Description
[Updated!]
From Within is an upcoming series of modules for NWN2.
This Prologue introduces some of the characters and of course the story itself, a lot of things which may or may not happen in the series depend on your actions here.
This module is for any characters, and you should create a new character for this module, as variables from your old character might interfere somehow.
I'm not going to tell you anything about the plot itself, and please don't spoil what happens in the module or what you may find when looking at it in the toolset.
I've tested it multiple times with different characters and there are some issues, but please be patient and if you feel a door should be open/unlocked, look around in the room, and then go back to the door again and see if the trigger triggers this time. I don't know why but sometimes triggers don't launch properly.
There will be no fighting in this module (well, almost none), the fighting will begin in the next module.
The Next Part is on its way, but I don't think my previous goal for release will be kept as I've decided to merge two modules for the next chapter.
Update! I hope most bugs and other annoying features have been removed now. Here's a list of some changes:
*The conversation with Captain Mouray no longer loops.
*Captain Mouray is now removed from the first floor as intended.
*Cameras, spelling and timings have been altered a bit, not perfect but at least better.
*I've added a new NPC. Many have pointed out the lack of personnel in the Castle, although it is in the middle of the night I've added a librarian who wanders around, looking for a book...
*Certain parts of the conversation with the tapestry no longer causes the game to crash, added a (oh so) neat conversation instead.
*The Queen is no longer a Queen, this was a dumb mistake and thanks to Tapio, it has been changed. She is now The Lady of Neverwinter, (the late) Lord Nasher's only child.
*Kinir now reacts if the player is a Drow.
*[IMPORTANT]The Exporting in the end has been fixed, this means all of you who has played the module before the update will have to play it again if the next part is to work properly for you. I'm sorry about this but there's nothing I can do but say:
"Enjoy another Run!" :-P
[Update for the Update...]
* Mouray's conversation in the armoury doesn't malfunction when selecting a specific node.
* Some grammar, spelling and camera angles fixed.
* The last area, Arbordale, has been given appropriate lightning (always night, lowered moon light intensity)
* Major grammar and typo fixes.
* The reported crash-to-desktop bugs have been removed.
Although there is practally zero fighting, it looks like you got a very nice start. Can't wait for chapter one to come out.

This is a very promising start. My vote is so low because I don't really recommend the general public try this at this stage... just those who are interested in works in progress. Note I played a version I downloaded on Dec 11, so things may have changed since. Story's got me hooked. I like the conversation scripting very much. Loved the tapestry bit: I like these adventure-game type aspects once in a while. The portal scene is gold. Top gripes: -Don't force an export character at the end. Give an option to exit without exporting. -Some areas need more decorating, especially corridors. -Never clear where Mourray has gone off to. Should remind player of next destination in journal. -I don't think a Lady would be called "Your honor" (unless she's a judge?). Milady would be best. -Too many spelling mistakes. -Module starts off a bit rough. Should be an intro (maybe a convo tga?): "A forthnight ago, you received a letter from Lady Neverwinter requesting blablabla" Good luck with development. _________________________ E.C.Patterson Gaming Parents Studios Trinity, the NWN2 adventure : Download now.

"Also quite weird that lady of Neverwinter trust's to evil dwarf." It may seem weird, but if you speak to him and ask of his past or even just look at his description, you'll find out why. As I've said before, adding any battle more then training combat on a dummy would just be odd at this point, in my opinion at least. You'll have to wait :-P. Anyhow, thanks for your comments, Thirdpres, blatantlyobvious and bietu. Happy New Year!

I enjoyed this short prologue to what will hopefully be an interesting series, the characters within it seem original enough and is a neat intro into the plot. I voted this a 7, I look forward to the follow up.

Thanks fo your comment, Jov. It feels weird though, because you are probably the first person who have disliked the characters and the plot (alhtough I can see your point, not much happens but this is just a prologue and would it be that great to have a major plot event here, like say an attack at the castle ala NWN1 OC Tutorial?) "without given any explanations" is key. "I like the mysterious beginning" see? This is planned, did you not hear what Kinir said after the armoury meeting? "Spellcheck could be useful" Crap, I thought I had tracked most typos down now. If you played the new update (released the day before your comment) could you, and everyone else who plays the update, please tell me of the mistakes? I haven't looked at this page for awhile, too busy with the new chapter, but I would just like to thank everyone who has taken their time to comment and vote, although I'm slightly disappointed by the score, which keeps moving down from 8... please go up to 8 again, stupid score...
10 - A Masterpiece, Genuinely Groundbreaking 9 - Outstanding, a Must Have 8 - Excellent, Recommended to Anyone 7 - Very Good, Deserves a Look 6 - Good, Qualified Recommendation 5 - Fair, Solid yet Unremarkable 4 - Some Merit, Requires Improvements 3 - Poor Execution, Potential Unrealized 2 - Very Little Appeal 1 - Not Recommended to Anyone
