I had made right after the autosave and it was still missing that speak trigger for whatever reason. Thanks again! _________________________ Wadda Mudda Fudda.
NamAnka, yes that is the end of the current modules.
Kewlone, a speaktrigger failed to fire when you came out of the tower. If you want me to correct pls email me on [email protected], or you can pick the game up from the autosave in the tower.

I have gotten pretty far through this adventure. Have had an excellent time!!!! *spolier* I have just gone up to the Arko-Breko after his son is returned. He says " The best person to ask is standing besides me." But his son is still mute. I may have missed something here. I'm sure I'll figure it out. I love this mod so much! _________________________ Wadda Mudda Fudda.
I am on the dusty road with Will & Jennings where they have the monthly fair. Jennings just got his new armor, I walk up to the transition portal goint to Oakleigh Environs, it starts to load but leaves there.(is this the end of part 10)

A Masterpiece. Its story better than most commercial games.
I hope the author decides to release the next two chapters someday.
The end of it's life? I'm sorry but I don't understand. _________________________ I Luv my DFI's.... I do play a lot of mods. I really must apologize. That I don't vote more.
Looks like I'm going to play through again. Humm.. Updates... Any new areas? Side quests? Fantastic Mod. I can't even imagine how much work went into this. _________________________ I Luv my DFI's.... I do play a lot of mods. I really must apologize. That I don't vote more.
Please note, having reached the end of its natural life, this game will be deleted on the 30th June. Thank you to those who've made constructive comments. To anyone who maybe still playing please make a note of the email address where you can contact me if you have problems: [email protected]
I agree: Don't play if you want a standard D&D game. Don't play if you don't like teenage children as main characters.
The music main theme is called 'High Adventure' by Charles Williams, composed in 1950, it will be familiar to some BBC listeners of a slightly older generation as a signature tune. It has nothing to do with science fiction.

A good solid mod, one of few (compared to nwn1) mods which are notable.
I'm sure a lot of good has been said about the mod, so I'll point out some of the things which might be a turn off for some; It is a 1.5Gb+ download after all.
-quite troublesome to rearrange nwn2 folder for those with many mods already installed
-very linear
-the kid's very very annoying
-mixture of real world lore and dnd lore
-very cringeworthy UI and save screen
-jarring scifi-ish main menu song
These points are not inherently bad, but some won't like it anyway.
I'd still encourage most people to give it a try, but it's not for everyone.
Pls email me on [email protected] if you have a problem. My visits to this site are quite rare. I think you just need to keep speaking to the denzens of the kitchen.
Hoping someone here can help me out. I am in the kitchen and I've spoken to everyone. I've driven the vampire bat off. But I'm stuck on what to do from here to further the plot along. No amount of knocking (bash) will elicit a response from the chef. Can I get some help? heh heh

If there were the ability to give higher than 10 I'd do it. This one guy has done a better job at balancing a challenging gamble, writing an engaging script, and pacing the story between climaxes and lulls than I have seen teams be able to do.

A challending, extremely detailed module, better than most original games. The end modules are still in progress, but are worth the wait.
Just selected the character for another mod (having swapped haks etc around) and he appears with power attack etc. Loaded FRW character creator and created a new character, he appeared in that mod with power attack etc, saved him. Swapped haks around again, chose that character for your campaign and again he appears as a default cleric.
I don't know the answer to that. I tried it myself just now and I became a divine champion of Gond in ten seconds flat.
Why not try creating your character in the OC and import into 'The Kitchen Boy'?
By the way, I am very rarely on this site, and it was just by luck that I caught your query on the day. If you want further assistance, please email me on [email protected]
I seem to be having a problem at the beginning. I chose a cleric and the domains do not appear, your god nor the feats I chose. It gives you a default cleric. The same happened with a rogue.Any reason for this and please help, cheers.

Though some might find the combat difficult (or too easy), and some of the puzzles a little obtuse, these should not distract from enjoying the better parts of this work. Namely the impressively written story and dialogue, good pacing and interesting ideas.
